I define “random” here as “hey that one hit just killed me, sweet”. I realize there’s lots of skill involved with getting that one hit : that doesn’t mean that it’s any less frustrating to the Sanfords of the world. I include myself in that class as someone who gets hit and dies. I’m not nearly that good skill-wise: I’m merely really good at getting hit and dying.
EC top players dont give a fuck about mvc2 anymore hence why sf4 is ONLY played in Nyc/Philly/Va ect. Jwong was at final round and entered mvc2 and played Horrible from what ive heard simply because he hates the game and what its become a MAGNETO whoring 1 touch kill a whole team fest. Well, i guess then NY is going to get new top players then since the old ones are done with it. Players like Josh/Arthur who been placing consistently so far are coming to those ranks. MVC2 is harder than ever, all the reason to stay. Just because it aint as easy for you to beat magnus anymore doesnt mean you should quit dude, your better than that. I will agree that SF4 is godlike though.

J360 is my favorite player at the moment because instead of crying about other players using Matrix, Thrax, and MSP he actually sticks to his team and tries to come up with solutions to problems (and wins) rather than crying about them.
If you can’t beat a certain team with your team then learn to adapt like Arthur did.
I don’t care how many people cry over Marvel, it’s still fun, and people will keep playing it.
Also, Marvel is still the most played game at CTF. All three cabs packed on Fridays for Marvel while SF4 is pretty much dead.

Totally, but I think it’s fair to acknowledge that one of the reasons why you would stick with that is because once you get that one hit, the entire team is destroyed.
Back in the day of THCs, you worked hard to get one hit that would mostly kill them, and that was the trade-off (hard work, high reward). Now the game has deformed into a state where you don’t have to work nearly so hard for that one “death” hit (be it by Magnus, Storm, Sent, or Iron Man), and you go from killing just one character to potentially taking out all three. This is a deformed game. It’s great fantastic fun, but it’s also mind-crushing against people who take it too seriously. 
How far does Josh get without the infinite? I think Josh has changed how people look at Iron Guy, but at the same time - that infinite is I think pretty fundamental to why Iron Guy can be played at all.
I think you’re one of the best players on the planet, and you could drop dead right now midsentence and you’d still have brought an amazing amount to the game and helped change the way people play.

Don’t anybody ever make the mistake of thinking that I’m ego-involved with my “skills” (and obvious lack thereof) in gaming or any other competitive environment. I play games (regardless of whether they’re physical or electronic) to have fun, and if me helping you win in a match against me doesn’t translate that message loud and clear, I apologize. I am a casual player and I’m OK with that.
People who are seriously interested can insult me all they want, but I’m kinda past needing ego validation from other people in my life. Imo, new guys in so cal/ny don’t even know whats good. They’re good on their coast, and thats it. Come travel to the other coast and learn how hard it actually is to win. Have a whole coast against you and win then you’ll truly understand what homecourt advantage is. lol. even then, the only people defending marvel are the guys who sucked for hella years or are the new guys. who cares. 9 years in, you better be good or ur just wasting ur time. Just like J.wigfall said, “I hope you’re good at marvel, the game is 8+ years old”. Game is fun, it always will be. However, don’t defend it like its some new shit, or like there is some new shit.
