3d Fighters need to be completely revamped

You know what the funny part about your long ass post is? The combat designer (a friend of mine) for your UFC games is a huge fan of Virtua Fighter, and a long time Tekken player, and apparently has no problem with the way they work. :stuck_out_tongue:

and no i didnt read anything here, but im sure that the op is only a dumbfuck anyway

by now he would be full red

I don’t see how it’s MMA anyways when everyone does watered down muay thai and Blow job juitsu.

if you want a 3d fighter to be more like UFC, why not just get a UFC game

Damn I miss rep.

many prems wouldnt renew their accounts only because its gone now, lol

Oh come on guys. Its not hard to figure out this guy is sockpuppet of a banned user.

Stop feeding the troll.

Personally I just punch my opponent in the face after the match anyway so I don’t know wtf the big deal is about realism

Can I give my advice to the creator of this topic?

Buy the UFC game. Go play it.

There, problem solved.

lol at people seriously replying to this thread

Uh There is another one coming out soon. I agree with him on the excessive juggling in Tekken 6. That’s some bullshit lol.

Its not really. But just don’t play it.

Part of the fun in most video games in general is being able to do things you couldn’t(or shouldn’t) do in real life. I sure if most people could throw energy from their hands, break floors and concrete with sheer impact, defy gravity with illogical moves, dramatically increase in size by eating specific fungi, run at blazing speeds, etc, there wouldn’t be very much interest in gaming.

If you want a realistic fighting experience, go join a MMA competition.

Because those are the only fighting styles that have stood the test of time in the ring? UFC had all those fancy Ravens and Kazuyas and Hwoarangs and Eddy Gordos you all love so much, and you know what happened? They got knocked the fuck out. No one cares if you can do 6 kicks to the face like Hwoarang, once you get taken down and mounted, your ass is destroyed. Why use fighting styles that are useless in a real fight? Maybe if those asians had real opponents instead of fruity guys dancing and twirling like some fucking Crouching Tiger crap, they’d realize their martial arts are garbage and come up with something worth using.

This is why I don’t watch MMA.

Was just about to quote this.

You’re missing out, MMA is fucking awesome. I will say this, shit like SF and KOF would prolly suck if it was like MMA. We all know if SF was like the UFC, Sagat and Abel would fucking destroy everyone, and Claw and Juri would get knocked the fuck out in 5 seconds. And Ryu? Forget it, he’d get fucking owned, bitch has NO ground game at all. I never got that shit, how can this fucker travel the world and training nonstop for years claiming he wants to be the best, yet he never developed any kind of ground work in his style? MMA artists train all the time, work on their groundgame and get mad pussy on the regular, yet this fucker can’t? Ryu is a failure at life, plain and simple, and a failure as a martial artist. That shit with him beating Sagat was lame too, Sagat would have beat his ass in like 5 seconds flat. Only realistic Capcom games was CvS2 and Super Turbo, where Sagat was Top Tier, as he should be.

super post for tobal 2 as the best 3d fighter ever.

The movement in tobal 2 is 8 way run, 8 way jump so it has far more spacing interactions than tekken\VF will. When the opponent attacks with a normal coming from the left, you can run diagonally right and up @ the opponents back faster than you would in tekken\VF. I wonder why those games don’t have diagonal run. Seems it should be standard @ this point.

throwing in tobal 2 has got to be best throw mechanic I have ever witnessed in a fighting game. Nothing comes close except the MMA games. In this game, throwing is a mixup opportunity. Nothing is free here however you do have choices for options. Throwing, attacking from throw, dragging to change screen position.

In tekken\VF, this is what happens when you tech a throw.

Its just a simple break that leaves both parties neutral. This does happen in tobal 2 but this is actually the least common of throw breaks from my EXP.

Tobal 2 works on the reversal throw mechanic. Much like you find in a wrestling\MMA match, not fake WWE wrestling, actual olympics wrestling.

When you break a throw in tobal 2, you actually gain the throw advantage on most of the throws. When you break a throw in tekken\VF, it leaves you neutral. There is no reward for your throw break. Tobal 2 allows you to go instantly offensive here. This throw break process can last up to 10 rotations, 5 per player before the game breaks you apart.

attacking from throw

once you grab someone, throwing is not the only option. You have this muay thai style clinch game where you can attack high or low or a combination of high and low. high\low\high, low\high\low, low\low\high etc… These are all blockable by the way if you can block the mixups, its just that your opponent has alternate options to throws.
**
throw mechanic, dragging**

The last part of the throw game involves dragging. When you grab someone you can drag them to all parts of the screen to change the position game involved. Position alters someones mental thought process all the time. You can force scenarios to happen based on where you are.

throwing is just a mixup and EVERY option from tobal 2 can be countered and it allows the person to counter to be rewarded for offense.

Before someone says dragging is broke, you can actually tech out on the first step as you’re being moved. The quicker you realize you’re being dragged, the faster you can get out.

combo timing

5 just frames in 1 combo and this game came out in 1997. It also happens to be one of his bnb combo’s so the game does have depth.

tech throw, release from back turned state, BIG FUCKING COMBO ON YA OLD ASS!

God. Damn. Why didn’t Virtua Fighter or Tekken have shit like this in it? Even more pressing, is why didn’t Kakuto Chojin have it, the game was made by the same damn company. The only thing with throws I heard KC had was supposedly if someone attempts a throw and you do a throw break, you get involved in a “repartee”(the guide said it, not me), and both characters attack and you mash buttons to overcome the opponent. It made me think of that clash stuff in DBZ Hyper Dimension where the chars clash if they hit at the same time, and do all these crazy attacks til one overpowers the other. Yet, when playing Kakuto Chojin, I NEVER saw this feature. Is it even in the fucking game? Just, wow…
