If you have meter, EX air SPD. If not, then F.HP.
Air SPD - if you close enough.
s.HK - for follow up/ mixup.
s.HP (uncharged) - if youâre not in range for Air SPD or you donât have not enough meter.
Btw, this is my last post in this thread for a while, I donât like all the negative posts hereâŚ
If you have questions about Zangief, you can PM me, I will always answer you if I have the time.
I have some questions here :360:
- Tip for using V-skill, it i think zangief v-skill is potential.
- Match up with Bison ( Dictator ) his HK and Cr.mp dominate every zangief normal.
- Strategies to deal with hit and run style, tied of chasing without green hand.
Thanks
Lucky you werenât in the Gief Ultra thread back then you would have quit after 4-5 post.
Do you guys change the direction of your circle motion depending on which side youâre on? I have a habit of always doing it clockwise and I it doesnât feel consistent when I try to dash buffer.
It almost feels like Iâm playing Hyper Fighting Zangief.
Sorta. (No Green Hand)
Anyone have footage of gief vs good nash? Feels like a 2-8 matchup when he can just throw balls all day and antiair you with the knee move from full screen if you try to jump over. If you parry they can just follow the slow fireball and punish the parry with a combo.
Something that might be useful if you catch someone doing a jump in with armored hp when they land it seems no matter what they do they have to block even if they jab they get crushed countered throw attempts get punched also.

Damn, I wouldâve thought this thread would explode after the game came out. How yall boys liking the Cyclone so far?
Horribly disappointed. I miss USF4 Zangief already. At least he had a 2-frame SPD that didnât get stuffed by everything and anything.

I would love to know this too. I have never played a 360 character before and I am interested in Zangief in this game.
Can anyone explain the best way to execute 360âs and 720âs on a stick on both sides of the screen or are there any good tutorials on youtube?
Thanks!
Iâm sure this is already known, but f.HP eats fireballs. IMO this is the best way to deal with fireball spam from mid to far range.
i havenât really had any problems with Gief, after you gain the advantage it is really hard for anyone to get him off of them, especially in the corner. The one issue i am having now is with Fang. Really donât know the match up yet but it seems like if he keeps the right distance on his specials he canât be punished. Really need to look at the frame data today before I play again. Anyone got matchup advice on advice on fang

Is there a way to make characters with 3 frames shorts stop disrespecting you on their wake-up after spd?
m&h.SPDs > dash and mashing cr lp beats it clean.
I guess I could close my eyes and do s.HP or ex Bear Grab, but cmon now.
I think people are underusing V-Skill honestly

You get nothing from LP and MP SPD. On HP and EX, you can do meaty F.MK and it should beat anything non-invincible. The timing for it is kinda tight though, especially if theyâre frame perfect with their wakeup jab.
This also works for bear grab and lariat (if they donât back tech). For bear grab though, youâre close enough to do walk up meaty F.HP, which is better because itâs +2 and it has a lot of active frames which makes it easier to meaty with it.

J. LK (the double knee drop) trades with Nashâs knee if you jump over SB. Still kinda sucks but better than nothing.
Just tried it. Yeah timing is strict but itâs something. Thanks/

Every FANG I played loved to do HK xx w/e
LPSPD should beat anything he tosses out.
Poison shit youâre just gonna have to take some DoT and slowly move in so you can punish his normalâs with yours, and with SPDâs/EXbear grabs. Careful of jumping in; that carpet of poison he shits out in front of him stays for awhile. Think it only goes away if you land a hit? Never fucked with him so I donât know how long it stays out for each version.
Iâd not use HP. The armor is great for nearly every other matchup, but Fang is full of multihitting normals and far reaching lows that also Multihit.
V-Skill might be good, but I havenât fucked with it much.
Was V trigger nerfed from the beta? I canât seem to use it to counter fireballs reliably at medium distance anymore. I need to be practically like st.mk distance away to suck the guy in. Which blows as thats the only counter to fireballs I know that can convert into damage. That move was what I save V trigger bar for to use against matchups like sim and nash.
Any pad players? Is there a shortcut for 720s?
or do I have to do 360 -> 540?
