I noticed that standing light punch beat ryus uppercut. wierd ha?
But dont stand to close, a little distance will beat wake up DP
why not just block?
why block when you can beat it? Standing light punch can combo into medium punch. And you beat those scum bag that do random dp
because if he does EX or you miss time/space it you could eat an ultra or some big damage… where as if he does an DP and whiffs it… you’re blocking and can do the same damage with less chance of being …
Because what goes up, must come down…take the chip if it nets you a 360K.

Im curious, could any of you gentlemen please give me a reliable strategy against ken’s j.rh? For the longest time i used the lariat as gief’s AA but against some characters its very easy to hit gief while he is doing this so i would appreciate a reliable and painful(for ken) way to stop this shit. I tried the neutral jump heanbutt but maybe it was my timing cause i got beat consistently, then i use the cr.mp which works but I would like another means.
if it works why not use it?
Oh i do, i just wanted to know if there were any other ways that i am yet to explore.
Crouching lariat beats or trade with Ken’s jumping HK 100% of the time.
was wondering what do you want to do as gief against ken cuz i have no clue how to play this match up ken seems way different from ryu and akuma and is dp is just weird idk wht im trying to do against him. I also have trouble against rose cuz her soul spark is so slow and if i try to jump over it i get punished i can beat dumb rose’s but, not smart one what am i looking to do here.
Thank you sir, ill go practice the timing on that then unleash it on kens online, nothing worse than being beaten by a strat you can predict but just don’t know how to counter.

If you don’t want to trade, you actually need to move up a little bit before crouch-lariating while he’s jumping on you.
guys i got a question:
If i’m a gief on wakeup what can I do to punish a backjumping Fierce punch rog… standing roundhouse is not fast enuf. I’m really getting ticked.
Boxer’s sweep push Zangief back. The only situation where you can retaliate to a jump back fierce from boxer on wake-up is if he sweeps you while you were in the corner. In that situation, you can s.HK, jump forward mp, green hand.
Otherwise, it is better to just wait it out, even if it frustrates you. The jump back fierce won’t hit in this situation if you just crouch. It sucks not to be able to retaliate, but that’s part the match-up. Past a certain point, higher level boxer players will stop doing it, because it’s just a simple bait that you should know to defuse already.
If anyone has a solution to this problem, feel free to tell. But I really don’t think there is anything Zangief can do on wake-up versus those jump back fierce.
Edit : If boxer sweeps you in the corner, then step back a little bit before jumping back… you can’t retaliate again, obviously. Just wanted to point that out too.
Heres a compiled list of some great vegas to fight against…let them know u added them from VEGAS LIST

I was wondering guys(i dont have a console in university to try this out) if you did, df.lk*3 -> df double punch would this make this combo easier to pull off? Cause i really want to add his ex green hand combo’s into my game but its hard to pull of consistently on a controller(or at all to be honest) so i was wondering if this would help.
“Holding DF, then D, DF + P” works for sure, because that what I’m doing. The method you’re describing might work, but it’s actually a bit hard to cleanly do DF, DF without any interfering directional inputs.
Oh ok ill try your out next time i have an xbox, i believe this combo(or any combo ending with an ex green hand) is one of the main things my game needs at the moment to really help my mix up and stop people from holding up back on my block strings.
