Josh Wong knew about unfly before it was ever documented/explored fully and was applying it in local tournies. STSFN was more of a way of life back then (2001/2002). It’s 2009 now tho, with a lot less people playing this game hardcore. I can’t see the problem in sharing shit and don’t whine when people ‘steal’ your stuff.

Ive done 2 vipers like that twice. I get the jab and gun all the time but its such a small window to hyper again, it seems to only give him another action right before he hits the ground.

Right I’m just trying to make claim to something I had no idea about nor any influence on…what am I gonna get some sort of royalties for youtube play of the video?
First off I doubt you have any idea how it actually works, 2nd off whether you believe that I told magnetro that or not doesn’t matter, cuz fact is I told him. I told mmds and finesse about it also. I also told jake about it before this video even came out. Note those are all people that I’ve played with extensively and wanted to get better…Fact of the matter is there are still loads and loads of technical stuff that I know that people have no idea about and haven’t discovered for over 4 years. This unblockable being blocked is I think one of them…I discovered it a minimum of 3 years ago. Sure its POSSIBLE that someone else discoverd it…but the fact that its in a magnetro video and magnetro is the very fist person I told about it and he has used a laaarge amount of my stuff in videos I of course believe he got this from me.
Since you’re so uninformed about anything let me break this down for you. I originally started playing magnetro and thought he was good cuz he was doing hk cancels and because he had a name on srk. This was back before I was good at marvel and so I was all excited to play the dude. As it turned out I beat him a lot more than he beat me but I was still impressed with his play. I talked to him eventually and found out he was a techy, knew all kinds of minutia about the engine. I’ve always been a very technical person when it comes to stuff like that so I started sharing things with him. We exchanged lots of ideas. At this time magnetro had been releasing magneto videos. And soo had went PSYCHO on him for basically stealing all of his resets and putting them into his combo videos (there were and probably still are trackable threads regarding this). Before this happened magnetro and soo spoke a lot on aim, but shortly before the video was released magnetro and him had a falling out and soo stopped talking to him. At the time I did recognize some of the resets as things that I had never seen before outside of matchplay with soo, but I guess I kinda didn’t care cause it wasn’t me.
Magnetro and I decide to work on a video together, I explain to him several glitches and special properties that make for some disgusting combos. I begin sharing ideas he programs them on his program pad and its all good. Before I explain all this stuff to him (some of it I hadn’t told anyone and I had discovered back in 2k3 and I’ve still never seen anyone else in the marvel community exploit it) I point blank tell him, you gotta give me your word that you’re not gonna tell anyone else about this stuff, or use it in a combo video of your own. He agrees, I reword it to make sure he understands he agrees again. Then I share it he gets the program pad and starts working on a solo project without my knowing. I was young and not a christian at the time, and when I finally got wind of the video it was actually complete. He tells me “I’ll give you credits in the videos” I tell him him this is unacceptable and that he just better not use my stuff in his solo project. he then tells me “don’t get all jadinish on me” because the exact situation happened with him and jadon brown. Had I known that about the Jadon experience I would have done things differently. Anyways he was just insisting on using my stuff which pissed me off to see my discoveries being exploited by someone who just completely backed out on his end of the bargain. I flipped out went psycho threatened to put hands on him next time I saw him (used to be a really bitter dude) and whatnot. Instead he agreed to dismantle the video so that it wouldn’t get “leaked” on the internet accidentally on purpose like some of his other videos.
But he still wanted to use one of the really good glitches in video…I began working on a video of my own at that time. I make a deal that he can use it if he agrees to program me some combos. He does and eventually releases the video. Then he says “I’m too busy” to program stuff or “Your stuff isn’t good enough”. I again threaten him and for an exchange rather than be bound to make my video, he offers me a program pad. I take that and stopped sharing ideas with him. All the while mmds is sharing stuff with him and we laugh about how all the time stuff he tells him ends up in his videos.
Throught these experiences there were CONSTANTLY things I would tell him that I was gonna do in my next solo video that ended up in his. At the time reset videos were only one reset to finisher. Look at all his videos up to that time…I told him “I’m gonna make a video of reset strings” meaning just back to back resets… I’ve always played that way. Chunksta and norcal folks call it “going fanatiq” cuz rather than just rom for a while reset I would rom then do like 5 back to back resets i.e. rom sj short, addf otherside short, dash under launch (before they hit the ground) sj jab, add land, dash to the other side cr. short short psylocke). Strings like that. Low and behold his next video…reset strings. mind you he had released 4 videos up to that point and none of them had reset strings, but what can you do. Again I was young and done. I tell him "I want a combo with magneto fighting but I want the stage to transform mid combo, like the danger room stage on x-men cota and where does it end up? his video.
So basically yea, I told him about the unblockable, finesse, mmds, jake, can all verify I told them too. Just some things I don’t share with the entire marvel community cuz I think the majority of the marvel community isn’t good enough for it. When they suck bad enough to be beaten by me with only one assist button…yeah they’re just horrible.

