The limit for votes is supposed to be 20, but people have gone over here and there and that’s fine I guess. If I remove your team votes it’s a little over 20, about 27 so that’s okay.

Yeah, no team votes really. That’s an incredible amount of headaches. I’ll take votes for TMNT since someone voted for them already, they are 4 characters I know and don’t have to bother googling them. Plus their roster never really changes. :looney:

Yeah 25 is fine. 20’s not a hard rule, more of a suggestion. No one has that many so far for it to be a problem. Ideally I just want people to narrow their favorites down as best they can but at the same time give us a lot of options so we can have an actual list, but who knows how things will turn out in the end… There’s thousands upon thousands of characters and this is pretty hard to do for a lot of people including myself. So going over 20 a bit is okay.

PS Fantastic Four #18 where Super-Skrull first appeared is a classic issue. What an excellent introduction to one of the greatest characters in all of Marveldom! I know if I weren’t running this thing and trying to keep my choices down, Super-Skrull would be on my list.

The following characters are getting hosed:

Superman: Come on, guys. You knew this was a given. He is my favorite fictional character.

Vladek Spiegelman (Maus): Dude survived the Holocaust and still manages to be racist against black people. Not even Dr. House is that fucking curmudgeonly.

Marv (Sin City): Contradictions can either render a character totally unbelievable or just a little more believable. With Marv, it’s the latter.

Son Goku (Dragon Ball): He never hardens. He never becomes more worldly. He’s always naive and sort of dimwitted, which is exactly why so many of the antagonists in the series are won over by him. He’s absolutely incorruptible.

Mitchell Hundred (Ex Machina): On one hand, he’s presented as the ideal candidate, and on the other hand, he’s also a sometimes-tragic example of what happens when idealism and reality meet.

Rorschach (Watchmen): One of the most well-realized characters in the history of the superhero genre, and one of the most disturbing. He’s Travis Bickle with a mask.

Supreme (Alan Moore version): See, I get to vote for Superman twice. This is an interesting take on the character, adding on meta-fiction, satire, and assorted other Alan Moore clever-dickery.

Dr. Manhattan (Watchmen): Might as well make it an Alan Moore threefer. Dr. Manhattan is the best logical extrapolation I can think of for the standard “powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men” superhero trope.

Swamp Thing: A walking vegetable who thought he was a human and eventually became the protector of vegetables that don’t walk, or some shit. I love the sci-fi weirdness. And I guess this is four Alan Moore characters now. Sue me.

Dream/Morpheus/Whatever (The Sandman): A long-running series with an actual arc for the main character? Sign my ass up.

I would’ve put Barry or Jay or Bart (Impulse/Kid Flash) or Max Mercury on the list but I wanted my list to be more diverse than just speedsters. haha. but the Rogues and Zoom and Grodd are awesome! So I just had to put them on.

And I was about to Fei Long or Ryu on the list, but i wanted to keep the list as comic book characters rather than video game characters. I love the Street fighter comics by the way.

In no particular order:

• Deadpool: Gotta love the Merc with a mouth, wisecracks galore

• Wolverine: One though son of a bitch, one of the very few Marvel series I actually bought for a few years consecutively (late '90’s early 2000’s)

• Megatron (Transformers G1): The one and only true Decepticon leader, although his presence was quite short in the Marvel comics, he would be redeemed by IDW, Dreamwave, etc. All hail Megatron!!

• The Joker: A very amusing character too me, I don’t care much for the DC universe, but the Joker is a clearcut winner

• Batman: A superhero who doesn’t even have special powers, mutant abilities, etc. gotta respect that.

• Venom (Eddie Brock): “We want to eat your brains” 'nuff said

• Vega (Udon): Yes our loveable Spanish fighter, I like the way Udon put him over in the comics, I already like the character so this gives me an excuse to nominate him.

• Cobra Commander (GI Joe): Ahhh the nostalgia

• Starscream (Transformers G1): One of the most treacherous characters EVER, gotta love him

• Grimlock (Transformers G1): “Me no bozo, me King!” I specially liked the fact that in the comics Grimlock was put over a bit smarter than his cartoon counterpart.

• Dr. Doom: A classic villian, I rest my case

• Apocalypse: A villian of epic proportions, I mostly like his scheming and plotting and of course his almost biblical dialogue

M. Bison (Udon): just for kicks

Lord Thunderwing (Transformers G1) I minor character in the toy line, how put over hugely in the Marvel Comics, a Decepticon who actually got hold of the Matrix.

Galvatron (Transformers G1): The fact that he was able to fool his own “gods” in the Marvel comics is more than enough reason too put him here.
