Close standing light punch.
Quick question guys! is it possible to combo into a cst.MK?
http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Super_Street_Fighter_IV_AE/Yun
No, cl.MK has 7f startup and the max FA Yun can gain from any of his normals is +6.
Is it necessary to be able to do cr.mp cr.mp s.mp to play Yun effectively? Is the reason for this essentially to be able to throw out cr.mp in footsies and hitconfirm into combo or go into a blockstring? I’ve just been doing light light s.lp s.mp for combos, and basing a lot of footsies around s.mp. Two frame links are too hard for me to do 100 %
By the way how tight is s.lp to s.mp? This one has super easy timing for some reason.
s.lp to s.mp is also a 2 frame link. Just practice it a bit, cr.mp, cr.mp, s.mp is always the same timing, if you’re not a complete fail in rythm you’ll have this down in a few minutes in training mode even without plinking.
After divekicks I prefer cr.lp or cr.lk because of the faster startup (cr.lp 3f, cr.lk 4f, cr.mp 5f), but the mp combo is his most damaging BnB…
Hey guys is it me or must you plink most of Yun’s moves. I’m doing c.mp~lp, c.mp~lp, st.mp~lk to get the** c.mp, c.mp, st.mp xx" " **to work consistently. Also the simple **c.lk, c.lk, st.lp, st.mp xx " " **I have to do like this c.lk, c.lk, st.lp, st.mp~lk xx " ". He’s a fun character but damn lol.
You don’t have to plink if you don’t want to. As someone who has mained execution heavy characters (Ibuki, Cammy, etc.) where 1f links were very common, Yun’s array of 2-3f link combos are very easy for me to do, with or without plinking.
I guess you’re right I’m used to simpler characters lime Balrog, Ryu, Sakura, and Dudley. Yun requires more execution then dose 4.
Horrible question, but it’s really nagging at me. How the hell am I suppose to time a crossup divekick on their wake up? I can do it most of the time, but it kills me that I am not perfect with it yet. Any tips?
The low kick one hits as cross up on wakeup … just do it as you would normally jump to cross up someone on their wakeup.Continue with a cr.lp xx something xx mk upkicks as ender.
You can meaty low strong and link into close mk.
Just saw this video in the combo thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUJWE9kayFM
How exactly do you perform the kara palms? I understand what kara-ing something means, but I’ve never really done kara stuff with other characters. Is it like MP~QCB+HP?
He explains it in the description
Since my execution with Yun is pretty garbage I’ve been using s.Roundhouse xx lp Lunge Punch s.Roundhouse xx lp Lunge Punch (repeat) during Genei Jin since I’m still getting the normal Genei Jin combo down. It’s kind of really, really easy to do and can end in ultra. It can carry all the way from one side of the screen to the other and from what I can tell is worthwhile damage.
Is there any reason I shouldn’t be doing this? More damage scaling, etc? I feel like I’m cheating or doing something wrong, but it hasn’t failed me yet.
There’s no rules in street fighter.
How do you plink MP?
Press a weaker button such as LP or LK immediately after you press MP. By immediately I mean somewhere around 1/60 of a second after you press MP.
Ah. See, I heard someone say to kara s.mp with palm, which you wouldn’t be able to do that way because you’d just get a mp palm. Must’ve been a typo
Do both MP~LK and MP~LP work? What’s the preferred way?
Yes they both work. MP~LK is preferred since LK can be cancelled into Upkicks without worrying about whiffing, in case you mess up the plink.
