You're borin' the crap outta me~ Cody video thread

The Sanchez Combo? works anywhere on the screen. The trick is to wait a bit before throwing the rock after the forward dash.

The reason I’ll opt for it over EX Rock starter is that unless it’s a lvl3 focus it is very difficult to land the EX without hitting them out of the air. The Sanchez Combo? is a more consistent off any random focus. Also, IT LOOKS DOPE.

About NCR–I was partially drunk on 3 hours of sleep. I have gotten better, but not by much.

Apparently meaty standing far MK can give you at minimum 7 frames of advantage. In this video it combos in cr.MK which has a 7 frame start up. This means you should be able to do this into ultra 2.

fransujin (i8600011) is so damn good : last fight and those two last rounds are a must watch !

Haven’t posted here in a while so I thought I’d record this. Nothing really noteworthy here except that my anti-air was off in this match (as in, nonexistent) and I need to get out of the habit of throwing rocks in a fireball fight that I will always lose.

Ending is pretty sweet, though: Final Destruction FTW.

when will japanese learn to use youtube FFS! nicovideo is just plain stupid.

here is a link where everyone can watch it:

copy the url of ??? PS3??? ???(9) in the above mentioned site. press watch it and wait a little.

This is a really good video

It has matches against dhalsim bison gouken rose ryu. The dhalsim match is really useful because it is i860001 dealing with a strong turtle dhalsim. The ryu match is also i86 and he is dealing with a strong offensive ryu.

ultra 2 would have beaten that clean too. not a good reason to make ultra 1 a better choice. the range that ultra 1 needs to be to connect there is the same range ultra 2 can be where the ultra fireball will not make contact with the dust and will pass through the body.

Does that apply to all Ultra projectiles? I remember using U2 against a Sonic Hurricane in a situation very close to that one, and the Dust and Sonic cancelled each other out before the wrench attacks started.

Maybe I was too far away.

that’s because the hit count. dust does 7 hits? so does hurrican, but hurrican recovers faster than cody hit’s him with the pipe. same with metsu hadoken, but ryu recovers way slower.

i guess

it wont work close on sonic hurricane cuz the hurricane is stationary and the dust is not making contact with it. so once your invincibility wears out, sonic hurricane hits you. you still hit guile with the dust part, but thats not a good trade. but if you are at a range where the hurricane will hit with the dust, you will always sin. hurricane is 6 hits, dust is 7 hits. so you will hit guile with 1 hit of dust, then the rest of the ultra.

Would Dudley have been able to block that Slide Irony if he ducked? Could he have ducked if he wanted to? The recovery frames on Corkscrew Blow seem pretty steep which is why I went for it, but I’m not sure if it was because of the recovery frames or because he didn’t duck.

Nah no way he could’ve blocked it. However just in case you’re not sure if lk super will connect use mk super its like 4 frames faster. Even Ultra 1 would have punished it.

Hey guys, I have some matches I played against a friend of mine who has a pretty good abel. Hopefully it helps some of you with the abel matchup.

Nice videos. May I suggest using U2 against abel so you can punish his rolls and whiffed throws more easily.

The only way to punish Abel’s roll is with a grab. I see no reason to why anyone would use U2 with Cody, since U1 is so easy to combo into.

u2 has way more utility than u1 has. u1 is useful for sure, but to ignore u2’s strengths is silly. i can easily combo into it with less meter. plus cody doesnt need ultra too much, he lands a lot of damage without ultra. so i rather spend in better places rather than ex bingo fadc ultra 1. you can fadc a high ruffian, but he doesnt have a reliable bnb combo that stands the opponent up to combo it. so you can only do it in AA which is ok at best, or catch them in a combo where they were already standing(which isnt too often). in your case, you were mainly using it off a randomly lucky placed high ruffian, or in a punishment situation(abel’s wiffed throw) which you can punish with u2 as well and get same damage, and spend less meter. id rather pick the ultra(ulrta 2) that i can combo into with 1 ex stock or less, plus gain a huge punishment option on most of the cast due to its pretty fast startup time

u2 can punish a roll. hes not safe on recovery, it’s just that the roll recovers hella fast, and since the dust hits super fast, it will hit those recovery frames

Really? I never thought much of U2, but I’ll definitely try it out now. How do you combo it with an ex stock? Is it just EX rocks? Thanks for the eye opener man, I probably would have never used U2 otherwise. Also, I’ve always been told by abel players that abel’s roll is unpunishable, never knew it had recovery.

ex rocks xx u1 is also doable. but that is an rather never happening scenario.

what you want to do is s.hp / c.hp as counter hit into ex rocks (it combos, leaving you enough time to realize the hit) into u2. anywhere on the screen. most likely on wakeup. this can also be done with u1, but only in the corner.

The more I see of GMMA_Jan’s cody the more I like it

This is him beating up on Chun and Ryu two of cody’s more difficult matches

This video is from the same tournament but is a different Cody. He has a good mind game set up that I like. He does meaty cl.hp on guile’s wake up twice and then the third time he uses ex zonk. Seems like a particularly useful end game setup, especially for the U1 crowd.
