Doesn’t DMC just have an orbital injury? I don’t that’s requiring him to miss any significant time… But then again, DMC is kind of a stretch at a round one pick. He’s somewhat in a committee. Isn’t Bush still out there? McCoy could still be good at #6, Ronnie Brown could steal goal line touches, but Brown also is a health liability based on past history.
At #6 faced with those options… I just picked Vick.
I had 1st pick in a 10 man league
- (1) Arian Foster (Hou - RB)
- (20) Hakeem Nicks (NYG - WR)
- (21) Mike Wallace (Pit - WR)
- (40) LeGarrette Blount (TB - RB)
- (41) Antonio Gates (SD - TE)
- (60) Matt Schaub (Hou - QB)
- (61) Austin Collie (Ind - WR)
- (80) Knowshon Moreno (Den - RB)
- (81) Mark Ingram (NO - RB)
- (100) Mike Tolbert (SD - RB)
- (101) Joseph Addai (Ind - RB)
- (120) Braylon Edwards (SF - WR)
- (121) Jacoby Ford (Oak - WR)
- (140) New England (NE - DEF)
- (141) Stephen Gostkowski (NE - K)
How is that?
Hakeem Nicks @ #2?

Sorry if someone disagrees with me, but I’m sure there were probably 5-6 better players in a 10 man league for your second pick…
so whats the deal with this terrel pryor shit.
the commish let him in the supplemental draft, but he has to serve a 5 game suspension in place of the one he was going to get at ohio state
so does that mean all the players in the league tied to this miami shit are going to have suspensions as well
nfl makes no sense sometimes
whats wrong with hakeem nicks at #20? All the reliable top Wrs are gone (jennings, johnsons, roddy, etc) and nicks is better than reggie wayne and miles austin. Taking WR/WR in rounds 2-3 is legit, as all the good WRs are gone by round 4, while legitimate RB2s remain such as blount.
I’ll take aaron rodgers over vick everyday. Give me that guaranteed 20 points every week instead of 25 with a high chance of missing games. Teams will also figure vick out better this year, as he slowed down towards the end of last year with blitz adjustments.
Having said that, drafting a QB in round 1 is never a recipe for success.
Vick isn’t just a “QB” when it comes to fantasy. He’s a point scoring machine.
Vick averaged 5 POINTS a game more than rodgers. How many fantasy games are decided w/ 5 points or less? Vick still outscored rogers despite missing 4 games to rodgers missing one. If you put any decent backup QB in there (say, sam bradford or even ryan fitzpatrick). You outscore Rodgers by 50 points over the season at least.
Vick is a QB/RB at the same time. If you have a late round 1 pick, you’re much better off w/ Vick than reaching for Mendenhall or Turner.
Besides, Rodgers has been going anywhere from #9 to # 15 anyway, so if you’re gonna draft a QB high, might as well take Vick.
Nicks over Wayne and Austin? He had some blow up games but he also had some 0’s I know I had him. Wayne and Austin are studs that always put up around 10-18 each game and what you are looking for is consistency. I always look to make a team that gets me 90-110 every week instead of the 60-140 teams that is how you win leagues one bad game and you are done in the playoffs.
It depends on whats still available. If you have a RB that will get you more points than a WR at 20, take the RB. It is much easier to find a WR sleeper than an RB. I wouldn’t take a WR near a 20 pick unless his name was andre johnson or reggie wayne, but that’s me.
Depends on the draft I suppose. I wouldn’t take Nicks @ #2 though.
Personally I think if people are gonna leave RBs behind in favor of WRs, screw 'em. In standard league scoring where there’s 1pt for every 10 yds and 6 pts for every touchdown, there’s a reason why RBs are so valuable. I’d screw them over by taking RBs and forcing them into a trade later to my benefit. WRs can put up numbers in stretches, but unless you’re an Andre Johnson or Calvin Johnson, I think RBs can be more consistent.
or a rejuvenated roy williams YOU JUST WAIT
Wasn’t Nicks hurt a good part of last year?
I could be mistaking him for Mario Manningham.
But seriously, taking a WR second round of his caliber could hurt you. It depends on the QB throwing him the ball for the most part. Like I said, Andre Johnson is the only WR I’d take prior to round 3. Calvin Johnson’s a close second. Anyone else can wait.
Even if it was after third round, Wayne and Austin are both better than Nicks IMO.
H. Nicks was top#3 WR in fantasy football last season.
I don’t see how S.Jackson is a bad pick, he might not be A.P or A.Foster but the dude is still soild overall.
Going with M.Vick is a great choice and now that the Cowboys offense will be able to screen more and take quick shots with Austin,Bennett,Witten,Jones etc, I think Romo will post nice Backup QB stats
Got in that league 1.
Weeee reaaadddyyyy
Ya backup QB stats gain you nothing if you go for a first round QB like vick. Trade Romo to fix your slot with maclin in it imo.
anybody still drafting vick top 5 after today’s performance?
OH NO!!! He’s gonna be like this all season!!! You gotta drop him to the 3rd round now!!!
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
wow that was fast. vick sympathizers sure mobilize
Outside of talking about injuries, preseason means absolutely nothing.
