Anything SNK made or purchased throughout its entire arcade run days would be considered unloved at least in the west. Whoever said Kizuna Encounter, yes do that game do the legit version of it and if you arent bald you will be from all the read inputs and SNK boss syndrome that was in every character of that game. I still say it as a whole it is the hardest game in existance. That being said I still play it religiously and try to track down any and all merchandise related to it. My training partner thinks its probably the shittiest game in existence and wont even play it. That being said it had a lot of mechanics going for it and I think the Second one was the first to implement the tag mechanic, but I could be wrong you should definately give it a go those two games had alot of things going on with them all at once.
Aggressors of Dark Combat is another one, Dark Awake is a fun one the west didnt get, WakuWaku 7, Like I said pretty much anything SNK or SNK related IE they bought up the company would be something good to look into.
Sonic Battle was very fun, I played it with friends. Shadow was God Tier, he had stupid good tools and his three “Supers” were some of the best in the game. That game taught me how to pick a top tier, I liked using Knuckles but he was pretty bad so I switched to Sonic and used him and Gamma on the side.
Maybe do separate recording sessions? One with the Evolution disc and one without it? If you just do one, I’m sure someone’s bound to make a big deal out of it.
Underestimated fighting game that will surprise many with its atmosphere, characters, gfx, music, fighting game system, …
It’s also no problem finding high level gameplay from this as long as you don’t mind Japanese 240p footage
V SP could work but I believe the point of the series is to examine the mechanics of obscure fighters that don’t really have in depth guides. V SP does have pretty in depth guides and is only kind of obscure.
Here is my lead in to when I start gushing about several of the Capcom geniuses that worked on Rival Schools.
“When you talk about Capcom, you are talking about one of the greatest game developers of all time as well as the greatest fighting game legacy in videogame history. There are several legends that worked on this title but everyone on this team is a giant in their own right. This is especially true during this time period, where Capcom enjoyed alot of success. No doubt this was due to the steller effort Capcom put into their games. Games like Rival Schools where you can feel the heart and soul of the dev team in the art, the music, the story and the atmosphere. I won’t name everyone that worked on this title so I urge viewers to visit the Rival Schools wikia page at Capcom wikia. There you can see every person that put their heart into this game, and bear witness to this games soul and amazing heritage.”
Just something for you guys to see, so you know I’m serious about the project.
Intro to the game. Wanna end part 1 of Rival Schools showing how the intro does EVERYTHING right. Sets up the story and atmosphere, with really intense music and great animation to go with the fighting. And it displays concepts of friendship, teamwork and good vs evil.
Yes yes and yes to Sonic Battle.
Also, Sonic the Fighters would be nice too. I think it’s highly underrated, however I think Giza made a very old post about that game breaking down the mechanics. Sonic the Fighters
Would Virtua Fighter 1 count? Not much information about the juggle system, etc out there.
The RS opening simply does EVERYTHING an opening NEEDS to do to make you hype to play the game.
Its not the only fighter to do this.
BTW the second and third games were chosen. Bloody Roar 2 and Psychic Force 2012. Love us or hate us but this project is sort of my gift to him so if he wants those to be first, so be it.
The 4th game however…that is up in the air. Probably just do w/e game gets the most demand.
