nice! I have a feeling you’re gonna bring out the RCK since I have BH =P
go on youtube and look up Blackheart Explored. It’s the bonus section of the tutorial.
anyway, fanatiq, does this work on opponent wake up? Such as after sent corner combo into unblockable?
I wouldn’t think it would work on wake up since you wake up into a non-blockable state… ?
you guys hate on him yet, you wont just watch the video once, oh well magnetro <3
i dont even wanna play a BH player now
probably since you have no way to activate your GGF’s when you get up?
speaking of GGF’s. did fanatiq figure out the concept of GGFs and test and find out how many per character? Or did he just see that if you wait to block till almost before your hit, you can block the UB? I’m guessing it’s the latter…
Actually its the former, except I didn’t have two program pads to discover the exacts. I did put the sent on a snap unbloackable loop though. It was snap, dash back unblockable, fly unfly, dash up, repeast. I just broke it down that each character had a different timing, and that it could be done easier with people like commando, ironman, cable. People like psylocke = almost impossible (it still can be done, I’ve done it with her). Thing is like magnetro said its so very difficult because her GGC (which is stupid terminology and won’t be used again by me) is the shortest. Try sj canceling something with suki, easily 90% of the time you get a regular jump. Because its almost impossible to sj while tapping up for one frame.
It does not work on wake up at all, your only option is to tag, which works 100%. Btw if you watch my matches you can see EVERY TIME, I’m about to be unblockabled I wait to block til the last second, dating back to 2k5. This is probably about the 20th thing I’ve told or showed magnetro that he’s leaked. Ranging from never before seen infinites to tactical setups.
Lol. Then you can’t really get mad if you continue to tell him shit. Still dirty though.
I see.
yeah, I do the same for wake up (tag out) and even after doing it a few times the people I play with were like “eff you for mashing on tag” like it’s random or something
hmm, really, 20 things? I somehow doubt that, but even if it were true, that’s foolish of you then.
At least 20 lol, but some things weren’t things I didn’t want him to tell people, but he tells people stuff without pointing out “yea fanatiq was the one who discovered/influenced this” There were several things that I had theories on pre program pad, and I would tell him because he was the only one I knew with a program pad to be able to prove it. A good 80% of my theories have been right. Before I got a program pad myself I told him (wait, if you don’t block until right before getting hit, shouldn’t your block carry over for the extent of the unblocakble frames blah blah) then I tested it, and told him my findings… it has been over 2 years but wow he put it in a black heart video…meaning it wasn’t like a “while we’re on the subject” kinda thing.
Some things people knew but didn’t understand…one of them being super jump guard break. I had always discovered that sometimes after push blocking in super jump mode I could get hit, I eventually learned about advance tactics which I then realized carried over in the air, with sometimes negative results.
Anyways while we’re on this, another gem which I found which is harder to duplicate: Cable’s guard break can be avoided on some timing variations. If you block the gunshot at the last second, and just tap the button, and then go neutral, you can unblock and then get a second block unless cable delays it like mad. I.E. Ricky once attempted to guardbreak me, I blocked his gunshot, really late, then went neutral immediately. Clearly my storm left her block animation, then he did the super and I tapped block and got to block it. I know its two actions believe me or don’t…it’ll come out eventually. It’s hard to duplicate. Just like cable getting an action sometimes after an ahvb, yet before he hits the ground.
I guess this has something probably to do with transition actions.
Basically in the air you have one action, however somethings are transition actions… like you can block, and then pushblock. Though those are two actions they’re connected and sense you transition from one to the other its all considered one action, or “action string” if you will. In the same way you can block an attack and immediately cancel it to a psy spin or hyper or whatever and it works. Thing is, even after you block the transition frames are longer than your block animation… i.e. blocking clearly leaving block animation and doing a delayed psy spin or lightning attack or whatever. I’m pretty sure you can cancel a block to regular attack in trasition also, as long as the block stun of the attack blocked isn’t longer than your block frames.
Maybe I’ll stop being lazy and go ahead and finish my combo video and showcase some of my “world premier infinites” lol…I showed a few of em to yipes about 2 years ago.
Ey magnetro since you’re reading this thread, go ahead and do this lil research for me. I need to know if blockstun is attack specific, defender specific, or attacker specific. I.e. Do wolverine’s fierce punch, and Storm’s fierce cause the exact same block stun against magneto? and if so is the ammount of stun the same if done to say…psylocke?
Basically block stun is either gonna be:
Attack specific i.e. determined by the level of attack Like all fierces do x ammount of stun while all jabs do y ammount of stun.
By the defender i.e. Wolverine’s fierce does 10 frames block stun on psylocke, but only 6 on sentinel
Or Attacker specific i.e. Magneto’s fierce is 10 frames of block, but storms is only 7.
I know exactly what your talking about and ive been trying to replicate it myself. Theres been several times where my IM is coming in clearly blocking, goes into netrual with no sheild up, and then blocks the viper beam. Ive been trying to re-create this for almost 2 years now and have only had it happen 6 maybe 7 times, i eventually just gave up and only try it when im getting gb by cable.
Do you think that “GGF” is more of an allowance of block frames, for instance if IM only holds block for 3 frames, goes into neutral, then he would still have 3 frames left of block since hes in nj?
Yeah that may be a great explanations…but if you block an attack you are stuck whether you press neutral or not for the remainder of that moves block stun (unless block stun is not determined by attack) GET ON IT MAGNETRO which would mean the time when this works is if you block an attack (which has less block stun than your characters block frames, which then lets you unblock cuz the attacks block stun is done, and you still use the remainder of your block frames (aka ggf which sounds gay)to block) a 2nd time.
I would like to crack the case of cable attacking after an AHVB. I have done 2 things clearly.
1st, I have at full sj height done an ahvb and a jab on the way down before I land
2nd, ahvb near floor and had him take his gun out (fp) after the ahvb but the bullet did not come out because he landed before it can.
If he can attack after ahvb, that means there is a frame in there where you can do a 2nd ahvb the frame after the first ahvb which would break cable open to the next level.
There is another thing I told fanatiq about, but don’t want to discuss game breaking revelations here.
:headpopsoff:
dropping knowledge bombs
Marvel is awesome.
Just for the record, that info wasn’t pointed out by Magnetro. The reason it’s in the BH vid is b/c I discovered it on my own and thought I’d put it in there as a bonus. To be honest, I don’t think you even told him that “secret” cuz when he was watching me blocking the unblockable, he was tripping out like it was just too much for him.
Just a thought, but you are aware that you’re not the only one that notices little things here and there in MvC2 and tests them right. Just from the most recent posts you should be able to tell that you’re not the only one. And since you like keeping secrets, it should be obvious that eventually someone else will figure it out on their own, and tell the world cuz they’re not selfish enough to try keeping shit to their self. To be honest, as a Sentinel user, I’d prefer to keep that info for myself since it gives me just one more advantage. But some things are just to big to herd to oneself.
On another note, you and J360 aren’t the only ones that’s noticed that cable shit either. And I actually know how it works to a certain degree. Maybe I should be selfish and keep it to myself…
I can’t sticky your specific post, but I would like to.
heh :cybot:
Yuck.
Why are WC matches always so sloppy?
Also this.
I remember when Sage/me “discovered” Sentinel’s unblockable almost a full year before it was leaked out here in SRK; that doesn’t mean we were the only ones that knew about it or discovered it, many ppl discover the same things individually. Some tell them and some keep them to themselves.
And reflies when the game just came out, obvs we didn’t call them that or saw any practical uses then.
