You May Be of Some Use to Me: The Dr Doom Team thread

Molecular Shield moves slow enough that people usually stand still and prepare to block it. I do Hulk’s command grab right before the rocks hit, so I imagine you’d see even more success from Skrull’s grab. That said, Missles would definitely allow for this as well.

Skrull actually has decent anchoring abilities. Big Marcus is known for making level 3 X-factor Skrull comebacks. I’d say he’s a better anchor than Doom because Doom can be zoned out when he doesn’t have assists and Doom’s damage output makes X-factor a lot less important for him.

I’ve dabbled with Doom/Skrull before: Inferno and Sphere Flame are great for DHCing into each other

Has anyone realized how good Doom and Deadpool go together? I’m using Doom/Task/Deadpool and i’m just loving his quick work for Doom, it goes so far, hits low which is great for easy unblockables, and is super fast with HELLA priority, it’s actually one of if not the only assist I know of in the game that can flat out beat Tron assist cleanly. What are some of the low hitting assists you guys like to use with Doom?

I just use Wesker because I like playing him. Deadpool could probably fit my team too, but I just don’t like the way his moves and playstyle work.

True, I mean Wesker clearly is the overall better character, especially in lvl3 x-factor (Although deadpool can be pretty scary too!) but I find that Wesker’s samurai edge just doesn’t have the range and speed needed for Doom to get in and create unblockables. Also you have to love the hitbox on Quick Work, he has such a low profile, but hits high enough to knock Ammy out of high cold shots, lol. And also I find while using Quick Work, it actually makes Dooms’ butter gun scary! If you get caught by dooms gun (which does hit high i believe…?) within the range of quick work (which is nearly full-screen btw) it’s a guarenteed full combo for doom. Totally sick.

I’m using Wesker over Deadpool because his assist works as OTG/lowshot for spencer, and low shot for doom. Wesker just seems like the better overall character with an amazing assist. I like using deadpool, but never as an assist, he’s always on point.

Thats true, but in my team, I run Doom/Task/Deadpool, Doom and task can both self-OTG, so there isn’t a BIG loss there, plus my resets with Doom can get pretty nasty when using Deadpool, where as with Wesker, My resets generally don’t work with Wesker assist, so i guess it’s all a matter of how your team is constructed and whatnot.

Yep it’s all about team makeup. I also can’t help but abuse the shit out of LMHS j.MMHS OTG XFC lvl3 DEAD.

Just clarifying: j.:h: does not hit high. In fact, against some characters, Doctor Doom touches the ground and the beam disappears before touching the opponent if they are crouching.

What does everyone here think about Wolverine (Berserker Slash) Doom (Beam) and Tasky (Horizontal Shot)?

With Wolvie the main objective is obviously up close and personal tactics, and Doom and Tasky would be meant for long range assists. Not that they both don’t have their good close range attacks, but I’m just saying in the case of having Wolvie as my first.

generally speaking, I think wolverine on point on pretty much -any- team is a fine choice lol. I would probably have doom in the back though for lvl 3 XFC -> doom time, then just go nuts with the zoning and insane damage off confirms. tasky’s horizontal arrows already cover a good amount of ground space, so it would probably be a good idea to have doom using his hidden missiles assist instead. it can act as a combo breaker and easy confirm with wolvie’s speed, plus it covers the air. keeping doom safe while he calls out the missiles is easy too since you have wolvie. that’s just me though, lol.

Does the stomp loop in the corner just not work on Dante? I cant even launch him after 1 rep. I also have trouble doing this on Tron as well.

I don’t recall having any problems against Dante. Make sure s.:h: hits twice before you press :s:.

Thanks man, I don’t even have the game yet so I was just throwing some shit out there. The only thing I know about it is through youtube videos and and guide here.

I am new to Doom but I was thinking of use Doom (missiles)/ Wolverine (berserker barrage)/ Dorm (hole)

Probably have wolv on point and with missiles being launched non-stop I can keep people locked down, also with Dorm using hole I can otg into a combo with wolv. Though I’m wondering does this team benefit doom? Would it be best to have him as second or anchor? I play Dorm right now and he can do some damage fairly well by himself but with missile assist and teleport shenanigans I can see him benefiting. Now can Doom get real use out of wolv and dorm though?

So I see that a lot of people have Dormammu on their team with Doom, but is there synergy that good? I’ve trying to craft a LeiLei team and I know the combination of Doom/LeiLei/Ammy works out. I’m trying to see who else has strong DHC potential with Victor Von Doom instead of having to go to the pound. The only thing I can see is that Dorm can set up Stalking Flares after a Sphere Flame, or Chaotic Flame after OTG -> Photon Array. Or am I just missing something? My goal is to find a good DHC between all three characters, but there lies the problem…

I’m thinking of changing my team to Doom/Task/Sent for extra lame keep away…or terribad rushdown…

Question, what helps Wolverine out more, Missiles or Rocks? I see the benefit of rocks for anyone but can missiles help Wolvy out more? Coming up with a completely new team with characters I don’t use is hard.

I personally think Molecular Shield is better for Wolverine. Because Wolverine does not have projectiles, it’s hard for him to cover Doom while he fires Hidden Missiles. Additionally, Molecular Shield has a tendancy to pop opponents up into the air long enough to easily combo off of when used to get in and has a relatively large amount of hit-stun when it’s used in a combo.

I am currently running:
Dormammu (Dark Hole)
Super-Skrull (Orbital Grudge)
Dr. Doom (Molecular Shield)

I am very happy with it so far; I overlooked Molecular Shield for too long.
