Youtube series in the works for underrated FGs

I’m basically done with the brainstorming of the first 2 episodes. Now im onto the metagame breakdown and tiers. This research shit is awesome.

How are you doing on the video? Have you thought of how you’ll do it?

My friend is in charge of the editting but he wants to finish building his custom PC for movie making and streaming.

My research continues.

Interesting. Sakura can infinite over half the cast…

thats all im giving up…for now

I don’t know if you’re taking requests but can you do Tekken 1 & 2? People say Tekken wasn’t a really competitive game until 3 but I want to know why.

If you ever decide to do it, I can provide information and a breakdown for Cyberbots. I have pretty much picked that game apart.

One juggle could be around 70% or more. Mishimas were insane as well siince Electric Wind God Fist was true mid and crushed uuuuuuhhhh, basically everything?

I dont agree that they werent competitive. just really stupid and unforgiving

Hey, I know tastunical existed and everything, but I feel you should talk about tatsunoko vs capcom. Yes, nobody request it, but I feel you could do this and get some community for this game

Hmm, but the game had a scene and write ups and all that good stuff. It lacked a scene cuz it was on the wii.

The game itself was superior to MvC 3 imo.

Can’t wait to see the infinites and the tardy baiting in RS.

I take it Project Justice will be covered too? :woot:

Yeah eventually.

The system changes from RS to PJ seem subtle but it really changed how offense works, especially rushdown.

Changing most of the chains around and the mini air combos (leading to mix ups, cross unders, etc) changed up things quite a bit.

Yup. Only thing is Rival Schools rushdown is fucking scary and fast paced. Creates tension and excitement.

Project Justice rushdown is more calculated for sure but its also more boring because its far less threatening.

Here is another teaser excerpt, this one regarding rushdown.

"Rushdown is defined as using different offensive options in conjunction with speed, and aggression to overwhelm your opponents defense. This let’s the aggressor open his opponent up and score damage. Rushdown in Rival Schools is EXTREMELY aggressive due to how fast the game is as well as the options at your disposal. These options include frame traps, overhead/low mix-ups, tick throws and pressure strings into hit confirms. Mix-ups are especially devastating due to the Textbook Combo System. Overheads are command normals and can be cancelled into and out of. They can also be special/Burning Vigor cancelled. A simple mix-up can lead to near 50% if a player blocks incorrectly. And even if blocked, many can be made safe by cancelling into a well spaced special.

Huge reward for low risk. Pure craziness."

Damn right. Would love to see some stuff for both JoJo '99 and All Star Battle (if mainly to spread awareness for ASB as it has only a 1.7% userbase on EventHubs, which is bad even for a low-profile release such as ASB). Also, @"yah yaahh b*tch!"‌, DBZ Hyper Dimension was pretty ahead of its time. As a fighting game, it’s better than most of the DBZ games put out since Budokai.

Speaking of Dragon Ball, I’d love to see you guys cover Dragon Ball Final Bout. That game is the worst but a lot of people love it.

First DBZ we will ever do is Hyper Dimension, after that anything is up in the air. I’m iffy on Final Bout though. Its not only bad its really unfun to play, unfortunately.

Side note: Sakura can infinite everyone in the game besides herself and Hinata. Potential god tier or is it just circumstantial? We shall see.

I swear to god whoever worked on Project Justice brings a tear to my eye. Literally everything had heart and soul to it. The music wasn’t just rock. It was music that fit with the background. If it was an all girls school the music reflected that. The music on Taiyo rooftop was way, WAY better than the original in my opinion. Aoharu Station sounded like a night on the town. The music really sets the atmosphere and enhances the experience.

Then you have the goddamn story mode. Easily the best story mode capcom has EVER done. Period. Each school had 5 chapters with manga panels of characters actually interacting and telling us why the hell they are fighting and what the hell is going on. Not only that, but the shit had its own OST, on some ANIME shit. They need to, NEED to bring this format to any one of their games with a story, because it was absolutely incredible. One of the most fun fighters i have ever played.

Please do a video on this game. I want capcom to finish the series off with senior year and do it right.

I got SF Alpha Anthology, itd be cool if you did a show about Hyper Alpha, tons of weird things in that game like the color isms, shin akumas and even missingno sagat and bison with shoto move sets.

We will definately do Project Justice eventually.

Rival Schools and Project Justice are almost night and day at high level and due to system tweaks but both games have enormous heart and effort behind them.

Also totally done with my research now.

Episode breaks will probably be as follows.

Episode 1 - Introduction/Background info/The development team
Episode 2 - Modes/Story/Content
Episode 3 - Gameplay Intro/Combat basics
Episode 4 - In-Depth Combat/General Metagame/Tiers
Episode 5 - Closing thoughts

Possible bonus episodes at public requests - Combo vid, character analysis, infinites exhibition.

Episode 5 will be an open format. No script. Just me and my friend talking about the game. The good, the bad, the broken nonsense and how we feel about the game.

This sounds better than I expected. I figured it would be one big video about each game, but I like this better.

Would it always be about 5 episodes per game? And how long between games would you need to take?

I personally would love to release episodes weekly once we get going. How long between games depends on the game, how much research and lab work is needed and our schedules.
