Hey strangers, i main dr strange as my anchor on my zero Dante strange team and have a few questions:

1- i saw a vid showing a combo extension for strange using bolts, something like hard knockdown, call strange, jump otg guns ( bolts hit ) cancel guns to hammer. Is this correct and what is the timing, because it’s not connecting for me for some reason.

  1. I also know you can do Dante guns super into seven rings, then go into fof loop. The problem I’m having is spacing. I can hit with IP but I’m too close to start the loop, but when I do s.H, f.h, for spacing the opponent jumps out on s.h. Am I not doing it fast enough or is it because I’m playing on Vita?

Does it matter for the tac combo, after you hit the ground (aka no infinite anymore) what was the length of the combo of the 1st character (aka the starter)

Meaning you can get the exact same fof after any tac (each with different setup ofc)

I’m getting more consistant with midscreen faltine loop, and i’m considering instead of changing my order to Magneto/Doom/Strange (which i’m reluctant to do so) i’m thinking of sticking with Magneto/Strange/Doom and using Doom rocks assist (great for Strange’s neutral, because missiles are somewhat hard to use on some matchups).

  1. Does doc have a corner to corner combo? I am already pretty decent at fof loops and how to convert corner carries… Still working on my mid screen fof loops…

  2. Is there a more consistant and optimized starter than s.m, s.h, f.h, grace x2, fof, l. Mystic sword to start his jump loops? I find that when corner carrying I get random pop outs. I’m assuming it’s due to hit stun scaling thing, or time outs…

I want to bring up combo openers. The first one I use is s.m, s.h, f.h, (m.grace)x2, fof, palm loop into fof loop. This Is very consistant and seems like it scales less than adding a palm, l. Mystic swords after grace x2, fof. Which should help out damage and corner carry. After this opener I was able to get three palm loops, into fof loop on vita.

The other opener that has worked great for me has been c.h, f.h, l.swords, (dash if mid screen), f.h, s, into fof loops.

Both work from teleport distance giving the option to confirm high or low. Is there any reason why I should be using the openers from the first page over these?

You should try not to use st.H against grounded opponents ever unless you know they’re standing. st.H will whiff against crouching characters at max range and at point blank range. It’s best to just go from st.M to Impact Palm. Open with a cr.L if you need more time to hit confirm, but theres no real point since everything is minus on block anyway.

cr.H to palm also isn’t too good because (I think) at max range it won’t combo. Also it’s just not very fast.

st.M is the best opening move you can pick.

So, can anyone give me a few tips of midscreen FoF loops? I can never get the dash right once I land, I jump forward imp-flames-imp, land, dash, and I’m too late. Is it spacing beforehand that I have to worry about.

The setup, if that matters, is Deadpool cr.L x 3 (longer time to see if I confirmed) cr.M st.H Quick Work H teleport L tag Strange, st.LMH Imp Launch.

Just know you can’t cancel a dash into Impact Palm until after frame 4 of the dash itself, which isn’t a lot.

Setting up the spacing for the first rep is the difficult part. Try to hit a bit shy of the max range of st.S, both horizontally and vertically, and immediately jump forward with a palm into flames. Stay low as possible so you can land faster to get the ground dash.

After you dash into palm, odds are they’re too low to go straight into launch, so do palm to launch, and delay the super jump so the next air palm will hit at the right angle, like the first one. You may have to delay the launch after the ground dash palm if you end up dashing too close, just so they can be distanced a bit further, but as long as you get the right angle on the air palm flames palm, you should be good.

Then just keep doing it.

Hey guys so I’m trying to pick up Strange but I had a few questions that I felt were appropriate on the combo board:

Obviously FoF loops are necessary for high level Strange play but a few things seem really weird about them. For one, the midscreen FoF loop is supposed to bring you to the corner where you need to be spaced right to continue the full loop. Iv seen people say to use the grid on training mode to learn this. This just seems absurd to me. How could you possibly perfectly line shit up like that during a match where you don’t always start midscreen. I saw the video Geronimo posted just before, but If youre not spaced exactly as shown in the video (2:11) im thinking you could end up in a few different heights when you reach the corner. Basically how strict is the spacing? Iv heard diff stuff

Also, I had tried to learn Magnus grav loops twice before, once on pad once on stick, and I was utterly defeated by them. Iv learned combos for Viper Iron Man but I wanted to punch my T.V. trying to learn grav loops and was surprised for the first time that I just could not do something at least in training mode in this game. Before I waste a lot of time, how would you say that Strange’s execution compares to magneto or IM? I can do his standard jump loops out of FoF>palm>L Mystic Swords though lol

I’d say it’s easier than Magneto, and CONSIDERABLY easier than Iron-Man. As for flame-loops, you dont necessarily need the midscreen one, but the corner one is essential.

Ok cool, yeah I could not deal with IM’s S. I mean, if it separates the men from the boys, so to speak, I’m definitely willing to learn flame loops, what I’m concerned with is if its practicle. I wanna be able to say: Ok im not in the corner, ill do this until I am; or: Ok im in the corner ill do this instead
