The things you can do against Bison are ridiculous. You can also simply PPP lariat him out of his ultra. I EX SPD’d him out of the opening frames of an EX crusher on numerous occassions.

Anyone else having issues with high level fei long’s. Anyone have tips vs fei. I can out poke most of the cast I get killed in the ground game vs fei. So here’s what I know clp seems to be the only poke you have that isn’t destroyed by his poke game. To beat wake up chicken wing Kkk lariet. Is there something else meterless on wake if I think I’m going to get chicken wing. Also how do you tell the difference between the lp mp and hp chicken wing? I know full screen cw just exgh or lariet and once recca’s are too deep on you spd or ultra and cross up knees at the back of his head stuff his dp. Feel free to disagree with what I think I know I don’t really have any high level fei buddies to ask about this match.

look ono youtube at kilivan vs evans and/or starnab - kilivan is the best gief in europe, and starnab are the best fei longs in the west. Most of the footage will be from vanilla as kili only started playing super recently, but most of it should still help. StarNab & Kilivan are team mates so no doubt they play each other all day

hey, i’m a bison player and i’m planning to go to a tournament here in cali soon. i’m trying to identify the options every character can use to shut down the EX Psychocrusher as a getaway option on bison’s wakeup. For example, after the knockdown, ryu has jump in OS DP, chun li can downforward roundhouse and kick from behind, and she also has an OS c.hk or s.hk upon jump in.

What are zangief’s options to beat this escape option? If you are extra generous, please let me know how you option select/straight up beat EX Devil’s reverse and teleport as well :slight_smile:

From studying zangief, i learned that OS greenhand on meaty jumpin will beat EX psycho crusher, you can OS c.mk to go under headstomp or devil’s reverse (he’ll escape using this option, aka DR though), and that if i get predictable with EX DR, you can just neutral jump and headbutt me on wakeup. However, i’m most interested in how zangief beats teleport. I know the OS greenhand will take him close to bison, but i think bison will recover in time to escape again, but i’m not sure - i’d like to ask the experts. Thanks in advance!

I’m not an expert by any means, but I’m pretty sure Zangief can punish teleport with os hand to SPD. And from my experience, there’s not much Gief can do about EX DR except block. But that’s if you aim it at him. If you whiff you can get hit with EX Hand on reaction, but they’ve gotta be quick.

Maybe some of the more knowledgeable cyclones can give you better answers. Good luck.

Yes, but distance dependent (generally max range) and if your too late your gonna eat CH cr. mk > hado. He’s neg on a blocked step kick though so you can SPD IF you are fast enough. If you do prove you can SPD him, then he’ll start to jump away and play zoning instead.

i remember once upon a time 3K used to own Ken step kick/cr.mk shenanigans those were the dayz

God damn it. Blizzard is way too fucking unreliable. They should make it so that you can just mash it out easily on wakeup because as far as I can tell it can get stuffed easily by demon flipping Akumas or fajita busting Fuertes that have perfect timing. This ultra is seriously bad and hurts you when you need it most.

That’s why you don’t rely on it. o.0 In my opinion, it’s more to scare the person your fighting into thinking your gonna be able to land it. You don’t actually have to use it to instill fear, having it, and playing a tight game is what makes the ultra scary.

Sometimes a scenario comes along where you just absolutely NEED it on wakeup, and it completely shits the bed. It won’t come out no matter what. There couldn’t possibly be a better way to punish Fuerte’s wakeup shenanigans, and yet in such a situation it just acts completely fucking retarded. No I don’t want EX RBG you stupid fucking thing. This thing seriously needs to be activatable when you’re completely on the ground or it’s fucking worthless for those such occassions.

Sometimes I forget why I fucking hate this game. Then I play it and immediately remember.

So U2 question, does Zangief need to be PAST the 6 pre-jump frames, or will it activate WITHIN the pre-jump frames.

Makes total sense why this thing is hit or miss. Gief makes a living with well timed meaty splash stuffing jumps himself…

I just tested it out. For me, he had to go past the 6 frames, otherwise it cancels into a ex rbg.

U2 needs better range.

I was playing with it recently and couldn’t catch a a walljumping Chun, unless wall jumps don’t count as being airborne :\

Yeah, U2 is just a very very poor air to air ultra and its best as a punisher of moves coming down as you ASCEND UP, or moves coming up as you DESCEND DOWN.

The chun-li wall dive, theory fighter i think if activated low to the ground, you should be able to elevator up and catch her instead of trying to air to air her.

No problem, and if you see a El fuerte go for his tortilla thing on your wake up, its a guaranteed u2. IF you have the reaction time for that.
