I’m on the verge of discovering a true infinite with Strange. I think I’ve already found it actually, I’m just having a lot of trouble getting the input timing down (it’s a bunch of tight links). I’m nearly 100% sure this will work though. Silly Capcom, don’t you know it’s a bad idea to make a [S]move that ignores HSD[/S] cancelable move with a guaranteed 35 frames of hitstun?

(I’m debating doing the STSFN thing though…)

you mean a true infinite without X-factor right? cause he has a true infinite in xfactor where you just impact palm S sj cancel impact palm M teleport and repeat until the character is did. its only useful if you use it at the end of a full combo and you xfc a SoV though, other wise it just kills to much time.

No X-factor, no supers. I’m less and less certain by the hour that it will actually work though. Good thing I said “almost” 100% sure before because now I’m like…30% sure.

is it a matter of execution or do opponents flip out randomly or something? unless it’s a practical infinite like Viper’s, I wouldn’t wrack my brains over it too much. best get some Strange tech and a general consensus with regards to his gameplan down, first.

btw, for those wondering, I’m probably not gonna update the guide itself until sometime next year since there’s not a whole lot of Strange info to go around so far.

Partially because I’m being a scumbag and don’t want it used against me (there’s a good chance I’m dropping Strange anyway, sadly). On the other hand partially because if it does work I don’t want it getting patched out before I can make use of it in tournament (less likely). Seriously though, the possibility that this works is looking bleaker by the second, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

I edited the first post as soon as I realized it’s probably not working. Only reason I’m dropping Strange is because he’s limited as an anchor and that’s the slot I need (not necessarily bad as an anchor, but it’s really hard to make a comeback if your opponent has any more resources than you do). Even if it worked, I’m not naive enough to believe that an infinite makes a character.

Yeah, I agree also that Ds ins’t a great anchor.

Yeah, if you catch someone off the ground and launch them starting from too high, you can’t go into the jump loop. But when you hit someone grounded, it’s extremely reliable. I agree the most stable set up is the TK Teleport, but in general, I try to avoid anything that requires a piece of execution that I fail occasionally, unless there are no other options. The reason I think it’s not necessary is because if you’re hitting an opponent that’s airborn already (which means your S would hit them too high), you can simply do into L Mystic Sword and start a jump loop from that.

However, I’m still going to mess around with the TK Teleport starter more because I have some other ideas.

Well, dont know if it will end up being posted on the frontpage like the previous one, but this is a roundup of some Strange tech that we gathered here throughout this first month. It has some techs with DHC’s, and then 2 versions of Ryan’s and Alzarath’s loops - big props to both for the inspiration and the tech. Hope you guys like it.
