Iā€™m having trouble with Strangeā€™s jump loop, I can get 1 jump of the loop and then relaunch, but when I try to get a second jump loop before the relaunch they always fall out. Still really feeling Strange though, and considering on day 1 I couldnā€™t even get his relaunch, Iā€™m happy with my progress. very fun character.

You get used to it. Itā€™s a pretty specific rhythm. Just input it a bit earlier than you would think. Sometimes if you hold jump to make sure you get it as early as possible you can react to your character beginning to move off the ground. Then just hit the pattern in itā€™s rhythm regardless of what you are seeing on screen.
Youā€™ll get it eventually.

Itā€™s the Alzarath combo, it usually hits closer to 770k without an assist depending how you hit-confirm it though.

bored, trying to get as many palms in as possible. does anyone know a way to solo enter flight mid combo and still get it to hit? the only way I found besides TAC was with agamotto, but thatā€™s really cumbersome

SO Iā€™m guessing most if not all of you have seen Ryan Hunterā€™s wake up mixup video. As sick as that mixup is, the part I was most intrigued by was his BNB, as itā€™s diff than any Iā€™ve seen posted or in the book. I only had about 20 min to mess with it and wont be able to get back into training till tomorrow evening, but I was wondering if anyone has that thing down yet? I didnā€™t land it once, and only even got the jump loop off the first launch once :frowning: To anyone who can do it, would you mind explaining where moves need to be done rapid fire, and where moves need to be delayed? Im gonna watch the vid a few more times and see if I canā€™t figure some of it out, but I thought it was going to be easy, and itā€™s def not. I still suspect, though, that once one masters it, itā€™ll be easier and more consistent than the Grace-Grace-Flame-Sword BNB (though if anyone disagrees with this, please tell me).

For reference for anyone who hasnā€™t seen it, here is what I believe heā€™s doing:

cL cL cL Palm, Grace (likely optional), dash in cH S launch sj M H Palm, land jM M H Palm, land jM M H Palm, land H Palm S relaunch sjM M H Palm, delay til almost landed, jS then of course Daggers for the mixup.

Now on the first launch thereā€™s definitely a big pause between the MHPalm, and thereā€™s definitely only one M, though I canā€™t tell if heā€™s hitting M immediately or waiting a sec. Though he does appear to be sj-ing immediately off the launch. Then after landing after the Palm, I just canā€™t seem to be able to get the jMMHPalm going, though I think that has more to do with the MHPalm after the launch as opposed to the jM upon landing. Once I figure that part out, no doubt the 2 jump loop reps will be cake, and in fact the rest of the combo looks pretty easy. Iā€™m surprised they stay in hit stun long enough to delay the final jS, but I assume thatā€™s a bi-product of the Palm before it.

SO yeah, if thereā€™s anyone whoā€™s broken it down similarly, with the slight difference that you can actually DO it, please share what youā€™re doing to make it work. Iā€™d really like this to be my BNB off a ground hit if for no other reason than that it sets up the Discs mixup afterward. Thanks!!

I had a chance to break this combo down this afternoon after I watched the video. Like yourself, I was excited to see a combo different than the BnB formulated here. The grace-grace-flame-sword combo is more damaging but I feel Ryans bnb is made to set you up perfectly for another mixup. I also think that if you delay the last part of our bnb correctly it could essentially serve the same purpose as ryans and would be more damaging. Its all about that last fly screen being really low to the ground.

To answer your question about his bnb execution is the initial delay of the first j.M. Try to time it so it hits at the peak of the enemies hitstun in mid-air, right before they flip out. Itā€™s then a matter of finding that slow rhythm of M H Palm. Its slow but once you find the timing for that first M, its easy. Once you get that down the initial loop is a little different to start than our normal grace grace flame sword loop. Our loop delays the first two j. M j. M so you get up over them as where the first part of this loop is a little different, try hitting that first M a little faster because they will be pretty low to the ground.

For tips on our loop, its all in the timing of the impact palm xx sword after the flame. Practice it until you get the timing for the palm xx sword to hit them where they are at the peak of the explosion. If you do it too fast, the enemy will be close to the ground and its hard to start that first loop. I had problems where I was dashing in after the grace grace before flame and then palm xx sword too fast. Just go slow and do your grace grace flame all on the same rhythm, then just hit that DP motion with H tacked onto the ->. Once you get it, you will be surprised how high up they are in front of you! then you have all day to jump up and hit that first j.M for the first part of the loop.

Hope this helps! I love strange and was scared of his execution barrier at first but with a few hours a day in training mode trying to break his comboā€™s down piece by piece he is becoming a reality thanks to everyone on these boards :smiley:

EDIT: Just started picking up Strange and I noticed that the numbers for his first 2 BnBs from the guide are wrong. BnB 1 only does 622,400 damage and is a 13% net meter loss. BnB 2 does 618,200 damage and is a 2% net meter gain.
