cr.LP, cr.LK, st. LP, st.MP xx dk
cr.MP, cr.MP, st.MP xx dk
I keep practising them but I feel there is something fundamentally wrong in how I approach it.
they both keep failing when i go to st.MP
Can anyone guide me here ? i guess i don’t feel the logic of it.
Not much to it other than to practice, if they keep falling out of the cr mp, st mp link then you’re not doing fast enough, if st mp doesn’t come out, then you’re doing it too slow.
I would think that Boxer/Fei are not necessarily bad matchups but just more challenging than others. Remember that fei’s dp is slow so he still falls victim to divekick shenanigans on wakeup and while boxers jab is good vs dive kicks, cross ups and divekicks on wakeup are a nightmare for him. I’d say its definitely 5-5 vs boxer and 4.5-5.5 vs fei at worst.
Don’t be so quick to shun out double tapping. Both methods of execution have their pros and cons.
If your opponent is constantly hitting you with cr.LP/cr.LK during dive kick pressure, the solution isn’t to dp. Yeah, eventually they’ll stop once to bait your random dp and then you’ll get an ultra to the face. The correct and future-proof solution is to aim your dive kicks better, like TrollThisSrk says.
Half (If not more) of the time, people don’t even punish his DP lol. My dive kick game is fine, but I love hitting ume DP against players who mash shit which are like 90% of players in SF4, Yun can make up for the damage if the opponent blocks the DP rather easily anyway.
imo
You double tap 2 frame links - it turns them into 4 frame links.
ESPECIALLY when plinking too early is going to result in getting a chain to come out instead.
Your success against random bads who cant even punish a wiffed dp are probably not particularly relevant.
I know you’re being sarcastic, but this is probably the truest thing you’ve ever posted.
Trust me, this game gets a LOT easier when you learn proper technique.
One frame links are dropped by even top players, frequently
Plinking turns one frame links into two frames - which most people can hit consistently, offline, with practice.
Double tapping turns two frame links into 4 frame links - which most people will almost never miss.
Nah dude, I was being dead serious…everyone, trust the dude that joined this website one month after AE was released. That was a “long time lurker” I’m sure.
Because you know, plinking a 2 frame link which gives you an extra frame isn’t easy enough already. And if you having trouble with that there’s another thing called DOUBLE PLINKING.
And top players don’t drop 1 frame links frequently lol, you serious? They do drop them every now and then but it’s not “frequently” unless they were having a bad match or something like that.
Look at how many times Ricky O. lands rufus st lk, st hp…it’s almost always.
I do double tap, but definitely not when I’m doing links, I double tap when I do special/super cancels.
Also, you can plink just about anything…punishes/links/specials.
K theres a lot of things blatantly false here so bear with me as I correct them all.
Your only retort is ‘he’s a new account’ and you have NOTHING AT ALL TO SAY that makes me sound even slightly wrong
Double plinking isn’t needed in this situation. Again, that is for ONE FRAME LINKS. By double plinking this combo you’re going to increase your chance of either having a chain come out or a slk, which does less damage.
Again - Plinking this BnB makes it a 3 frame link and if you fuck up, you chain a jab - not good.
- Double tapping this BnB makes it a 4 frame link and if you fuck up, you still get the full combo.
It doesn’t take a vertoxz to see which of these is better.
slk - shp with Rufus is a 2 frame link, because he’s plinking it. A true one frame link would be something like feis crouching jab, crouching jab into rekkas. Mago screws this up ~50% of the time in competitive matches from what I’ve seen.
Anything else? Or are you finished embarrassing yourself.
Last time I checked, 4frame links were easier than 3frame links.
You still have not addressed the issue of accidentally chaining when plinking too fast. The fact that you have to watch out for this, would make it slightly more difficult to execute than simply double tapping, right?
What exactly are you going to double plink with st.MP? Do you even know what a double plink is?
Rewatch NCR9 and take a tally of how often 1f links were dropped by top players. Ffs, even Daigo drops his cr.MP , cr.MP and cr.MP , st.MP links, which are both 2f links. (specifically watch Daigo vs FChamp @NCR9)
Not every character has the luxury of cancelling into a safe on block special like HP.GT. If you drop your combo by accident, you’re going to get punished up the ass. Or are we assuming we’re playing scrubs that cannot punish a whiffed dp?
This has absolutely nothing to do with the best way of ensuring the st.LP , st.MP link.
If anything this would be better than double tap, if you dbl tap you might dbl tap too early and not get anything at all.
Umm…you can double plink MP with LK and LP…do you know what double plink is?
Of course there are drops lol…but the number of hit combos compared to a number of droppd combos is much higher, and i’m willing to bet most people plink at a high level.
I thought we were talking about high level, if you miss the link you miss the link, a lot of times could just be having games, or just miss dbl tap/plinked that one combo…maybe some prefer dbl tap, but imo and from what i’ve talked to a lot more ppl then don’t even like dbl tap and dbl plink instead.
huh?
This is probably the longest post I’ve had in this website.
thanks for the insight on this guys .
I’ve been tryin this in the practice room yesterday . '
Cannot say i have a specific favorite in this matter.
plinking seemed to have better results for me, but it could just be me…
Don’t know the proper technique for doubletapping really, is it just really fast or in same speed as the other inputs ?
can someone tell me this ?
also, ive been lookin for a video where someone shows his hands doing this…
(to hear/see)
happened to come across daigo here : http://youtu.be/8LjTecnaWVM
i think the combo is at 0:33 seconds , does he plink at st.mp ?
