"You wanna get choked?!" Movelist/Combo Thread (Updated: AE changes)

Not that I’m aware of. I tried a bunch of different things but could never get it to juggle into anything. Kinda weird.

Want something dumb? f+MP beats Akuma U1. Check @ 1:34 :

Even more dumb? Oroshi beating El Fuerte’s body press. I wonder how EX Oroshi fares against Fuerte’s wakeup pressure. Check @ 0:23

hello choke lovers lol, i haven’t posted here in SRK for awhile and decided to take a break from Guy. Anyway, I have been experimenting with makoto and found something interesting, weird w/e but it connects somehow dunno if its a reliable one. This only works (as far as i did it) on a jump knockback situation, you s.Fkick ex cancel then EX Fukiage then maybe U2; its pretty hard and makoto needs to in a certain hitbox for the ex Fukiage to hit as far as for the U2connecting i’m not sure coz its alrdy confusing with the button technicality lol, but it looks funny with the bouncing juggle though.

:r::d::r:+:lk:~:lp:/:mp:/:hp:

Ok in the spirit of tightening up her combos and making things safer, her best 2f link hit confirms are from cr lp lp hayate as an ender (i say best since cr lp has more range than cr lk and st lp). This information isn’t new just reiterating what ive been trying to incorporate.

2f link hit confirms: cr lp/st lp, st lp, cr lp xx lp hayate
St mp, cr lp xx lp hayate
St hp hayate feint cr lp xx lp hayate

1f link with 2 f hit confirm: st lp, st mp, cr lp xx lp hayate I find this an easier plink for the st mp than having to p link into a cancel

And if the cr lp is whiffing and lp hayate is still coming out you can instead go cr lp negative edge xx lp hayate and do it quick enough it will OS only on hit and wont come out on whiff. This is kinda tricky have to do the cancel fast.

please clearify this!
are you saying you can combo and ex fukiage from a standing roundhouse?

Just did a bit of research on EX Hayate followup timings.

Timing window for EX Hayate xx FADC > f+LK:
5f: Balrog, Cammy, DeeJay, Dhalsim, Rose, Seth
4f: Adon, C.Viper, Dudley, Fei Long, Gouken, Guile, Sakura, T.Hawk, Vega
3f: Abel, Akuma, Chun-Li, Cody, Dan, E.Honda, Gen, Guy, Hakan, Juri, Makoto, M.Bison, Sagat, Zangief
2f: El Fuerte, Ibuki, Ken, Rufus, Ryu
1f: Blanka

 • Subtract 1f for EX Hayate > f+LK (corner)
 • Subtract 2f for EX Hayate > LP Hayate (corner)
 • EX Hayate xx FADC > LP Hayate works mid-screen against everyone except Blanka, and makes LP Hayate bufferable.

Timing window for EX Hayate > LP Fukiage:
3f: Cammy, DeeJay
2f: C.Viper, Fei Long, T.Hawk
1f: Balrog, Dhalsim, Juri, Makoto, Rose, Sakura

 • LP Fukiage can be plinked with f,d,df+LP~K
 • EX Hayate xx FADC > LP Fukiage increases the range and makes LP Fukiage bufferable. It also allows the LP Fukiage to come out a frame earlier, but this doesn’t seem to make it work against any additional characters.

Thanks a lot for the Fukiage P-Link tips, really usefull. I really have more ratio with it even with 1 frame Fukiage.

I also found you can P-Link the LP Hayate by doing :qcf::db::lp:~:lk:
Other direction like :d: after the :qcf: might works as well.

Hey guys, I just did my first c.MP > MP Hayate > Tanden-Renki > U1 Finish on someone with about 3/4 HP in a real match, I shed a tear. While playing in the room people were saying “This is the way to play Makoto”. I was amazed. But I still don’t think I’m that good yet.

You don’t do normal plinking for Hayate. Holding LP for more than a frame causes it to charge, which adds to the startup.

You can do negative edge plinking, but it’s pretty awkward. Or you can press LP for a single frame, getting the press and release on consecutive frames, which results in the same effect.

Edit: Just found a particularly awesome way of doing it.
You can combine the two techniques for 3 input frames:

 • Frame 1: Press LP
 • Frame 2: Release LP, Press LK
 • Frame 3: Release LK

Basically input the special motion followed by the above, sliding a finger really fast across both LP and LK.
You get the LP press, followed by LP Neg-edge, followed by LK Neg-edge plink.

Edit again: Holy shit this is awesome, it’s raised my execution to near 100% against the characters that require 1f timing.

Wait wait, for what combos do you need to p link a hayate, corner ex hayate juggle lp hayate? A special gets double inputs from negative edging anyways, why the need to p link the special? Like qcf + lp gives you an input when u press and when u release lp. I guess your method gets 3 inputs tho…

The timing for EX Hayate > LP Hayate against a whole bunch of characters is a single frame.
(Abel, Akuma, Chun-Li, Cody, Dan, E.Honda, Gen, Guy, Hakan, Juri, Makoto, M.Bison, Sagat, Zangief)

If you end up triggering Hayate with the button press, holding the button for more than one frame will cause the hayate to charge for that extra frame and the combo will not work. It’s harder than it sounds to consistently press a button for a single frame only.

Negative edge plinking eliminates this problem, since a negative edge Hayate never charges. Unfortunately it’s really hard to tell if you’re doing it right because training mode doesn’t display it.

The method I mentioned is just a simultaneous attempt to both press LP for a single frame and negative edge plink it immediately afterwards to make damn well sure that it works.

Oh I see, nice find!

In training mode, how can I be sure that I’ve done that LP neg-edge correctly?
You certain you can p-link via negative edge?
Do you have any video showing the timing for the finder slide?

edit: oddly I’ve got a better ratio by doing neg-edge hayate LP only

On some characters where Karakusa -> FFSS doesn’t work you can do Karakusa, FFSS for Fierce -> Feint -> Strong -> Short AKA st.HP -> Hayate feint -> st.MP -> st.LK

It does more damage than FFS of course but the drawback is that you can just follow it by LP Hayate or SHC LP Hayate.
The good part is that you can do st.LK -> Hayate feint to surprise your opponent and go for a reset.

So far it works on Cody and Chun-Li but I didn’t tested it on all the characters where FFSS miss.

And by the way, the combo doesn’t work if you do EX Karakusa instead of normal one, I don’t know why.

not sure if this has been posted yet, and it’s really only for combo videos:

hayate charge level 3 counter hit->s.FP->FP hayate
or
found this out while trying the 700 challenge…it does 690 :frowning:
super->hayate charged to level 3->ultra
it felt like there were 2 different amounts of hit stun for the level 3 hayate, I could only link into ultra by holding on to charge till it was just barely going to be level 4

^^get a memo to self pad. That was such an unnecessary post.

Pretty much the only way to tell you’re doing it right is when you start having a 100% execution rate. It’s a pain.

The timing is easy; As fast physically possible. If it doesn’t hurt after doing it a few times then you’re probably doing it too slow.

…and yes, neg-plinking works. It took me about 10 minutes of pausing and unpausing on specific frames with certain inputs to test. Stupid half-arsed input display.

You are certainly a treasure trove of novel information, Sprint. I just wish I could be as confident in all your findings as you seem to be.

Negative edge plinking is pretty outlandish. But I have no reason to disbelieve you.

If neg edge plink works, you’ll be able to get an ex hayate to come off, that’s simple enough to test, otherwise it’s not plinking.

Plinking doesn’t work for normals, only specials, i’m sure of that.
