oh man, I just thought I opened a weird link via youtube when I went on the other day. Sucks that it’s an actual update, don’t like it either.
I didn’t like it at first but I like the comments better now and I like the voting too. Instead of useless 1-5 stars its either “like” or “dislike”.
Every youtube update sucks and just makes shit harder then it ever needed to be. The one 6 months ago was fucking awful. Getting my favorites to be a full screen, instead of a single file scroll bar too forever to figure out and it’s useless pointless steps to do now every time I want to see my favorites, on top of clicking videos opening them up in that stupid, small ass little video player in my profile instead of just taking me to the video’s actual page like it it used to which was infinitely better to begin with. deep breath.
The new update sucks cuz it didn’t fix anything wrong with the old one and added more shit I didn’t want nor ask for.
I can’t believe people are still complaining about this. Seriously it’s not that big of a deal. Just get used to it.
I don’t like it either but it’s not worth spamming youtube comments and making threads over. Seriously man it’s just a layout.
Though if anything, the new voting system should definitely stay. I’m much more inclined to say if I disliked or liked something. It’s a much easier decision to make. I’m much more active with voting now.

Autoplay is retarded.
No longer have quick access to videos by the same uploader. Which makes watching videos with multiple parts an absolute pain in the ass. And no, they aren’t in any order on the right side.

I’d hazard a guess that the youtube updates over the past year are based on ushering the site towards being more commercial, or structured around some kind of commercial system, rather than being any attempt to improve ease of use or practicality
Do you mean hide the comments section or individual user posts? You can mark the individual posts as spam which will hide the posts individually.
Also, there is an arrow box underneath the vid’s title on the top, right next to the uploader’s username which when pressed will show you all of the uploader’s vids. Its the same as how it was in the older youtube layout only instead of scrolling up and down it scrolls from the left to the right across the top of the screen.
See more steps to do thing that where just there automatically and worked perfectly the way they where.

I don’t really mind it to be honest. Then again, YouTube sucks ass and 99.999% of the shit on there is a total waste of life so the few times I actually visit the site its to see my subscriptions. Basically, I don’t care.
But they should have added porn.
They are going to have to eventually, I wouldn’t mind paying a small fee. I just found out yesterday that funimation has a channel on there and they have a shit ton of content on it.
i wonder how long before youtube dies out. i mean it was great back in 2005 when youtube was only used for primary for fighting games. now everything has on there.
Maybe when HTML5 becomes more popular and/or it stops using a video format covered in patents.
I don’t mind the changes made to Youtube, but I do use Stylish.

The layout is retarded. Comment pages are especially difficult to read, the related videos section is waaay too big and stuffed, the option to access, account, videos, etc to your dashboard is not as accessible, the new video pages make no sense and besides making comment pages harder to read as I mentioned, video description boxes just look a mess.
Its not made to be more accessible. It isn’t. Sad fact of the matter is they change shit just to change it these days. What will they fuck up next?

What a childish argument. Take SRK for example, a number people may not like the new layout but at least they have a feedback section and make replies on what people may say/think. And everything still functions well and makes sense (save for bugs). YT does neither; basically the only feedback they want to hear is how good it is. And it clearly does not function as well.
Oh yeah, “we don’t own it”, doesn’t concern us. Of course it concerns us, we use it and some of us have been using it for a very long time. That would make a lot more sense if they started closing down normal accounts.
It’s only a little different, from what I can see. So the description is beneath the video. That’s really the only big change I can see, and not enough to bitch about. It’s like crying about Sony removing linux support when you never used it and had no future intention to do so. Other than that, no annoyance here. Now, if the Downloadhelper Firefox extension was unable to function as a result of the changes, THAT would be bitch-worthy.

It’s not your youtube. Google will change things. Changes will stick. As you said yourself, they don’t care about feedback. So stop moaning like bitches about where they moved the video info panel.

You know what? You’re right; I owe you an apology. This change just hit me a couple days ago and the complaints I had with it, and when I saw you post I read something out of it you probably didn’t intend. So, yeah I apologize for being an a-hole.
My thing is, I don’t mind change at all. Just please change it to something that makes sense for it to change. The voting system seems pointless to me, and the others just irk me. We know we don’t technically “own it”, but that’s a pretty shallow sidestepping of the issue considering I’d say a lot of non-commercial vids get pretty damn good traffic for YT. In anycase, this thread at least lets people get the beefs with it out of their system so I don’t see anything wrong with having at it.
