anti air them?
Well generally if a character is jumping back to get away from you diving on them, then after you land from the dive lk dp them for their trouble. If they’re just jumping back for no reason, then just walk forward cautiously and look for something to allow you to get the advantage.
Main thing that’s bad about the Ken matchup is f + mk. Other than avoiding that normal, just follow the normal protocol that you would vs any shoto.
Hey where’s that FEI LONG info you promised a while ago OP, im dying for that!
how do you beat adon?
A battle against Adon is a complete battle of space. Build meter with palm safely when you are far away, however be aware of his jagular tooth which can hit you from full screen away (although there is obvious day). Adon will try to pressure you with Jagular Kicks and Air Jagular Kicks. You can focus though Air Jagular Kicks and punish them. If Adon’s being predictable, you can easily dp his jagular kicks. Yun’s normals beat out Adon’s normals easily, so you want to poke him a lot through close range. Be aware that he can heavy jagular kick you (a vertical jagular kick essentially), so dp that. Good adon players can mixup their jump-ins by doing a JHK/JMK —> Instant ReJump MK —> Air Jagular Kick which hits you as an overhead from above. Adon should also have a safe jump against Yun from a forward grab. Always look for Adon when he sticks out his standing roundhouse. That’s a cue for you to divekick right after at his recovery frames. You can easily pressure Adon since he does not have a good reversal. That’s about it I guess. It should be 6 - 4 in Yun’s favor.
Yun vs. Adon:
This matchup is in Yun’s favor around either 6-4 or 6.5-3.5. Yun has a lot of tools to keep Adon out from trying to get in with his Jaguar Kicks. Whether he uses the normal or instant air Jaguar Kick, this can be beaten by Yun’s standing medium punch when spaced properly and anticipating the Jaguar Kick. Same goes for Adon’s Jaguar Tooth, but the EX version will trade.
What to do on Adon’s wake-up:
His wake-up option will most likely be using any form of Rising Jaguar to get out of Yun’s pressure. When he does not have meter, feel free to pressure on his wake-up. All of his variants without meter have no invincibility; you can perform a meaty attack and perform dive kick mixups to stuff his reversal DP.
Safe-jump setup on Adon:
After a forward throw, you can safe jump Adon due to the fix on his wake-up timing after an untechable knockdown. If you look at the safe-jump setup thread, you can see the setups you can perform on Adon, along with other characters in the cast with 4+ frame reversals.
So just remember, space yourself, use your st.mp to beat his Jaguar Tooth approach, and when you get the knockdown, feel free to pressure till he has meter.
6.5-3.5? Your reasoning? It doesn’t feel that way to me.
Adon players love to jaguar kick or wall dive in, anticipate it and react with lk.up kick, beats jaguar kick straight out. If you can’t react to it, you can fish out the jaguar kick by spacing yourself at the maximum lk.jaguar kick range, and neutral jump over it and punish.
I feel that it is 6.5-3.5 because Adon has very limited options when he is knocked down, all of his approaches get beaten easily (Jaguar Tooth gets beaten by Yun’s standing medium punch normal attack, a mis-spaced Jaguar Tooth is just asking for a heavy punish, which leads him to the knockdown where you can stuff his wake-up), and as a result his zoning game has to be on point. Yun just has to keep him in the zone where all of his approaches will be beat, and when the knockdown opportunity comes, get in that ass.
He has a fadc’able DP to wake up with, that alone makes his wake up game better than most of the cast, including Yun’s. Adon does not have to rely on his jaguar kick to get in, he has a good range of pokes.
edit: we need more MU discussion… this thread isn’t going anywhere.
what the best chain blockstring to beat bison spam c.lk? i tried c.mp, c.mp sometime work sometime is trade.
Here’s some Honda tech for those having trouble punishing buttslams from above.
Punish buttslams above you with close st. mk. This is a key thing to do because from the close st. mk, you get to juggle lp shoulder, mp lunge punch/ex shoulder for great damage.
Sometimes the close st. mk will launch the Honda player closer to you, and if that is the case, you can U1 after the close st. mk. You have to be really paying attention to the distance, but it is something.
Im having big problems with good dudley players for some reason. What’s the general strategy in that match up?
Any tips on the rufus matchup? I’m completly lost there >_>
I think i found a good option against his messiah follow-up:
nj.L divekick (same height as the messiah overhead) -> cr.jab -> combo
Should beat overhead and roundhouse.
So im having trouble against cammy. Her buffed normals are really good at keeping me pinned down and im having trouble escaping her. ANy tips. I can safejump her dp pretty easily and punish it. btw do you guys know what can punish spiral arrows if they hit too deep
Biggest punish for spiral arrow would be cr.mp x 2, st.mp xx Lunge Punch/Dragon Kick, or Ultra if you have the meter.
can anyone help me with balrog (boxer) match up recently went to arcade and got owned by every balrog player
How do you beat Guy’s drop elbow? It seems to beat upkicks and I can’t find a jumping normal that beats it.
Try using c.lk, it makes yun’s hurtbox smaller so the elbow tends to whiff if you time it right.
is there a place where i could see yuns match ups on text cause when i click on them here there is nothing there?
what can i use to beat roses slide ? like on block
also what are my best normals against her ?
