Many of you guys say exSPD can be combo in, but I cant even find just 1 video proof exSPD can be linked
Is it really REAL and CONFIRMED? May I have just 1 video to confirm this? :s
Zangief just came out like a week ago. Gonna be hard to find any footage of optimal stuff or even basic new stuff like combo into EX spd. Donât worry, with time youâll see more stuff.
Considering Giefs combo game with his normals isnât vast, I would imagine they have allowed EX spd to be his main knockdown ender after normals.

reminder that super early on there were literally people who thought gief was a top tier character in vanilla SF4 because he was easy to dominate with âon their first dayâ
you just proved my point. grapplers always feel strong early due to high priorities, ridiculous stamina, and high damage normals and special on day 1. gief and hugo for example⌠they then get exposed, and barely have new tech on the character side rather than mechanics side discovered compared to other more mobile characters. The fact that gief feels slower and not as strong on day 1 compared to the entire cast makes me feel he will drop even more when people âfigureâ him out.
There is nothing Birdie or R.Mika dont do better than gief imoâŚand they feel really strong in their current state. Even after people figure them out and make them easier match up experience they will be in a better state after the fact. Gief will get exposed more because heâs not looking that strong </imo)

no grab range, I mean like, you have to be inside the enemy to grab them.

how can they design Zangief like a pussy in a game where the damage is so damn high, why can R.Mika who is 5times faster with 5times better combos deal much more damage at the same time?

âooh itâs too early to tell, Iâm a Capcom d1ck rider pls stahpâ guess what? Birdie Day1 had fucking high damage combos and you could see instantly that he is a strong character, same with Mika,Bipson and many more.
Yeah, no meterless combo enders⌠okay i get they want a proper grappler⌠but his neutral grab game appears weak, no damage, no range? i thought that would be a given. You have to be inside to do his grabs, just like ever other grappler in the game already.
Can you not special cancel into his lariat or something?
Also, Zangief IS âmissingâ something - he doesnât have his green hand. Of course heâs going to feel different without it.
That said, that doesnât automatically make him âbadâ. People who are playing him most likely are trying to play him like SF4 Gief, and itâs not working, so heâs automatically âbadâ.
Thatâs not some universal magic rule, there are plenty of grapplers that buck that trend. Even Hugo started out with people saying he was borderline unplayable or the worst character in the game, and now heâs kind of stabilized as a strong character thatâs easy to counterpick - a good secondary character. T. Hawk spent like, a decade, as literally the worst character in ST, and then people started to explore him and made him a solid character.
Even SF4 Zangief plays completely differently in Ultra than people played him in Vanilla. The idea that you can make any kind of pronouncement about whether a character (still in development!) is âlow tierâ based on âfeelingsâ is a joke.
The reason the SPD looks like it doesnât do alot of damage is because youâre seeing Light SPD. Heavy SPD does a lot of damage but has pathetic range (Naturally).
