ZD Arcade Control Encoder And ZD ReMatch (PS3/PS2/PC) (The most cost efficient PCBs to date!)

Can you elaborate more on this? I’m still thinking between the original and the rematch.

I’d say the choice should be between the original ZD or a Cthulhu. Great boards, I can’t find any flaws with either.

The ZD Rematch however has some minor issues that give the impression of shoddy craftsmanship: Horrible SOCD behaviour (Only relevant on an all button controller); Lack of a hat switch on PS3; it doesn’t work at all on PC unless you plug it in after booting up; it doesn’t work on PS3 until you press the home button to activate it; The cable that comes with it has both a USB and a PSX connector, meaning you’ll always the unused one dangling about.

None of these are big problems individually, but all together I feel they are reason enough to either accept the lack of a home button or pay a fraction more for the Cthulhu.

Edit

Hi guys, do some of you have any new feedback on the ZD encoder paired with ps2 adapters into other console, mainly dreamcast, gamecube and 1st xbox but i’m interested into any console.

Any lag or compatibility problems ?
Some people in the thread mentionned lag with a 360 adapter, and there were quick feedbacks about the dc adapters but not sure if people had really tested it in fighting games.

I know i could go the cthulhu route but zd would be cost me less and I need ps2 adapters anyways for unsupported console like neo geo and various accessories like racings wheels, classic controllers, dance pad etc.

This might be a silly question, but does this PCB (the yellow one in the OP, not the “Rematch”) support simultaneous inputs of opposite directions on the same axis (forward + back, up + down) or would these cancel each other out? I’m planning a DIY PC-only Hitbox so I would like to know if this PCB would do the job.

If you want SOCD, you would be better off with a cthulhu pcb. You can technically add SOCD cleaning to any board, but it’s a lot more work, and would mean more parts to buy as well.

Thanks for your help. I had to look up SOCD. After looking into this I can now clearly see benefits of SOCD cleaning but coming from a keyboard I’m actually more familiar with the uncleaned inputs. So I guess I’ll give this PCB a try.

Note that you may want extra button wiring for a hitbox build if you want the traditional 3 auxiliary buttons (not totally necessary with pc).

has anyone gotten the zd ps2/ps3/pc to dual mod with a 360 madcatz board?

That version is not common ground, you won’t be able to use it in a dual mod.

Just for future reference… NONE of the ZD board products is common ground.
No matter what version you use, they are NOT good for dual mods.

uh they are, or are not?

thanks though, guess ill just return and grab a mc cthulu already

ZD “rematch” gives neutral when back+forward are pressed simultaneously . That’s what makes some people say “horrible socd filtering” while others like Kowal think it’s a cool option.

I bought a Zero Delay pcb recently (not the rematch) and so far I’m very happy. My only problem is by default the pcb is set to emulating the analog stick for the direction inputs and you need to assign a button to switch to the standard POV hat. Is there any simple thing I can do to the pcb in order to always use the POV by default?

Sorry, I didn’t noticed that mistake.

No, they are NOT good to dual mods.

Trying to use this pcb on my sfv stick and its not detecting directions, regular buttons work fine and on ps3 i have no issues in any games.

Connect a button to the mode spot and press it with the system running.

Thank you so much I thought I was losing my mind.

The original/cheaper Zero Delay PCB allows SOCD, correct? (no cleaner)

It’s only the 2nd version “ZD Rematch” that has the L/R cleaning? How does it behave for up/down?

i cant find the ps3.ps2 version on eBay, anyone got any leads?
