Your recipe for a rage quit

Just read this comment from stud trooper:

Kinda got me thinking about if there any commanlity that induces rage quitting. When I play ranked matches I’ve noticed that the following strategy induces rage quitting alteast 80% of the time.

sonic boom > over head > sonic boom > over head > sonic boom > crouch fierce > sonic boom > throw

repeat until the the other guy is ko’ed. With this method I’ll get a rage quit or some hate mail accusing me of being cheap, boring or a cheater.

so…what moves/style of play do you use that usually induces a rage quit or hate mail from the guy your playing?

Tickthrows.

My Fei Long on some Chun Li Player:

Short CW > Short CW > Short CW > Short CW > Short CW > Flame Kick > Short CW > Short CW > Short CW > Throw = Ragequit

man, those short cw are annoying

cu.mk -> cr.jab x2 -> st.strong xx rh dread kicks (dizzy) cu.mk -> cr.jab x2 xx mgu ftw

I bit someone’s face four times in a row last night and they didn’t ragequit, I was shocked.

I get them ALL the time, it’s bloody annoying. If I’m playing Guile then I get them for exactly what you described above, but otherwise with Dee Jay I get them playing against Blanka and spamming c.lp then lk upkick when they jump. Also Dee Jay’s mk crossup combos make people quit on me too :frowning:

I usually provide negative feedback with “quit early” when this happens.

playing t.hawk

Pick Chun-Li and do either:

  1. A lot of S.Mp (preferably into tick throws)

  2. Do a lot of DF+Hk, and if they block it, throw them

See the rage.

Incidentally, I’ve gotten more rage quits using Dee Jay than Chun, which is just weird. You get them by doing his crossup dizzy combo a lot. I find it funny because I’m terrible with Dee Jay - I just know that combo, is all. :stuck_out_tongue:

For keeping away/zoning the non-fireball characters.

to be fair this match is a waste of time to play out. blanka cannot beat dj at all. and if he does it’s cause the dj player made a mistake or three. It’s just one gigantic headache matchup, that I’d honestly rather not waste my time with.

for the record I’ve never played you.

Continuous blanka bites when opponent lands on me from an early jumping attack, most cases, an early j.lk or j.lp

Ragequit chance 60-70%

These have gotten me the most rage. If you’re lucky, you might get a guy who cant get past the standard Ryu zoning strategies that will send you hate mail.

I must be doing it wrong. I perfected 2 guys today doing nothing but knee bash, jump in short. No ragequit, not even a ragemail or bad rep. I was very dissapointed.

On the other hand, I decided to pick Dhalsim in player matches just for the hell of it. Now this is a ragequit I can’t understand. It was a good match. Close and not even a hint of cheese (I usually amuse myself with teleporting and noogie traps). Then he quits at the start of the next round. Strange.

Absolutely this. The amount of morons that can’t figure out how to block a meaty lpDp is amazing.

80% of the ragequits against me occur during a five-round match where the first four rounds were neck and neck and then the fifth round is a mauling.

I also get rage quits mostly in ranked when I play the same person about 3 times in a row, if I’ve beat him every time, then on the 4th encounter he’ll probably rage quit right at the start. I tend to play more player mathes now than rank, so havnt come across as many rage quitters as I usually do.

I’ve also noticed that if you give somebody a real bad whoopin, sometimes they dont quit…they just stop playing and you can use them for combo practise…that ever happened to any of you guys?

Yeah, a few times.

My favourite cheese with Vega is throw (they tech), immediately jump over them, throw again. Some 'tard let me do it 5 times in a row to him before he bailed in frustration.

That and repeated wall dives when someone has no comeback from it. Particularly if you can attack near vertical to make the block direction ambiguous.

hum. things that make me rage quit…

people who pick a character, get beat, pick another character and get even more beat, and then pick one of my counter characters and beat me. I’ll rage quit that almost every time.

I also do the leg go of my controller thing when I get bored of playing autopilot players. I do that just to laugh at them playing against my dummy character. I love the way some of them don’t even realize you’ve let go.

I’ll also let go on a dizzy where a player should kill me with a dizzy combo. but that’s out of player respect.

I hope you are joking, doesn’t sound like it though.
