ZD Arcade Control Encoder And ZD ReMatch (PS3/PS2/PC) (The most cost efficient PCBs to date!)

There are two different models - the PC encoder and the PS3/PS2 encoder. It will say which one it is in the item listing.

If you want a ‘Home’ button you’ll be needing the PS3/PS2 version.

Thanks, gahrling! I read the previous responses about the home button being the “Mode”, but there was also a reply stating extra soldering had to be done, which I’m unsure of since the reply was confusing to understanding. Could you or anyone clear that bit up for me?

There is absolutely no need to solder a ‘Home’ button unless you want to access it from a stock pcb, like a MadCatz TE turbo panel.

I have 4 of these I bought for my 4-player arcade cabinet and was hoping someone could help me with something.

Since I am a huge Smash TV fan the player 1 and player 2 controls both have dual joysticks.
Currently I have the second sticks wired to an ipac keyboard encoder, but would like to have them wired directly to the zero delay encoders.

Is this possible, if so how? I am using Happ/IL “American” style sticks with the two pin connections.

This will give you some incite

  1. Next to the start pin connector, it seems there is another “right” connector on the diagram?? Is this just another pushbutton connector?
2)anyone noticed any ghosting whatsoever with this board? Multiple simultaneous presses do not trigger any problems?
  2. any problem switching from digital to analog with the same joystick ?
  3. does this board perform better ( in terms on input lag and ghosting ) than the “xin mo” encoder that has 13 buttons + mode/home + turbo + led pins such as [url=“http://www.aliexpress.com/item/USB-to-jamma-Arcade-control-Arcade-machine-accessories-game-machine-accessories-parts-for-coin-operated-game/451026632.html”] xin mo PC/PS3 with home/mode function ?
  1. Haven’t tried hooking it up, I assume it’s just a redundant right.

  2. I’ve had no problems with either of mine.

  3. I don’t think you can do analog with it.

  4. Don’t know.

Thanks Camacho.

Now I’m left with issue n3. To sum things up: on the ZD pcb , the mode button doesn’t serve as home button for PS3 but on the ZD “rematch” pcb, it is the case.
But what the heck is the mode button for if using it on PC? the supplier I contacted has a notice poorly written in english, still it says : “Fully compatible with PC USB Windows 2000 / Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7 system, in the PC system, containing digital and analog two modes. “
And when explaining the mode button, well nothing except:
” -Support three special functions: SELECT, START, MENU.
-Support four special features: TURBO, AUTO, SLOW, CLEAR.”

I understand menu is for PS3 (aka home aka PS) , but for PC what does it really do?

I got some info for you guys.

I bought two of these Zero Delay Arcade USB/PS2/PS3/PC and they arrived yesterday, I immediately wired one to a fightstick that I have and I tested it with SSFIV AE and KOF XIII both on Pc.

But first, I went to the Control Panel > Devices and Printers to see how the ZD appear when plugged in, it just shows as USB Gamepad, so I go to the Properties and this is what I found:

First, when wired all 8-Buttons, they appear as buttons, not as triggers, this comes handy since in some emulators and games the triggers don’t work at all and for MAME setups this will be great!
This is the default settings of the ZD, I held down right on the stick to see how it works… this seems to be the analog stick (…?) but I’m not sure.

Then I pressed the Mode button and this changes the mode of the stick, remember this is the Home button on PS3:

After this little test, I found this board works great, is cheap (around $20 bucks each one), is pretty straight forward to wire up, works like a charm with both, Pc and consoles and I haven’t found yet any lag when playing with it. The only con (and I’m not sure about this, but I will test later) is that, if you leave the stick plugged to the computer and you turn it off or restar it, the controller will not work, you need to plug it in every time you want to play, this only with the computer and as I said, I’m not 100% sure about this, with the consoles it works great.

I have a PS3 60GB and I tried playing some PSX and PS2 games with this fightstick and they work like a charm, still need to test it with PSN games and PS2 with HD Loader, but so far, this is indeed the most cost efficient pcb for PS3!

@Fearless Thanks for clearing out this business of toggling from digital to analog. Apparently the mode button does so for PC but for PS3 it acts like home button only, which means no toggling from digital to analog on PS3, only on PC. Not the end of the world, it does both modes for PC, that’s all I wanted to hear!

You’re welcome Agieze.

I’ve been playing like 40min with it on SSFIV and I still haven’t found any problem.

Now, I’m wonder if I could add a rj45 panel connector like the neutrik to have detachable cables with this board, since the USB and PS2 headers are separate or maybe I can go with the easy way and just put two connectors, one for USB and the other for RJ45.

Personally I looked for a version of ZD rematch that has only a USB cable , not a Y cable with double connectors (USB & playstation2), since I don’t care for PS2 .

I’m not travelling much with my arcade material, I only take out of the house accessories I know I could easily replace, but if you do travel on a regular basis, perhaps you should consider installing a neutrik RJ45 for the PS2 and a USB port as well, cables tend to fuck up in a suitcase or in a backpack and shorted/broken cables can ruin your PC and consoles. Other than long distance travelling issues that imply having your luggage thrown around or stuffed to the rim including your joystick, it’s just hype if you don’t really have the need for it, a little plus that looks neat.

Well, the thing is that, I can’t find any retailer for the ZD Rematch in the USA… they are only available from chinese sellers and the others I bought comes from a seller from Florida, which means ultra fast shipping to me here in Texas.

I don’t travel that much either, so I don’t have any trouble dealing with cables. But I think I will mod a regular USB cable to use it for Pc and PS3, I don’t like the Y cable that comes with the ZD package.

anyone use this? works with xbox360 and dreamcast converter? confirm please so I can order. $19 is really good deal and I already have converters. also can I buy the playstation/ps3 locally? no idea how it long it takes to here(I am in NY) from china!

Don’t know if it works with converters. I’ve seen an eBay seller in Florida that had them for $20. Mine came from Hong Kong, took two weeks to get each of them.

which ebay seller from florida? hook a brother up! :karate:

It doesn’t like any of the 360 adapters I’ve tried. Haven’t tested on Dreamcast.

It works fine on PS3, PS2, and PC.

Delete that other thread you made, please.

If you want 360 and DC support, the PS360+ is your best bet.

cool. dont think I get to delete threads. are you a mod here? you can delete the thread.
