Lol the balance issue in this game is a non factor. A good Q can still zone like a mother fucker and mix up with that sick command grab of his and spook the shit out of you. This game doesn’t have a balance issue in my eyes. Every character has a weakness. In Dudley vs Chun, Dudley is basically gambling because Chun will just throw out that st.mp or crouch and block. If she crouches you can’t go for a counter hit, so what do you do? JUMP AND GAMBLE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and honestly that shit is so fucking fun. It’s just match up, but I love just knocking that bitch down and going into mix up heaven.
I retired in 09 after my stint with vVv Gaming was done. I haven’t really followed it since except when certain players came back. The main flaw with your thought process is that Grubby is actually good vs Human. Fly100% and others have been much better in the past. I know Orc vs Human obscenely well. I used to play Orc.

No. I have played 3s more than any other game. I love it to death … but it isn’t the best. Chun is enough of a reason for me to believe that unfortunately.

Doubt that I’m actually not bad at the game, but she really dominates the game if you play someone as good as you are. High level 3s in a singles format is unwatchable because of the degenerate nature of that character. Teams works out well though for watching though so that’s why it’s one of the more popular formats.
CvS2, imo, and some anime fighters I think are overall better in a competitive setting because most of the degenerate stuff isn’t so lame.
3S is still one of the better fighters.

Chun still isn’t as bad as you make it out to be. She’s very strong but you just have to play more patiently… not to mention you can parry her attacks? To get in on her you have to play footsies and hopefully you get some lucky breaks.

Playing 3S today after a long SSF4 run, I can definitely say it’s the best fighter I’ve ever played. For noob like me, Hugo would be unplayable if I couldn’t parry jump ins.
Every game has long combos dude(3s included). At least these have the goddamn common courtesy to kill you.
Man people in this thread who hate on 3S because of tiers need to step up their game and learn their match-ups. All Chun-li players are NOT equal, actually its not that difficult to curbstomp the bitch from a misplaced low forward.
if you check out the Danisen rankings (someone posted them on this board recently actually) there’s a fair amount of the characters in the high ranks that you would expect, but also a good amount of diversity too. people who are just aware of Evo think high level play of this game is all Chun Chun Chun Yun Yun Ken but its more diverse than that.
also maybe it’s just me but I like watching Chun and even Chun mirrors are pretty good.
