Yu-Gi-Oh! Extreme Victory out May 10th!

Oh, I know. I actually know how to run a Yubel deck and got everything planned out just Ultimate Nightmare cost 30 bucks XD
thanks though, I should be able to complete it soon.

@Sensei check the first post of this thread, a few games and how much cards are in them.
I personally prefer gameplay wise Yugioh decade duels for the XBLA but, it only has 1,000ish cards sadly.
;(

I am convinced that Dragunities is a tier 1-1.5 deck. The deck performs so consistently against the current meta decks right now. They fair just as well against X-Sabers, True Six Samurai, Agent Angels, and Debris-Dandy variants. I’m running a Blackwing variant of the OCG meta and it’s been working really well. I still need to tweak the monster line-up a bit but the deck performs really fast but can transition into a late game. It can get any level 6 or 8 monster as easy as turn 1 and can get some ridiculous monsters like Scarlet Nova Dragon at the drop of hat or Trishula in 1-2 turns.

Lucretz:
Your deck list is all over the place you need to focus your deck towards a strategy like control, burn, field swarm, etc… It’s generally not a good idea to have multiple strategies running in your deck that don’t work together to form a coherent strategy. You basically what to think what is the win condition of my deck and how can I get there. Then you work on things like what do I expect to face in duels and how can my deck handle it. Researching the meta on a broad scale and on a local scale is good so you can tech towards those strategies.

Sorry, but in today’s meta that deck is completely unusable. To answer your questions, over 40 cards is bad because it makes your deck inconsistent no matter how good some of the other cards may be. You want to keep it at 40 because depending on the focus of the deck if you narrow it down to 40 you’ll make drawing into key cards more consistent then saying I have a deck that can cover a lot of things if only I drew into them at the right time…

The reason old school decks are not competitive nowadays is because meta has changed significantly. In general, unless your Monarchs or Inverz tribute summoning is too slow and ATK buff cards are incredibly inconsistent because it’s usually a -2 to you when you lose the monster and the ATK boosting card. Pure ATK power doesn’t really determine the outcome of a duel anymore as there are too many cards to answer that. Everything changed the minute Synchro Monsters was introduced to Yugioh. To explain the meta now you have to be very familiar with the concept of Synchro’s. First off, Synchro Monsters are monsters that go into the extra deck (the renamed Fusion deck) and their summoning conditions are sending 2 or more monsters on your field to the Graveyard (note this is not tribute summoning) whose combined levels equal to the level of the Synchro monster you want to summon. However, the conditions of the monsters on the field have to follow the format of 1 Tuner monster (A new sub-type) and 1 or more non-Tuner monsters. The specifics can on the types can be a bit more restrictive based on the Synchro monsters text but that’s the basics of it. Essentially, Synchro monsters usually have fairly good attack strength with extremely helpful effects. The meta is basically how to use your main deck to get key Synchro monsters out either for controlling your opponents actions or controlling the field through destruction/negation among other things. Your extra deck is limited to 15 cards so it’s important to build your extra deck to adapt to any situation. Your main deck essentially becomes how can I Synchro Summon as fast as possible and how can I continously pressure my opponent/defend myself. Speed has become the key so cards that thin your deck by either searching or drawing are key.

Your staple cards for zombies are this:
x2 Mezuki
x1 Plaguespreader
x3 Zombie Master
x2 Goblin Zombie
x3 Book of Life
x1 Burial from a Different Dimension
x1 Dark Armed Dragon
x1-2 Doomkaiser Dragon

Your Staple Cards in all decks are this:
Spells:
2x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Dark Hole
1x Monster Reborn
Traps:
x2 Bottomless Trap Hole
x1 Torrential Tribute
x1 Mirror Force
x1 Solemn Judgment
Synchro Monsters:
x1 Ally of Justice - Catastor
x1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary
x1 Goyo Guardian
x1 Stardust Dragon
x1 Black Rose Dragon

Really good cards that are worth considering are:
x1 Pot of Greediosity
x1 Call of the Haunted
x2 Solemn Warning
x1-2 Trap Stun
x1 Effect Veiler
x1 Gorz, Emissary of Darkness
x3 Book of Moon
x1 Enemy Controller
x1 Mind Control

That being said Zombies alone are no longer competitive the constant hits they took on the ban list has made the deck very unusuable. You have to splice them with other cards that have synergy with a specific strategy to make them work and even then they’re no longer competable.

