ive never tested with ps2 but i can confirm mine works with ps tv as it registers as a dual shock 3 the wierd thing is it dont work natively on ps4 via the street fighter 4 and 5 and mortal kombat like the other ps3 fightsticks but it will if you connect via the ps tv
The ps2 compatible version doesn’t work as a legacy controller on ps4, but the pc/ps3 one does. As for the ps2 compatible version, I’ve had two, still have one- works correctly on ps2.
If it a) works, and b) does what you need correctly, it’s fine. If it doesn’t work, get a replacement from the seller. The more premium aftermarket boards have occasional failures as well. You’ll spend way more for the next logical upgrade (MC cthulhu) by the time you buy the board and get it wired up, not to mention the added labor. If you want the added features, the MC is definitely great, you’ll just end up spending a lot more.
I can’t believe you take your anti ZD sentiment as far as recommending a PC user a $90 (plus the cost of wiring) board over a product that works and costs $10-$12 complete.
The version that is advertised to only works on Pc (yellow one) is the cheapest way to build a fightstick for Pc… but that one also works perfectly fine with PS3.
You will not have a Home button function but the system recognized it as soon as you plugged it. I don’t know if this also works as legacy on PS4 so I can’t speak for that.
But I’ve been using this encoders from time to time with some customers that don’t want to spend a lot of money for a fightstick that will be used mostly with emulators and all these builds are still working. The oldest I remember was one of the two boards that I had when I took the pictures of the Mode button I showed in this thread long time ago.
So for me and with the personal experience for +10 complete builds, this pcb works as is supposed to and right now there’s no cheapest way to build a fightstick for Pc than using this boards.
the board i have which is the pc ps2 ps3
version wont work on ps4 as it registers as a dual shock 3 i discovered that when playing mkx on ps4 and wont use legacy
@Evolution169 - I have W7 64bit and all these boards have worked fine as soon as I plugged them to a USB 2.0 port. Have you tried to connect it directly to the ports from the back panel?
I have no idea why, but I also have this issue with my PS360+ on Windows 10. I’ve tried it with 2 different motherboards, one MSI and one Intel. I’ve heard of other people having the same issue with the ZDE and other Chinese boards and using a USB hub or PCI card to solve it. If anyone has a possible solution, I’m open to suggestions.
I’m wondering the same thing, as I’d use it mainly with a Gamecube adapter on the Nintendo Wii. I already have one of the cheap yellow PC/PS3-only boards and it’s really great, no issues whatsoever on neither Win7 32/64 bits, Android or Linux (Retroarch with Lakka)
First, the usb connector is working just fine on my pc. I have tested it with USF4 and it is just fine. The PS2 connector on the other hand is giving me problems. I can’t get it to work on my PS2. However, when I plug the ps2 connector into an adapter for my dreamcast it works just fine. It also works just fine in a ps2 to xbox360 adapter I had laying around.
Anyone have any idea what might be going on here?
EDIT: I know my url fomatting is garbage, I’m just going to leave it though. Shortly after posting this I messed with it more and what would happen is after I plugged in the ps2 connector I could actually get some inputs for a few seconds, but then it stops… so there is where I’m at. Works just fine on everything I throw at it except a ps2. Inputs stop shortly after plugging in on a ps2.
