Yo real talk Marvel does suck, people will just cling on to it. I play somewhat due to the fact that marvel is the ONLY game I ever traveled for. But Sanford honestly trying to explain to people why they shouldnt like it is like asking ST OG’s to stop playing ST. They are stuck in a world and dont want to move on. I used to love marvel till i realized that the same teams and style is used over and over again for 5 years. Its a waste of breathe… But on another note congrats to josh and arthur my FAVORITE marvel players. Cause they REALLY do still got love for the game so rep NY HARD!

If we believed marvel was so bad from the beginning, how many of the people posting now would have ever been taken seriously? It was a fight to even get marvel games on the same level as SF games to begin with, glad to see it’s appreciated.
Every game sucks in some areas, it’s one thing to talk about those issues in an academic manner and then accept it and play (or not play) anyway, it’s selfish to jump ship and try to discredit the remaining player base, especially if you then expect to be taken seriously in future games.
Also since i’m here I would also like to object to any player ever requesting control of their footage, if someone doesn’t want to be seen, they should not play in public arenas.
Actually, legally, Sanford has every right to ask Preppy to take down his footage, unless Preppy or the tournament directors had Sanford sign a release form, thus granting the necessary rights which allow them to record and post his matches. Also depending on the facilities, depending on their rights, they may be actually entitled to all footage rights depending on property rights.
Anyways, legal aspects aside, it’s a dick move to do. With all the accomplishments you made with Sent you should keep your head up Sanford, instead of getting depressed and asking Preppy to take down your footage.
Also, it’s not that Marvel is a bad game, over time games advance to a certain point where it just becomes almost the same thing over and over. Some Marvel players can’t stand always seeing Thrax/Matrix/MSP, just like many are bored with the Chun fest at last EVO.
Who knows, give it a couple of years, and maybe SFIV will degrade to just one character in the US (and I say the US because a lot of Japanese players actually pick a character and stick to them) and become extremely boring.
If you like an old game then play the old game, if you like always trying something new then try something new, or you can just mix it all up.

For me, SF4 is about comp and starting fresh with everyone. Unlike Marvel, where players are falling off the wayside and the learning curve is so steep that it’s impossible to train someone to the learn the game with the dedication and passion necessary. Still, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here- no fighting game comes close to the exhilaration of Marvel.

I was going to but one of the factors that negated the decision is that I’m getting a stick made for DC and since Wiz said he’s throwing all the DCs away before the tournament starts that means that it’s probably on PS3 or something else new and that means most players with sticks are fucked and people will have one button dashes and the like so fuck that.
Having TBA for MvC2 at EVO and expecting people to enter is like buying a car without checking under the hood.
Either it’s a plan to have no one come and completely kill off Marvel from EVO or MvC2 really will have a new release.
