Dudley vs Yun is 6:4 in Dudley’s favor it looks like.
What kind of Dudley throws out EX MGB? That move’s -8 on block should NEVER be used outside of a combo ( not even for chip since there are better, safer options for chip KOs). Dudley’s Jump Fierce should beat every thing Yun does in the air btw. Unlike Cammy he has NO air grab and unlike rufus he has no (bullshit) jump roundhouse that adds juggle. Yang looks like he can compete with Dudley since he has better footsies and EX slash can beat anything Dudley whiffs on reaction.
It’s whenever the Dudleys that I’ve played messed up their cr.lp, st.hk xx ex machine gun combo, which was very few and really far in between. Of course any sensible Dudley player isn’t going to just throw that move out thinking they can get away with it.
Everyone on that list I agree with except Gief and Blanka.
It’s debateable about Gief but why does blanka beat yun? I know if he has ex and a down charge he kills any jump in pressure outside of full screen nuetral jump. Outside of that I can’t see it. What’s been your experience?
He can elec any dive kick for free on reaction, so you’re forced to play on the ground. Thing is, his ground game is better than yours :p.
Of course, I’m talking about actual GOOD Blanka’s, ones that don’t let you run your shit on for free. Daigo even thinks it’s in Blanka’s favor.
Yun loses to Gief, but not by alot, it’s just a solid 5.5 or 6. Gief, like Blanka, restricts the game to the ground, and FYI, his ground game is also better than yours, but It’s definitely still winnable since you get more damage of a hit confirm, and palm is GDLK in this matchup.
Random tidbit, Genei-Jin is FAR from overrated, definitely best super in the game hands down.
Hmm… Ok. I still don’t see it. I think neither wins outright on the ground. By neither I mean blanka/gief.
But I’ll take your word until get an opportunity to play a blanka who knows the matchup in and out.
As far Genei-Jin is concerned easily the best with a close 2nd being Yang’s Seiei Enbu.
If yang had more ways to combo into it he’d be first
Sagat seems to fair pretty well against Yun so far from my experience.
Most of the time vs other projectile characters, it’s build meter with palm and EX shoulder to kill projectiles. But with Sagat iirc it’s the low tiger shots, Yun can’t go through or was it the other way around? I forget, whatever the case. So with that, the game becomes all about inching towards him and pushing him towards the corner. Can’t really jump against him, really gotta jump sparingly.
I try to build meter with Palms, but since he can throw out fast and slow shots. The fast ones will eventually clip you for building meter. Just outside of EX Shoulder range is where Sagat should be throwing slow high shots, followed by a knee or kara-uppercut in case Yun tries to j.HK divekick to cover ground, all divekick versions slow to knee though. Within EX Shoulder range, low shots will stuff it. Then once youre in mk,hk,c.hp are all pretty good keep out tools for Sagat.
I dunno I used to play Sagat for a bit as well, and been having trouble with Sagat’s lately. With Ryu it’s not so bad, Yun it’s just all about staying back building Super/Ultra with palm/focus and go from there. Kind of a boring match.
I’ve been playing Yun everyday after school since the past few months, so I might help with some.
Yun v Blanka is insanely hard.
But is it not really a one sided match-up but its definitely 5.5 in Blanka’s favor. Twins are masters of pressure but Blanka with his major variety of safe ‘get-away’ moves makes it kind of hard. His balls on block, is punishable at any range. Ex up ball if whiffed, gets punished full screen U2 but you miss like 50% of the damage. Electricity hurts bad and shuts down pressure or frame-traps with st.MP but on wake-up, palm strikes beat it clean if meaty. Far st.LP misses Blanka. I think its a bug. cr.lk st.lp st.lp misses.
I don’t know, I feel that I’m writing against Blanka’s favor but it definitely feels in Blanka’s favor to me. Or I just suck at fighting him XD.
Yun v Gief is harder.
Lariat shuts down dive-kick, lunge punch and shoulder tackle. The only way to do this is to get lucky with the palm strikes or as usual, play footsies. IIRC, meaty palm strike trades with wake-up lariat but gets beaten clean by SPD/Ultra 1. Make 1 mistake and he catches up on the health. Dive-kick, if not used properly on hit or counter hit, he can SPD or Ultra.
Gief is not as difficult a match as most would make it out to be.
The only poke that’s threatening is st mp and new spd range.
Whiffed st mp can be punished on reaction.
Every other poke he has is either too slow or doesn’t have enough range.
I think when it all gets figured out I think it will be even.
THawk on the other hand is a bitch.
He has better pokes than Gief. He’s difficult to consistently anti air.
He has the 50/50 that Gief lost. He’s an all around more difficult match up.
The only thing he lacks is Giefs spd range but he doesn’t need it due his pokes being superior.
Not a bug, Blanka just has THAT small of a hitbox when crouching. For Blanka, if they’re crouching, do cr.lk, cr.lk, st.lk xx lp.lunge instead of other regular B&Bs. Of course you could just mix in some more command grabs.
Is the OP going to be keeping up with this thread? If not I’d be happy to take it over. I have a free hour or so everyday and It’d give me something to do.
