Right thanks for clearing that up for me
Batterymen is an OTK archetype, but compared to other OTKs it is a bit more vulnerable to counters because it relies on having all three Batteryman AA on the field.
If an opponent manages to remove a Batteryman AA from the game, your entire combo is broken and youād need Return from the Different Dimension just to get it working again (whereas an OTK like Demise OTK would have several copies of Demise/ARA and only needs one for the OTK - if one is destroyed, thatās ok).
On top of that it is vulnerable to the usual OTK counters, spell cards being countered/negated/denied, skill drain/royal oppression, not drawing the necessary cards quickly, special summons being denied, opponent stalling with cards like Cold Wave, etc.
Gadgets are a more supportive archetype, they provide deck thinning and card advantage to every deck theyāre in. You will rarely see a pure Gadgets deck, but you will often see Gadgets paired up with other archetypes that they support very well - Psychic Gadgets, Monarch Gadgets, etc.
Deck thinning is good for obvious reasons. Card advantage allows one to use cards like Lightning Vortex while remaining at +1 or +0 card advantage. The gadgets can also be used as fodder for Synchro Summons, Machinas, or Chimeratechs, as they are all Machine-types.
Ok had some points over xmas and no idea what to burn them on i picked this up since i would watch the cartoon w/ my lil cousin and he told me to get it. I did the tutorial that is in the game since i have never played any type of card game. I got the basics of the basics down. I have no idea how to even begin to build a deck. The computer just wrecks me, seems like they know exactly what trap cards i have set, and they build fusion monster cards within the first few turns and i have nothing to defend against it w/ the cards available to me. Is there a better tutorial somewhere out there specifically for this game. Ive had nothing but frustrations so far especially against the computer as it seems they always have exaclty what they need when they need it.
Looks like we got a new Yu-Gi-Oh series coming out called Zexal.
Apparently, thereās going to be a new way to summon monsters similar to how Pokemon evolve in the Pokemon TCG.
Main character looks dumb IMO.

i like him alot more then the 5D main char.
So how does the current meta game look like today? Last thing I remember was that black wings were raping everything.
all about them light/dark decks maen
Thatās still the case lmao.
Meta is fairly diverse right now. Everything is going to go to shit however in a few weeks
Iām a Beyblader, one who Beyblades.
The Dr. B Beyblade combines Bulletball Catchra with Hungry Hungry Hippos Limit Breaking. Picture it, if you can/dare.
If your talking about the new six sams, then yeah iāll be hating on this format until Konami decides to drop ZE HAMMA on six sams. Restrict Gateway to 1 and limit Grandmaster and one of the new six sams.
dark decks have never been weaker comparatively in any other meta (besides blackwings), and light decks are okay (tethys turbo is good but inconsistent, though fairies in general will be getting great support with the new structure deck).
yeah I love the meta right now.
quickdraw / debris hime
blackwings
x-saber
lightsworn
machina gadgets
perfect herald / fairies
EDIT!
gravekeepers
absolute zero?
(probably forgot some, but those are all competitive)
I probably forgot some, but yeah. I still play zombies. I have two builds: the regular (good) build with mali, e-tele, and krebons, and my new build Iām trying to make⦠trying to make skull servants competitive dammit lol
Thereās a lot more viable decks now in tournies but right now the meta is dominated by these decks:
-X-Saberās in North America only because the OCG doesnāt have dark soul, boggart knight, and emmersblade which were all TCG exclusives and are pretty vital to the deck.
-Whirlwind Blackwing despite Whirlwind and Allure being limited. The deck list hasnāt change much with only slight modifications to compensate to the constant fluctuation in the ban list.
-True Six Samurai. I havenāt seen the deck in action myself but judging from the common deck list the deck has speed, field presence, and ways to recycle monsters on a consistent basis
-Angels/Fairies - The new structure deck has changed the deck type altogether and it has a lot of control and now a synchro engine.
-Debrihime - Itās a modification of the old debrihime but essentially works the same way.
The anti-meta decks are always good but inconsistent against random decks. Frog Monarchs are seeing better placement nowadays. Dragunities gotta a significant boost with Valley of the Dragons but there still missing something to put them over the top.
I think my absolute favorite deck right now is Dragunities and then X-Sabers. I played those archetypes before they got popular and top tier but the new support cards make them even more fun because the card combos you can do with either deck is ridiculous.
I saw the phillipines had an interesting Dragunity deck with Buster Mode Stradust and Red Demon but Iām liking the more consistent build of just synchro swarm with Lavetein-LADD back up. I was thinking of trying to get a fast draw engine Dragunities with 3x Treasure of Harmony (6 targets of Phalanx and Arcueis), 3x Trade-in (6 targets with LADD and Lavetein), and 3xPot of Duality but I donāt think it would be consistent enough to make those big pushes quick enough. Half to do some lab work.
As of right now, the top 3 decks in this meta have to be Gravekeepers, Plants/Debris, and X-Sabers. I think when the new Six Sams come out, itāll be the new X-Sabers. I run GBās so Sabers and Plants are my worst match ups.
Dragunity could be a new threat once the structure deck comes out, but itāll have to compete with Six Sams and all the other already broken decks out there. And yes, I really hate the fact that Six Sams are turning into old school lightsworn.
somehow, i think gateway of the six (and genex ally birdman, for that matter) will be limited before we ever get a chance to touch them in the tcg
anybody know if they are gonna update the game with new cards?i really wanna make a toon deck;(
Thereās no confirmation yet however, Konami is starting to actually make Castlevania HD have great DLC so maybe.
I suggest though, if you have a DS get WC 2011 in March 1st.
I think iām gonna go pick up the Wii Duel Transers due to the updated ban list and 4,500 cards + online.
And I just bought a box of Tactical Evolution Boosters, 20 of em.
I didnāt get Vennominaga sadly⦠but I got the means to make a deck with her, I just purchased two Vennomin Kings and Naga + the other card that goes with her. Since I just got back in the Yu-Gi-Oh game from being out since the Pharaoh series my cards were old and out dated.
I plan on making a venom deck then a Plant deck one day.
Plant decks are pretty pricey now. Lonefire Blossom is getting really hard to find and you need to run Pot of Duality.
Common Lonefire: $5
Rare Lonefire: $10
Super rare Lonefire: $30+
I purchased a Vennominaga on Monday got her for £27 instead of £81, the only thing is I gotta make a decent competitive reptile deck which may be a bit tough.
Will anyone be running a Malefic deck? I think Iām gonna try them out once they get released and once Iāve bought 2 Rainbow Dragons.
