Zachd.com/mvc2 video thread

MPEG1 sucks, but it’s generally livable. If it’s MPEG2, I’ll reencode it to something else. If it’s MPEG3, you’re lying. MPEG4 is still a PITA for most people to play back.

So: MPEG1? Sure, but that’s piggy as all hell and a really bad choice, generally speaking.

OK, the leeching banhammer I’ve talked about for seven months now has been applied. If you don’t think you had enough warning, grow up. Anybody downloading more content than is on the site is going to be banned.

Don’t use download helpers on my site. They work for you BUT cause everybody else to get slower speeds AND cost me $800 (or just kill the site entirely, as was what happend four months ago). That’s weak. :tup:

so I had them put in a Q6600 for now (they’ll swap it out for me when the Q9450 arrives) and that seems to be working fine and I’m able to capture AND do something else at the same time (AFAICT), which means it’ll be that much faster to encode

True, the Q6600 processor handles multitasking like a champ and it’s pretty good for encoding vids :tup: in other words, we’ll get to see whatever you record faster than ever before :razzy:
