There’s been discussions about MLB getting rid of divisions, and it’s something I’ve thought about supporting, even now.
The top 3 records in the NL belong to the Central (Cards, Pirates, Cubs). If the season ends this way, two teams with better records than two division winners will have to play each other in one game, while the other two get a pass to the NLDS. I can’t buy this as fair in any regard. I don’t care about putting teams in groups because they’re closer, or because of rivalries. We’ve seen many times over the years in these leagues where teams with better records get lower seeds just because they’re not in the same group as a lesser first place team. That’s gotta stop.

A ball gets hit to center for a sac fly the dude with the gun turns to whoever was telling this story on the broadcast to “watch this” and pointed the gun at marte’s throw. Said it was easily over 100 mph.
