Ya’ll made me feel better. I got my ass handed to him the other nyte and basically ran to thsi thread to read up on the match-up. Most dhalsims make me pause for a moment, but I get my groove, work my way in, and I’m gold. This guy just took me apart completley. Trying to ‘jump out’ only made thigns worse. I guess I’m relegated to my Sagat strat of early j.mk to snuff rh/TU. He’ll just TP away though =(, and I consume so much effort trying to get in I ahve no meter when I get there. I pulled I think two roudns with Gief. My rose…that was just …bad.
Yeah this guy tears up rose, he made me feel noob getting a perfect on me. I pick rose again and he quickly dispatches her. Then I only played Gief against him.
The stuff that he does vs rose im convinced nothing can be done about.
He is easily the best Dhalsim ive seen on XBL though, by far.
Yeah he got a perfect the second roudn agaisnt my Rose and I don’t even play a conventional style with my Rose. Her fireball is too slow, takes too much dmg, and dammit if his angles dont’ seem to cut right thru her. I got one good round in later on abusing my slide/c.mp pressure, but a good round doesn’t mean I won. He still pulled it out off one mistake by me. He made me want to pick Dhalsim back up again (he used to be my number 4 behind Gief/Rose/Chun…now he doesnt’ crack my top ten rotation). I guess I wopuldn;t have felt so bad if it wasn’t SO lopsided…some loses you take, but the guy caught some lumps, in a heavy offensive fight, maybe he got a great round in on ya, but the next round or previous round you lumped’em up something fierce. With Dhalsim, its all or nothing heh.
Crouch block
If she jumps at you, lariat.
If she does an aerial cannon spike, lariat(usually trades for me)
Cannon drill, block and hit with 3-4 jabs(It should be faster than their attempts at a cannon drill->cannon spike)
If she does that hooligan ball at you, lariat seems to beat it.
If she does ultra/super, block and punish with EX green hand.
Then just go back to turtling.
Eventually they’ll do walk up -> throw, which is down you your reaction time to stop.
It’s beaten all but 1 cammy I’ve faced so far. It should be a decent base to start playing against cammy.
are there any setups for “perfekt meatys” with gief? like jabjab spd or MK spd or such stuff so there is no need for timing? it seems able hase the possibility to dash dash ->perfekt meaty (i notice this in a fight while loosing 3 times ultrag)
by the way against firebal spammer my gameplay trasticlygaine when i start to turtel and pay theare effort with scrubis samming back with building ultra and ex meter to full or at least until they start to atack me;) and against turtel boxers Croushing MK into SPD is a nice way to break there defence
if she does Ultra JUMP!! lp-greenhand or HK into ultra (range dependend)
on XBL there is a replay from me against a cammy its not good at all (i played terrible and when i start to win my game get even more woers… its a bat habbit if i see i win i play more like a scrub … AND actualy i was chew a gummybear and bit myself on the toung in the 2. round so i was a bit distracted LOL ifanyody want a excuse for someting i hafe MUCH MORE left…) but you can see how to punish all here specialmoves (i accidently HP punshed here drill instead of spd it…)
excellent stuff in here. i was having some problems (mainly being dumb and jumping in on shoto’s too much) and after reading thru some of these strats, my games greatly improved.
What’s the most effective way in stopping meaty/crossup blanka balls. Just recognize them and block right? I’m assuming I can’t wake up lariat to beat that. I played a good blanka yesterday and I kept on freaking missing the SPD after a FA rainbow ball. It was pissing me off. I’d do it a split second too early before he hit the ground and I’d whiff.
would like to know if somebody found a actualy use for this move i found out that it sometimes (rangedependend) beat Sagats F-HK clean and it seem a good air to air move
Sim is my biggest problem right now i just back up and hop they move a few steps closer to me so i can make an attempt to get in close…other then that i cant do anything to them.
Ok now that I’ve played some decent players in G2 here are some problems I’m having:
1:What’s the best(or easiest to perform) counter to boxers who jump backwards and do that aerial punch that beats lariat clean? I tried Standing High Kick and it failed pretty hard.
2:What can you do against turtle ryu in general?
Right now most of what I face does:
-Hadoken only at a safe range
-Crouching medium kick + hadoken if I get close
-Standing High Kick or Shoryuken -> ultra if I jump in
-Sometimes they just jump straight up to do some kick -> Crouching medium kick -->hadoken
I try standing medium punch and standing HK to get damage in, but it seems like it’s not enough to win alot of the time.
3:E honda Butt splash spamming on knockdown. What are my options? If I block right, is it punishable?
4:What’s the range to jump at guile? Sometimes I beat flash kick, sometimes I don’t.
high block, walk forward. he can’t jump back anymore if he’s in the corner.
make them come to you, sit on your life lead, fadc/lariat fireballs for ultra meter. don’t rush them down if you don’t have to and know that cr. lk ->buffered ex gh is godly for knockdown.
3.block/fadc-> jab spd punish
best range to jump at guile is just a little bit outside of jab spd range, jump in with mk. if you don’t want to risk it just wait for guile to lose his down charge, then he can not win against jump in mk.