Fanatiq, if you just told everybody about these glitches, you’d get the credit. Claiming the work is different from producing it.
Or just keep hiding your secrets and when something revolutionary is discovered, just take the credit because you’ve known about the glitch for years.

It’s not just taking credit cuz I’ve known it, It’s taking credit cuz I’ve known and told the individual who revealed it. But I gotta keep the edge I’m playing at a disadvantage on a ps2 pad cuz faggots insist on using console, so I keep knowledge to myself. I share with some people though, people who I want to succeed.

Magnetro comes up with a lot of stuff on his own. Some very interesting stuff. I.e. Holding up with sentinel’s super causes the character to bounce really high. I was there practicing sitting for over 30 minutes trying to discover how to make the person bounce super high off of a force field with magneto, which he discovered, I was just there being the training dummy trying myself and attacking him so he could try.
But he also uses a LOT of ideas from other people, and I don’t hate him for that, I just learned that that is how he is… he’s the “Bill Gates of Marvel” TM.
If I had to I could go and point out specific idea that I gave him that he told me he couldn’t reproduce and then messaged me about 2 weeks later like “oh yea I found out how to do that thing you were asking, and I used it in a combo, can I put it in a video?” I’m like …sure just program and capture this infinite using it. He told me 23487 times how bad he felt that he couldn’t reproduce it til he wanted to use it himself, but I wasn’t mad, at that point I was already used to him doing that. Maybe I’ll try to work on my video, but I just don’t have the follow through or resource to finish it.
Heres something I’m about 95% sure works with magneto but has never been done by anyone I know of… call psylocke in the corner, then do extremely slow, Jump forward, Jab, short, medium, fierce, roundhouse, rejump repeat…the timing is extremely tight, but if you hit them with a fierce, while you’re low enough to the ground but they’re high enough that they don’t get bounce recover, you can do it.
The majority of things I come up with in my head, just evaluating the engine and its limits, and figuring what can be tweaked to work. Some folks discover by mistake, I discover intentionally.

I can vouch for fanatiq. I was there alongside both of them during every single step of the way. This was way way long ago.
Those 2 + mike z were the 3 that were more into the game technicalities than I was. (and joo from japan). I highly doubt,** no disrespect at all**, that j360 and bhk go into the game technicalities as far as we went. I might be wrong, but the way we tried to exploit glitches and messed up technical resets was far beyond what you guys “see” little weird things happening in the game.
Even stuff the computer would do, we would analyze like crazy and try to figure out why it happens.
PS. I have to give props to BB Hood too even though he is not here posting, he also came up with glitches and even made a webpage dedicated to them.
whoa hold on there im not doubting you guys, i was just sharing some info on the cable situation thaw was brought up. Im very aware of how technical you two are when it comes to marvel and i respect that. I just dont think you should go as far as to think that i dont try to re-create those weird instances that the computer makes happen as well.
I come up with random shit all the time, and i figure it out through trial and error just like anyone else would. I wasn’t very much into teching until i met snakeshotpeople. We used to be in the danger room all the time trying out random ideas we had through out the day. To be honest i dont put as much thought into an idea before i try it out, i go into training mode and go random, then when a weird situation comes up i re-create it.
I was at evo spillin the beans on the c.lk,c.mk unblockable on sent all day. And then about 2 months later magnetro puts up the vid on the unblockable on sent with no cred to me =( (its all good). I just sat down one day and tried this idea i had from situations i get in all the time where im like “wtf i was blocking”, and viola i get this random awesomeness.
But in defense of fanatiq or mmds its not hard to believe that they knew these things before released in a vid by magnetro, it just sucks that if what they say is true that there were no indications of them being a part of the idea in any of his vids.
I’ve got a final and project to finish so I won’t go into all that other stuff…
I’ll just say this. I wouldn’t waste my time lying about a game. Shit will NEVER be that important. I won’t say one thing and do something different like other people who I won’t name…
Second, when did I say you didn’t discover anything. I made my statement b/c you told him so much stuff and he didn’t show ANY sign whatsoever of knowing the unblockable portion when I was showing him and exploring the inner most details of why it was working. At the very least he didn’t remember it among the vast knowledge you laid upon him.
P.S. No offense taken DS. You should get to know me better. The reason why I started playing BH is b/c I think he’s an unexplored character with all kinds of little quirks/glitches to manipulate. I watch every single Joo video with the intent to figure out how and why each thing works, and how to use it in a match. I even go so far as to look at the different cycles that MvC2 runs in, to see if there’s ways to do certain things under certain circumstances. I EVEN solved a friggin matrix based upon what cycles/frames the unblockable works on characters to try to get a better idea of why the it was landing when it did on a few characters. Ask Qu1cksand or TiMSP. They’ll tell you how my mind works when it comes to this game since I’m ALWAYS telling them things that you can do b/c of the game engine.
