I like how all of you complain when a Zangeif always gets into Grand Finals of Wednsday Night Fights every week.

It wasn’t even Snake Eyez this week so you can’t use that excuse again. We all just gotta level up.

Zangief is always in the tops in early SF games, stu wasn’t even good, Chris T played like an idiot against Zangief, if you don’t saw it then no one can help you. He let him fles walk for 10 seconds than randomly jumped in and get flexed into trigger, then he is like “man why is this so OP” instead of "man why am I so stupid?"
Zangief is defenitly the “weakest” character in the game BUT the gap between worst and best is not as big as in other fighting games. So it’s not a big problem, he could just get some lariat buffs and it would help him alot.

Everyone here is all high level, understands the game down to the frame data detail. But I think they’re bluffing =)

I think its the change from 3 pre-jump frames to 4 pre-jump, on back and neutral jumps. Forward jump will still have 3 pre-jump frames. Big Z’s back and neutral jump remains at 5 frames pre-jump, so he’s not affected by the change. But he indirectly benefits, with a better chance to tag opponent’s during pre-jump for a ground combo.

For those that don’t know. Pre-Jump is the transition state from ground (crouching or standing) to jumping, during which you can’t block and can’t be thrown. But if hit by an attack, you will be considered grounded, and can be fully comboed.

How is that a buff? Now we’ve got one more frame to land Cr LP x3??? Wow.

Been playing like shit today, but also jumped in on a Ryu who did a shoryuken from under me, and I just scooped him with a hail mary air spd.

Played some ranked last night and proceeded to lose about a thousand points lol. My desire to play this character any longer is just gone. Everyone else is playing SF5 and we’re playing “cr.jab” the game. Here’s hoping Alex is fun so I can find a new main.

I just lost to a scrub Ken. I had a half life bar and he mashed uppercut on my meaty headbutt and it traded. He was mashing so hard that off of the trade he Comboed super. I know it’s a dumb thing to complain about but why he recovered faster than me on a trade when we are both grounded doesn’t make any sense. And I watched the replay it counted as a combo.

Yeah but everyone here’s opinion is irrelevant because gief is capable of winning…

That is kind of my issue with him he has good tools but the are kinda boring. I stared Gief in 92 and the gameplan was the same. Approach slow lose half your life getting in but one knockdown and the game was over. They kept the same gameplan but took out the one knockdown thing.
He would be much more fun to me if spd caused a hard knockdown.

I wish I knew how that works. Seen it happen rarely at times. Like a Double German Rainbow!!!

Did the shoryuken launch you into the air when it traded? Shoryuken right? and not Ken’s Crouching HP?

On a trade, you exchange your moves recovery with being hit by Ken. And vice versa.

If you were launched by Ken, your floating in the air. While Ken’s huge recovery is cancelled out by being hit by your Headbutt. And he’ll have more time to connect the Super. Probably BS that needs to be removed, I don’t think you should be allowed to land huge damage from a trade.

U can punish things that are -1, but u can only combo into it when you’re at least +2 on hit.
st.HP is only +1 on hit, so u can’t combo into it.

Ken’s heavy tatsu is -2 on block, so u can only punish him with CA.

one good thing to come from the system change will be when we have vtrigger. with trigger active walking forward pressuring with cr jab is a true 50/50 as they cant be airborn before the cr jab hits.

gief CA is 1 frame not 2, when gief does super to punish something that is -1. 1 frame catches their -1 so they can’t jump. If gief tries to do headbutt into cr.mp, the headbutt is +7 so cr.mp’s 7 frames are covered and the 1 frame link will work. Gief trying to use a normal that is +1 (st.hp st.hk or cr.hp) into CA, the 1 frame it takes for the CA to come out will make the opponent’s hit-grabbable state (or whatever you wanna call it) end before the CA can connect.

I must’ve messed up when doing tests with his CA on release. You are correct, it’s possible to punish things that are -1.

I tried this out in training mode
You can only air SPD Ryu’s light version Shoryuken, but you can not SPD his Medium/Heavy/Ex Shoryuken
Which means it is uselsss :o

Wow, makes sense though, there’s no invulnerability on ex spd (even the air version), but there is on shoryukens… This gets better and better.

What do you guys think your win percentage is right now? Are we all hovering around 70% and salty that we aren’t winning more than that? The wins in this game are so unsatisfying but losing hurts way more than any other street fighter. Still, I’m winning way more than I’m losing. I can’t help but imagine you guys are in the same boat too.

Around 70%. Problem is not winning its how every match feels like I am comming back from a loss.
