Do crossup knees beat electricity?
in THEORIE -->YES
in Practice–> NO
BECOUSE:
blanka recover faster from the knee hit than you land so he will do a 2. electricity in the air and hit you after you hit him with a reversal hit BAD TRADE!!
That’s all I needed to know. So stick with Jab SPD and far c.RH?
you can jump inside his electricity and do a EXBeargrab while landing and Cancel it direktly into Super/Ultra
you need to jump inside his toe to get hit from his GROUND elektricity and not while in air and then perform a 720 +KK and then press imidetly PPP^^
good and easy and usaly a blanka will stay ele if you jump on him;)
Why would you do ex beargrab first it sounds like you can just ultra
i’m guessing because if blanka decides to jump away, then you only lose 1 ex bar and maybe some more life
whereas if you had just done ultra you would lose the revenge meter
becouse you jump INSIDE of his electricity and would get hit it the first frame so the ultra would wiff …
Anyone have a video of EX Bear Grab to Ultra while Blanka’s doing electricity?
Yes, I’d like to see a video of jumping into blanka’s electricity cancel into ultra. haha
just do it yourself jump in make a 720 while jumping in and press like a karathrow not as fast but fast KK-PPP the jump MUST BE FAAR away from blanka but close enugh that the elektricity hits zangief
its easy to execute
I’m not sure if this has been answered before, but I have a question about Gief’s ultra. I know it comes out in 1 frame, but can it be stopped on reaction if someone does a move with startup invincibility? For example, Ryu’s EX-dragon punch starts up with 3 frames of invincibility. If the ultra came out and he EX shoryu’d on reaction, would he get thrown out of the invincibility, or would the dragon punch win?
DP wins every time.
Thanks for the input. I was trying to get that to happen, but I guess my timing was off. I’d like to be able to perform it myself so I can say with 100% certainty that it works.
You almost have to predict when they are going to do the Ultra to pull off the move.
I don’t think 1 frame is enough time to input the move lol.
What he means to say is no, the dragon punch loses every time. If you’re on the ground in a throwable state and you didn’t input whatever you want to do before you see the super/ultra flash, you’re getting spun. It’s not that in this situation Gief would throw Ryu out of dragon punch startup, it’s that Ryu’s dragon punch never gets a chance to start up before he gets thrown.
Isn’t there one frame of start up on Ultra, though? Like, what if the command for EX dragon punch was inputted in that one frame?
If they were inputted on the same frame, then since the super/ultra freeze happens on the first frame after you input the super/ultra (aka the first possible frame it could take effect, which is what is meant by “first frame move” and “one frame of startup”), the person doing the dragon punch would have in fact inputted the dragon punch before the super/ultra freeze, and assuming the dp used was unthrowable (and aaik only Sakura’s regular dps are not), the dragon punch wins. If the dragon punch was inputted on the same frame as the super/ultra freeze, it can’t take effect until the next frame, so the super/ultra win.
Oh, I dig. I was having trouble understand what exactly was going on with everything in reference to the screen freezing. Thanks for the clarification, man. It’s really easy to watch out for the jump-in and stop it so that I don’t get ultra’d, but I’m only at around 5000 BP, and I’m wondering when I’m gonna start finding those opponents that are gonna crank the standing 720s on me.
Need help dealing with cross-up attacks from opponents on wake-up. I’m getting caught out a lot by decent players.
I thought I 'd Lariat or standing block, but either I’m not fast enough or I’m guessing wrong?
Thanks
no my comments on my previous statements or … am did i just not understand anything about the messiah kick and how the reversal was displayed…