YGO OCG News
Tells you all up coming card sets and also has tournament history and shows you the top 3 placing decks and their deck list. It gives you a good idea of the OCG meta. For the most part the TCG meta will follow the OCG meta with the exception of the Trap line up. I find that’s the biggest difference between the OCG and TCG. Everything else about the deck is pretty much the same.

If you look at the Extra decks the strategies don’t change much and the key cards are always there the only difference is when it comes to the decks specific strategy will things change.

Oh man, you’re really breaking my balls here Killey!

Can anyone recommend some ‘Must Have’ Fairies? I want to build a deck around Athena.

Thanks.

Does it have to be 40? I thought that was the lower limit/recommended size. Stealth Bird and Secret Barrel both look pretty tits. I already have a Level Limit - Area B in there, and I have Gravity Binds. I just got some other card I want to add in, I can’t remember what the name is but it’s a Spell/Equip that reduces a monster’s Attack to 0 and inflicts 500 damage every turn to the player controlling it. I want to get a Wave Motion Cannon or two as well.

Wut’s a Duel Terminal? :o

Pot of Greediosity which in english is Pot of Duality which, goes for 90$ + lmao.

Duel Terminal is a machine that gives out cards that have a special design on them (a bunch of holo dots) and there are only some places in the whole US that have these so they are pretty rare. Especially if the cards are staple cards/useful cards. I sold my Duel Terminal Royal Oppression to some guy for $10 and the most they go for is $4 for a non duel terminal version.

And keeping your deck between 40-42 is a great way to keep it consistant. Especially with Pot of Duality and other draw power cards, it makes searching through your deck alot better. Starting next week, the only decks that are going to be viable in the meta before the next ban list are:

Six Samurai
Blackwings
Plants/Debris Hime.

Edit: Pot of Duality and Solemn Warning are going to shoot up in price since Duelist Revolution is so expensive to get now. I value Pot of Duality at $90 for non 1st ed and $100 for 1st ed. So far I sold 2 Pot of Duality and a Solemn Warning for $220.

OK, are there any ‘must have’ and/or cool fairy cards that don’t cost $90? This is just for fun, and I won’t be playing in tournaments.

What the other guy said but, I didn’t get a chance to check it out as there was some kind of tournament going on and I was getting weirded out by all the people being there. >_>

I don’t think there is a single Fairy that goes that high.

If you want to make Fairies so bad, just wait until the next Starter. Get one or two of those and you won’t have to do any work.

Ohhh ~ so it’s a vending machine for random sparkly cards basically? o uo

lolwat?

I totally missed that other huge post. I thought I did kind of have a singular goal with my deck. I unnoo lawl. I don’t know what kind of specific strategy I would want to try and work on, with my only real goal being to do a lot of damage and keep them from attacking me directly. I need to go through my deck again and cut it down by a ton of cards though, so I’ll look at what I have in relation to my other cards and see if I can come up with anything.

Sup, Debris Plants for life. Fuck Six Sams.
Although, I’ve been playing Sabers again, and I actually like the matchup against Sams. Pashul is amazing against them.

As for the guy requesting must have Fairies, it really depends on the kind of deck your making (Herald, Counter Fairies, Fairy Circle, Agents if you play OCG). The only real staple fairy between them is Honest (and I guess Kristya, but you’re looking for inexpensive options. Her price has been dropping though).

I miss the old DebuHime deck that was a complete control deck with 3x Solemn Judgment, 3x Plant equivalent to Solemn, and Black Garden with Tytannia and then whenever you needed to field wipe with Debris+Dandylion and be in a positional advantage with 2 tokens after the field nuke.

Cold Wave is absolutely ridiculous.

I have a feeling the March 2011 banlist will ban that card, hopefully.

WHAT!? Cold Wave is great but if it does get banned that will probably mean Heavy Storm will be limited again.

Cold wave is only good when you have the right cards on the field, its not really that good when you are losing and have no cards to pair it up with. I honestly don’t think Cold Wave is ban worthy. There are many cards that can counter it like waboku, magic drain, threatening roar, etc.

anyone buy any DLC yet? there are 10 packs available.

We knew this for months…and no one has bought it for months and have left that game to die for that BS move.

Konami only used it to make a quick buck and to test out the waters I assume. They actually don’t care about this game.

I’d remove Nutrient Z, Draining Shield, Dust Tornado and Scapegoat, But that’s just me lol
