Quick question, I play Gief pretty casually, I remember Hugo could do standing 720’s…was wondering is Gief could do the same?
Some people claim they’ve done it, but it’s harder than 3rd Strike standing 720. I have not personally done it.
Will that work for his ultra and super as well?
Theoretically, it’s possible to do a standing 720, but I don’t know anyone who can move the stick fast enough to do it, let alone do it without breaking fingers or controllers. The best I’ve been able to pull off is buffer in the 720 while dashing, though I’ve found that to be rather impractical.

Try it first with the dash, you’ll see the inputs work. Then just do it fast as you can. It’s basically two fireball motions, forward then backward very quickly.
I’ve done this only a couple of times, not at ALL worth learning. There’s plenty of ways to buffer into ultra.
I hate Blanka
I watch some videos and it seems like most Giefs keep eating hori balls from less than half screen away and cant retaliate even with a EX hand if blocked. From full screen I’m too slow to react cr.lariat, but that’s my fault.
any advise for this sort of cheese?
I cant seem to ever push the bugger into the corner where he has less space to retreat backwards on a ball.
Spend a TON of time in training mode, learn the Kara greenhand. For info, look for the post on the gief forums.
If Blanka is doing pressure games/strings, then you won’t consistently ‘poke’ him out of ball, but full screen away, it should be cake to smac him out of it. If your having trouble against it full screen, then as JMerc said, spend a ton of time in training mode. Set the record to do random blanka balls (you want to vary the timing), and just practice smacking them out the air.

by sliding us a 5 dollar bill before the match for casuals. for a tourney…we are gonna need that pot prize…
Truthfully though…well played keep away, tag any jumpin with c.fp when you can, otherwise just roll away immediatly, wheel kick does well when not predictable, your command throw > ours when it comes to speed (I have no clue with regards to range). EX punches > s.mp, but be careful on those.
shrug My abel is average at best, so short of ‘just bein that much better than the Gief’ - thats all I got.

I can only do that shit buffering through c.lk so it doesn’t count. 
abel’s command throw isn’t faster, it just has throw inv, so you can’t grab him at all.
if you know your ranges, you can catch gief off guard with dash TT sometimes. god knows i have terrible reaction for that stuff.
hmm shrug stand corrected, either way it beats Gief’s throw >_<

yea, really just a technicality. throw inv does explain why abel’s throw will beat the fastest grab in the game (the ultra).
i’m just a nit pick haha.
The worse part was the same Abel player did it to me twice. So homey just read me straight up when he nailed me with it. Only reason I won is because its well Gief vs Abel…but he defaintly knew the fight better than I did.

I have One question does anybody know how counter or stop Akuma’s Demon-Flip Throw, I have no Idea how to stop this shenanigans. Besides getting a lucky backdash, seems like its unstoppable in mixups if its positioned correctly.
UD brought thought up about a couple week ago in another thread let me find it…wait it was this thread. If your default is like 50 post, its last page. Look for Ultradavid’s post on what he thinks the match-ups are, and in there the conversation starts, we then go for like 20 something post on how to get around it.
