How do you guys think I’m getting 6000 downloads of the B5 Alpha 3 video? Most videos get about 2000-4000 downloads. I didn’t realize Alpha 3 was that popular. There’s so many weird blips I don’t understand - like 11000 downloads last month of a horrible 2004 match of me vs Ian. WTH? I can only imagine that somebody’s POS “download accelerator” broke. =\
I’m probably going to ban those IP addresses I mentioned earlier - anybody taking over 400GB from the … 250GB site is just ruining it for everybody else. I need to not piss off my host.

I was starving Saturday night at FRXI. I had no idea where to get food there. Luckily some random guy (Marcus) had ordered lemon-pepper wings and a steak calzone from “Murray in a Hurry” (local restaurant) but didn’t bother to be there (or at least notice) when it arrived, so the delivery guy had been waiting at the FRXI check-in counter angrily for almost thirty minutes. I soothed him by buying those and convincing him I was serious about ordering pizza. He actually told me that they would NOT deliver to Final Round anymore because he was pissed as hell at having to wait. Luckily I was able to change his mind, so gave the food to Isaac and other friends. Then I ordered my own vegetarian pizza, and ordered three other pizzas to make sure I had enough to share with friends. The pizza finally comes, and Nick, Isaac, Fugee, etc other people I know start eating away after I offer them slices. We’re watching Marvel and so the pizzas are sitting there unattended, and TarkanX (I didn’t know who the hell he was until somebody later identified him) sidles up and grabs a slice and walks away. No feeble attempt to check in with anybody, ask, or anything else, just full stealth mode. :nunchuck: I took a couple camera phone pictures of him to out him.
I totally respect that people gotta eat, but taking stuff without asking isn’t cool. That’s how sticks and consoles disappear.
Most people who know me know that I’ll share damn near everything - shared my pizza, wing, adapter, joystick, house with locals - but it’s all about asking. I’m one of many who want to stop everything from quarters to consoles disappearing - behavior like that isn’t helpful. Embarassing people who do take stuff probably is helpful. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to catch the people who took Flapp’s stick or the PS3 at FR. =\
damn yo thats pretty shady. i know at showdown 5 you were sharing lots of pizzas as well. man that sucks good thing srk know about his bitch ass. but these stories are top tier cause it makes me wish i was there.

I can confirm this. I was sitting next to the pizzas at the time eating Burger King when the pizza was next to the station you were at. It sucks though that happened. Did anyone ever find Flapp’s stick?

No, so far I haven’t heard of anything stolen that was recovered. A couple were caught about to “borrow” sticks.

I believe I’ve just banned from my server/site large chunks of Brazil/Canada in an attempt to ban people who downloaded my entire site more than 3 times. The record was dsl-189-145-19-25.prod-infinitum.com.mx , who downloaded the equivalent of my entire site 13 times. That’s pretty great work right there. dsl.bell.ca , veloxzone.com.br , ibys.com.br , and sctnpa.east.verizon.net all ideally do not currently have access. I’d rather be overrestrictive than too lax and let this continue. It’s easy enough to tweak further as needed. :tup:
It’s important to do this and further restrict outright abuse so that my service provider doesn’t get pissy when I buy the hard drive upgrade. I may also look into the equivalent of mod_throttle, but I don’t know if there is that type of support for Apache 2. =\
