How did Vick get picked 3 times by the Steelers’ terrible secondary? Aside from the one pick by Troy.
Pats steamrolled yet another preseason opponent. I really hope all of their opponents are just jobbing to make them look good and have Green-Ellis shoot up to round 1 status, only for him to be a terrible reach.
im not gonna go jump off the vick train, but there may be something to his performance. last year he was playing loose no pressure football. this year, hes headlining the dream team. and he did struggle to play consistent football before he went to jail
a slight drop off wouldnt be all that suprising to me. somebody correct me if im wrong, but wasnt he off his game in the playoffs last year too?
Not really. Guys are still learning the system, getting timing down, still not going 100% on plays, etc. It’s essentially a slightly more intense version of a scrimmage. Preseason, unless someone gets injured, means absolutely nothing.
In the beginning, I was actually sorta defending Alex Smith, thinking that he got a raw deal with all the bullshit that happened in the organization that most likely killed any chance of his development. Now? He’s just too far past that “pet project” phase to even invest time into; why develop a 27 year old QB when you can just draft a 20 year old QB and develop him so that he’s ready to go at 22/23? Alex Smith will forever be known as “that one guy that was drafted ahead of Aaron Rodgers in that terrible 2005 draft class”.
You know what though, with those SF teams and their horrible protection, would you want to ruin Aaron Rodgers career? Nobody was safe behind that protection scheme. That was David Carr/Texans status.
They did draft Frank Gore that year. So it kinda evened out.
Meh, our o-line in Rodgers’ first 2 starter years were bad too. Not David Carr level bad, but in 2009-10, Rodgers got sacked 50 times, yet still was able to throw for 30 TDs and 4,400+ yards while guiding his team into the playoffs. Even emo baby Cutler, getting sacked 52 times last season, was still able to post semi-respectable numbers (23 TDs, 3,200+ yards) while guiding his team into the NFC Championship game.
Sometimes, but not all 50 sacks were solely on Rodgers. That o-line wasn’t that great and there were plenty of times when the defender was in the motherfucking backfield by the time Rodgers took his 2nd dropback step; injuries and age fucking killed us that season (Tauscher, Clifton, etc).
naw Cowboys will aight. I guess i’m salty that the Skins gave up McNabb and went with a quarterback who to me at least is a downgrade. Meanwhile McNabb is probably gonna pick up where Favre left off with the Vikings and bring them back to the playoffs.
