I played a bit more this morning and had a much better experience this time around.
Now I really only get input lag for red connections everything else is pretty great.

It kind of sounds like SNKP thought the only issue was the choppiness, and didnât really address input lag?
The more i hear mixed reports, the more i think iâm just gonna have to test it out myself. If the lag is comparable to sf4, itâs not worth the purchase until the price drops imo.
Them not addressing the input lag is to be expected. The only reason HDR and i guess BB focused on eliminating input lag is because the players made their voices heard.
No online gameplay is going to be flawless. Here are things you shouldnât do while playing kof12 to have a good connection:
Donât play on wireless! If your on wireless yo will NEVER have a great connection. Itâs your own fualt for a shitty connection imo.
Donât surf srk or and other site while playing kf12. This will also lag out your matches if your on a page with alot of moving advertisements.
donât download porn, youtube vids, or have a chat room open while playing kof12. All of these things will make your connection suck.
last but not least, make sure when you make a room to cut the CHAT option off! Talking will cause lag spikes.
donât make rooms over 4 players can join. This helps you because if 1 person joins the room with a red box it wonât lag as much imo.
They really need a boot/kick someone out button added to online play, but that can be addressed in a later patch. I give this patch a 7-10. Thatâs great news because before it was -1 out of 10 imo.
The game definitely runs a lot faster but I still have trouble doing combos. Just doesnât feel like offline mode for some reason. Also, the menu/matchmaking system still sucks ass. Iâm finally going to sell it
I really hope KOF XIII is a sequal to KOF XI.
XI is  XII is
Sorry but I donât want to play the king of kula, gato+ another character fighter XI.:arazz:
Thatâs the primary reason why I then hated XI!
It made it mandatory for a player to have Kula and Gato on their team in order to win!
Just look at a lot of the XI tourneyâs, everyone had Kula and Gato on their team, itâs disgusting!
donât forget number 3, mr Oswald. cheeeeap
I had no problem against Oswald, at least he was hard to use and can easily do a mistake, and he was only powerful if you pick him as a Leader.
But Gato who can destroy any attack with his cheap ass HH kicks that destroy all moves and Kulaâs ridiculous Jump C, those characters were the worst.
I guess we wonât get a good netcode from SNK anymore since Iâve been hearing of constant input lag, reminds me of MvC2 online.
I think Oswald had a pretty ridiculous jump C as well but back on topicâŚ
CHIN AND JOE INFINITE? YES? NO?
I cant see my connection box? Has anyone else had this problem? I can see my foes box but not my joint
I thought KOFXI was an excellent game even though GKO dominated the game. Some other teams were played as well if you checked some old tourney vids but yea the game(KOFXII) seems to run a bit faster at least from what I am seeing. It is playable but I mean I would suggest others to rent this game.
The level of skill is not too high as many do not play the game. This patch is ok to play in and that is always good though.
Every game has top tiers. No way around it. Marvel has sent, storm, mag, 3s has ken, yun, chun, and sf4 has sagat. You donât have to pick them to win but it makes it easier. Hugoâs pretty much bottom tier in 3s but I definitely wouldnât want to face hayaoâs hugo with yun.
XI had a lot of characters that could beat the top 3 i.e: kâ, ralf, kyo, kensou, and even maxima.
I play both ggpo and HDR (360 and ps3) on a wireless connection and have no problems. Thereâs no reason why any other fighting game canât come close to how those 2 play.
Thatâs a lot?
The kof12 netcode could be better, but I feel like most people are looking for a reason not to like an snk game in these threads. My how we forget how the early stages of ggpo huh? GGpo is the standard now, but that was after how many version to get it right? GGpo has always been great, but it had itâs share of bugs in the early stages just like any new system. They would add games and things would get a little bit crazy. They make a new version/patch and it was all good We also forget that hd remix came out a whole year and a half- damn near 2 years after it was announced to be released in the late 2006 4th qtr or 1st quarter of 2007! My how we forget. They was testing that game for atleast 1 year past the original release date.
They said it wasnât even ready to play at the original release date of 4th qt of 2006(around christmas) was what I saw for the 1st release date because I played a card game called epic battles made by udon. They said it would be coming out when a new pack was about to come out. Needess to say that card game went under and it took 2 more years to make hd remix. It was suppose to be out 1 1/2 years before sf4, but the delays had it only months before the arcade release of sf4. It seems like if itâs not capcom fucking up people are less to forgive other companies products.:annoy:
In no way am I comparing ggpo to the snkp netcode. That would be plain stupid. All iâm saying is from what the netcode was snkp did a better job than the 1st patch imo. I had almost no lag with a person in So cal!!! Iâve also had some laggy matches, but the samething happens on sf4, bb, hd remix and any other online gaming on a console. Some people have shitty connections. Not saying your shit is shitty, but some blame it on the netcode when they are running dialup.:looney::rolleyes:
Youâre going to need a chiropractor from bending over so much for this game.
You lost your point when you mentioned MvC2.
Why? Iâm curious here. lol
every game has top tiers but the question is how far apart is the top from the bottom, a character like sagat may be S tier, but the reality is hes not much better than a character like ryu and if you look at tourney results you typically see a nice range of characters doing well. Thats why sf4 is a well-balanced game.
Now take a MVC2 where you have 50 something characters and only about 7 of them are competitive, thats just trash design in my opinion.
I never played kof11 so I wont comment, I will say that kof12 seems very balanced as of right now, although Iâm certainly not playing at a tournament level right now.
