aside from hamburger guy who seems to have no idea what he’s talking about, has anybody had luck getting Strider to set up Strange for his loops? I’ve been running Strider/Strange/Jam Session and just been messing around with basic TACs to get the team down and haven’t messed with Legion into something.
The problem with Legion is that it’s one of the few things in the game that are completely ***random. ***You could set up the FOF loop for some formations, but those are formation specific and there’s no way ever to actually know which formation you’re going to get.
lol @ the pizza guy who has no clue what he’s talking about.
I agree

yea i see what you mean, spent 15 minutes trying to get it to work and couldn’t really get anywhere :\

I’m looking into adding more entry mixups into my repertoire with my team and made this video to show the things I do use or some theory stuff I haven’t put into practice just yet. I absolutely love how much a good Bird Bomb setup can ruin other people’s lives in this game, but I still feel like there is more twith the ninja on incoming that I haven’t been doing.
Disclaimer In some situations, I can see that I wasn’t tight enough in recording my entry stuff. Please don’t mind too much.

I’d lso love to see the kind of oki & reset game available to him with those two assists. I have some ideas I’ve rickshaw’d together, but if you of you all would like to educate me (since I really love playing this team in any order and enjoy Strider’s high speed reset game), I’m all ears.
love dat music
In the corner with dante, instead of opting for jam session or million carats, try doing volcano while calling strider out, it’s actually pretty good the fact that volcano hits them the opposite way while strider comes in, so it’s almost a 50/50, cool thing about it is if they happen to either try to double jump or air dash strider causes a hard knock down or let’s you do safe pressure strings
Strider w/ Doom beam is so amazing. its probably the same with any beam but the speed and chip dmg done with doom is just nuts. its fast enough to do teleports into fuzzy set ups. damage scaling doesn’t mean jack since you can just TAC into doom for a lvl3 kill. Combine that with the insane set ups that strider get on the incoming and you’re in for a world of shit. still running it Zero/Doom/Strider though for the time being. just getting strider in the game once i have momentum though.
So yesterday I started using Strider/ColdStar/EoA.
Holy christ, Strider/EOA is amazing. The Blockstun from EoA is so great that it allows you 3 BIRD-BOMBS and still time for a mixup afterward.
Also has a lot of really neat combos, and supplements his psudo zoning game.
With Level 1 Xfactor, I could put you in a near-infinite blockstun with EoA and just birdbombs. It’s too good.
Let’s say I want to play a point Strider team with Doom in the back for infinites, to solve the damage issue.
What’s the best third character you can think of? The first priority is giving Strider a beast neutral game, plenty of mixups, safe blockstrings, incoming setups, conversions, etc, since ANY hit should lead into infinite -> tag strider back -> ouroboros -> hit -> infinite. Second priority is having a good shell left in case Strider dies.
Vergil or Ammy would work.
I typically like to put characters on point before I relegate them to anchor spot so I actually legitimately know how to use them. This suggestion might be beyond you due to whatever reason but i’m going to try playing Strider/Zero/Doom, or maybe something besides Doom. Strider gets 1m-1.2m off a regular confirm w/ Zero hard tag into double assist extension and loops. I don’t really like relying on TACs ( and its hard to do midscreen ones if you don’t hit down exchanges ).
I also think Ouroboros is an awful use of meter now that people know how to properly pushblock it, but its not like Strider can use meter for anything else.
All very good points. The reason I want to dable with this team is to practice doom infinites and to learn strider as a character, as I’ll eventually use him as anchor in some team variations, as you mention.
Unfortunately I haven’t found reliable corner carry combos for the easier infinites, which I’m hoping the third character can help fix. I hadn’t thought about hard-tag extensions though, so I’ll take a look at that. Zero sounds like a good idea, but I have, well, zero experience with him.
The idea behind using Ouros is simply to get a hit, which isn’t hard to do given how long it lasts, and is self-sustaining with infinites. The hard part is chaining a hit into an air combo (for TAC), but I’ve found a way through Gram … problem is it does almost no damage which means more chances to drop the infinite reps.
It’s definitely a team for fun, not for competitive play.
Currently using Wesker/Zero/Strider. Does anyone use Point strider w/ wesker assist? What type of safe unblockables(hard to blockables) do these two have together…currently i’m just using block string orb toss call wesker instant overhead. looking to add some teleports to the mix. either that or wall clings.
Opinions on xxx / Morrigan / Strider? <br><br>Im curious about the shell itself, and who could possibly fill the role (aside from Doom, Vergil, Dante, Ammy, Spencer)<br><br>Anyone care to help ? Comments / suggestions ?

Depends. It seems like an annoying shell chars like Vergil, Dorm, and Trish can take advantage of. Seeing as you’ve barred Vergil there’s still Trish and Dorm. Both would be just about controlling the match and chipping like a whore though. <div><br></div><div>Then there’s also Zero. Sougenmu assist + astral vision is a pain. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>So here’s my update and question. For some reason I prefer Dante with weasel shot when I run Strider on point. Jam session which is theoretically superior does have more applications since it takes up so much space but idk. Weasel shot just does it for me. Been practicing Strider(vajra)/ Vergil (rapid) / Dante (weasel). Not gonna lie it sucks not having TOD’s but the more aggressive I’ve started to play the easier it is to kill off chars in 2 touches. Strider really does force his opponent to the corner and rapid slash helps with that as well as keeps vajra H safe when I want to get in. It’s also a fairly easy hit confirm if your oppoenent doesn’t block it and youre anywhere near the corner. Weasel shot holds people in place for high/low/left/rights and I’m finally getting the hang of Strider’s ridiculously low double jump maneuvers. He can use them to cross up or hit high in front at a stupid ambiguous angle. Weasel shot also just lengthens my block strings and lets me summon orb to keep safe and stuff counter attacks.</div><div><br></div><div>Strider is just a battery and will only burn meter if he needs to kill a char. I can play him to death or more than usualy I’ll dhc him out and bring in DT Vergil backed with 2 mix up assists. Vergil picks people apart with orb pressure, weasel shot mix up, orb pressure repeat. Throw in vajra to keep people from running to the air and its Vergil’s world…until meter runs low then tag in Strider or Dante to resume battery duties. Generally speaking by the time Vergil comes in though Strider’s killed a character and touched a 2nd so the match is running long if his meter gets low. If Strider died Vergil will clean up w/e 's left and x factor the next char.<br><br>Should I be left with just Dante and XF I just touch chars and go to infinites though usually Dante ends up dying before Strider or Vergil. I play the team in a revolving door fashion. Any one can play point or anchor really. I think that’s what I like most about it. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>During projectile wars I’ll drop bird bombs, call Vergil and Gram H (I should have a satellite to cancel into to add to the bs on the screen if necessary) </div><div><br>So yeah still just experimenting at this point but whats the juries verdict on this team? <br><br></div>
Edit: old post is now irrelevant and I cant delete posts.
What synergy is there for Strider with Ammy in the back? Any THC stuff? Anything else notable ? Resets ?
hello everyone, Im using this team: Taskmaster/Doom/Strider, I always wanted to play strider, I know its good on point but you have to use it with wesker or vergil in your team, I dont want to use both of team in any team.
If you have advices or something to share with strider anchor position will be great, I was reading a lot of experience you have with strider, I will practice the combovideos I saw in that section.
Thanks for reading and see ya!
What are some of the things that Doom-A/Sentinel-A/Strider-Y or Nova-B/Doom-A/Strider-Y can do? Seems like very versatile teams.
