"Your brainless antics would try the patience of a saint!" - Doctor Strange Combos. BnBs in OP!

And thats awesome!
Nearly every forum has one of these “I promise to keep the thread updated!!1” character threads which have nothing but the outdated guide combos in it. Seeing a thread in such good shape is simply great and I had to thank you for that.

Sorry for licking your butt, but I think a “Thank You” was due…

what can we say? We work our butts off to make Stephen viable in this derp-filled game

Just noticed that at 0:11 mazio accidentally does air H instead of air f.H. Damn I’ve watched this video wayy to much.

You know, he can actually think “I win” and the game is over. The doctor is just being a good sports.

@maz is it possible to update first post with optimal midscreen and corner tac combos?

From my personal experience from practicing the loop for the past couple days, you don’t need the j.H but it gives you more leeway and makes it easier to space.

But it is a bit habit as it won’t work with the later version of the FoF loop (after TAK or at the end of IP loop)

Yeah, I sometimes do it on accident once or twice and everything falls apart. Still trying to get the loop 100% its pretty annoying on pad especially when I don’t hit my corners :/. Also, I don’t know if this has been mentioned but IP/Alzarath loop can go into FotF loop after the last rep with standing H ( it pushes strange into prime position). This is a little tid bit I found pretty sure mazio or someone found this already lol

I’m not sure it works if you are too close to the corner at the end of the IP loop

I’ve actually tried it with the IP loop jumping towards them each rep, if you move fast enough and do st.H, f.H, qcb.H on the last rep in a smooth motion you can start the FotF loop. I wish I had a visual to show.

fof is hella fun. im way more consistent with it now.

It actualy works if you’re too close and the caracter is not grounded. After some time I found myself practicing the fof loop starting as close as possible to the corner and with cr.H, IP, S, j.IP, j.FoF, j.IP, s.H, IP, S… and then you’re at the right distance to fof normaly

I practice the loop from Alzarath, after all is done I can get 2 reps of the FotF loop and net ~935k for 1 bar. So I’m assuming I can get over 1mil if I somehow get a 3rd loop in. Just a thought though, hit stun deterioration on seems to take its place or I’m just not fast enough for the 3rd loop.

First loop=Almost exactly the same as the IP loop, only difference is that you heavily scaled the combo with an EoA.

2nd loop=Uses the Alzarath starter then converts into the IP loop for only 1 rep, not sure why. Then converts into launcher for a rather inefficient combo that burns 2 meters+x-factor.

3rd loop=Another inefficient version of the IP loop that is heavily scaled by EoA.

4th loop=Corner only. Once again, heavily scaled by EoA; converted into the IP loop for only 1 rep. Placed GoH M for OTG into super. Very inefficient once again…

5th loop=Another inefficient version of the IP loop heavily scaled by EoA, 2 reps. Converted into mystic sword M for some reason…

6th loop=IP loop heavily scaled by EoA for 1 rep. Converted into IP then mystic sword L, then super.

7th loop=Interesting usage of the repulsar assist converted into 1 rep of the IP loop into level 3. Heavily scaled by EoA.

8th=Once again, interesting usage of magneto’s assist converted into 2 reps of the IP loop into level 3. Heavily scaled by EoA.

Final thoughts: Interesting ideas man, but kinda poor execution. Some things already exist, and most combos were rather inefficient. But, I do love the enthusiasm and the interesting idea’s regarding assists, and the video quality is great.

I know your new, so I guess this is alright. Can’t wait to see some progression and interesting new things, I feel that the 1 thing the Strange forum lacks is assists for combo extension (aside from wallbounce assists to extend FoF loop reps). Keep it up.

mmm I will go back to the lab on that.
For now I end IP loop with S magic series S call Wesker IP S 1 rep of FoF into ender, and it’s net around 850, I think it’s pretty important to break the 900K barrage as most of the “problems” live there

If you’re able to end with at least one rep of the Faltine loop, that should more or less give you enough meter to DHC for a sure kill.

I’m afraid I may have Morrigan 2nd :frowning: (Sometimes Wesker)

well thanks, these i just made beacuse they were fun to do. lol i didnt mean to shorten some with like one rep but i wasnt too good with them, now i know you can do at least four reps, and a fifth in the air, real nice. i didnt know how much i guess the damage scale did for EOA, but in truth i like it anyway. some burn 1 with x factor beacuse it can really do damage, its one bar, and you build meter fast in the game anyway, plus the xfactor burn combos are only if strange is intent on finishing the team off, killing the last person, shouldve mentioned that lol. but thanks for the insights, and im new but i also wouldnt have much to offer a community that has evolved for so long, what could i find or create that umvc3 players havent seen? nonetheless i love the community and ima do my best to support it and get better. i admire all the dr strange players

Protip: if you guys end up killing a character with Strange in the corner, and you have a character with a good airthrow, TK EoA (space it so that it hits meaty on incoming) and raw tag out into that character for a free guard break or mixup when they land. Pushblocking in this case will actually make it EASIER to time the guard break. I’ve done it several times with Mags during my sets with a friend, it’s some really dirty stuff. Usually got it off a TAC into Strange that killed their character.

That’s some MvC2 shit right there. DON’T PUSHBLOCK!

I wanted to see it, but it was removed :frowning:
