is it me or is it just not fair how they give out rank points for example Ultra silver vs super silver…if super silver wins he gets like 90 points and if ultra silver wins he gets like only 55 same goes for losing
The points system makes absolutely no sense. I can win against somebody with 1000 points greater than me and only get 35 points but lose to somebody 1000 points more than me and lose 85. It either goes by player level or it is completely random. Either way it’s dumb.
sad part is im at ultra silver and I always get silver or ultra bronze opponents and if motherrussia frowns on me at that match and i lose thats friggin 100 points away from me and I only get 35 or 25 if i win

Really the match making system is weird I was Ultra Silver and got matched up against two platinum players back to back followed by a ultra gold. I’m still confused by the point system at times.
wouldnt really say worse, he’s not top tier good but if you know what you’re doing with him and good setups he can actually beast out

Yup Gief is by far the worst, it’s not even close imo. We’re talking high level not against online scrubs.
I was curious so I just checked distribution of some low tier character among the top 1000 ranked players.

btw since the only two top 100 gief players rerolled Ryu and Alex, currently there are no Gief player in top 100.
I wanna make this political correct. Although Zangief has horrible statistics, we can not say he is the worst character in this game. The statistics were highly depend on the player population and were not counting the rerolled players. In reality I think all members in this sub-forum know what’s going on here. Gief needs some serious buff or no one could protect our russian skies.
An interesting idea I saw floating around twitter today is training to react to v reversals by canceling into command grabs. It’s totally doable right? We get both the screen flash and roughly 10-15 frames of startup on the opponents v reversal depending on the character.
It would effectively make our tick/general pressure enormously better.
Should be doable considering I am getting thrown out of my v reversal all the time. Depends on the characters v reversal maybe?

It happens to me too. Lots of things can cause it. If you were holding downback, then dashed forward, then attempted an SPD your input may come out as 42644268 which would give you the eight opposing consecutive inputs necessary for the critical art.

why is your input for holding back then dash 426, i guess you’re not using a stick but never had the problem with a ps4 controller
never had that problem with a dash since i buffer a full 360 with the dash, just dont do the shortcut 360 on a dash since you have a lot of time for the buffer
St HP -> VTrigger -> EX air SPD is a really really powerful tool, it does so much damage and all you need is to land the HP, you have like 15 minutes to hit confirm, even I can do it, lol.
But serious, it can swing a round in such a major way, its a good amount of damage.
Also:
If you can hit with HP its usually because your opponent is aggressive and unsafe.
Hitting them with this massive combo gives them pause and makes them stop hitting buttons for a second.
Wakeup EX SPD after the combo. It works an astonishing amount of time.
if HP doesnt hit i still do trigger just to pull em in and c.lpx3 wait till one of em lands then do full trigger if the c.lp doesnt connect pull em in again and do SPD or super…mind tricks

What do you do against Alex’s V Trigger clothesline? He’s got one hit of armor on it so if you try to hit him you’re toast, it charges fast and then becomes unblockable. I have no idea what to do against it aside from jumping which still seems to hit me. Maybe the timing is just hard but at least if I get hit in the air I don’t eat a free command grab afterwards.
