Hello all, I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on who to use as I third. At the moment I only play Trish / Doom. I learned Doom’s Bnb last week and he is by far my fav at the moment. I like the fact that with trish and doom I can zone or rush down with both. Any ideas on who I should put some time into to up my game?
I’m a tad biased since I use him, but I’d go with Taskmaster. he too is both a zone and rush monster. I love the characters who can do both. Therefore Magneto is also an excellent choice. Magneto can also benefit from Trish doing disc super, tagging in mag, then letting him rush in w/ no pushblock, etc etc
Trying to make a team with Doom-A/Wesker-B with Doom on point. . .had been using Dorm for the most part. . .but doesn’t feel like it works out as well as I thought it did. . .any suggestions?
HOnestly my suggestion would be to move doom to 2nd or anchor. wesker works much better with assists and i feel like doom is a much bigger threat later in matches. Also, DHC into sphere flame can do lots of damage.
BUt if you are insistent on playing him point, you need some kind of assist to cover you while u dash mixup. like sentinel drones or amaterasu cold star.
Ryu(tatsu), Dr. Doom (Beam), Dormamu(Purification). This team works well for me. Doom’s assist hits hard, pushes back, and is active for a good time. This allows me to tatsu my way in with ryu. The only problem is that its harder to combo with compared to hidden missiles. DHC works with well with this team.
Chris (grenade… might do gun fire, if nades aren’t workin’ out well).
Trish (peekaboo)
Doom (rocks)
Doom is a big help for wake-up combos for Chris, who is my best character. Trish’s peek and Chris’s nades help Doom to zone; between the two traps, they can really annoy opponents trying to get past my keep-away. So far, I’m finding Doom is a beast. Wish I had started using him earlier.
changed my lineup (again) and this time I’m running Wesker (low shot)/Doom (rocks)/Magneto (EM disruptor). I love rushing down with this team, it’s so fun. basic strategy at every match is to get wesker to build meter and hopefully kill someone, tag in Magneto so wesker becomes both my OTG assist AND a very powerful anchor, then go nuts with mixups and rushdown. my team can also play a decent zoning game if needed.
doom’s my best character, so I like to have him chill in the second slot for cleanup duty after my mags is through. hopefully he lasts long enough for that haha. I’ve been pondering kicking out mags though since besides the fact that I -cannot- for the life of me do his big damage loops (ROM, hyper grav, magnetic blast, etc), I feel the team needs more staying power. I played dormammu before so I’ll see how a team of wesker/dorm/doom does once I head into the lab tomorrow.
I rock that Doctor Weskmaster. Order though Wesker, Doom, Taskmaster. It focuses on Wesker using the two assists to start combos, extend combos, apply pressure, and etc. However I like this spot for Doom. I can kill pretty easily if I do a large Wesker combo and if I need to, I end with a Maximum Wesker DHC into Sphere Flame for lots of damage. Once Doom is in, either by Wesker’s K.O., DHC, raw tag, I switch my style up bad and become a major zoner. All of Doom’s projectiles combined with Taskmaster’s H arrows makes for a time time getting in.
A tricky little full screen combo I do usually catches people off guard. I do a H Molecular Shield and Task assist at the same time. The arrows come out first and a lot of people don’t expect it. They get hit by the arrows, then the rocks hit them, then I finish with a L Plasma Beam. If that combos its does around 300k (complete guess), but even if it doesn’t combo it’s a nice way to apply pressure from across the screen. Full screen Photon Shot with Taskmaster’s H assist is another way to fill up the screen in a way that makes my opponent yield when approaching me.
My main team is built around Wesker but then when Doom is in I utilize Taskmaster to make the duo work up an excellent keepaway game with Doom.
Same for me. It’s weird though considering I’m a really nice person. But in all fighting games I use Wesker, Taskmaster, Doctor Doom, Kazuya, Balrog, Bison, Geese, Bowser, etc. The only good characters I use is Raiden in MK because he’s been my favorite since day 1.
Recently Dr. Doom seems to be a char I enjoy using and was wondering what’s a good team for him.
Currently I’m using Wolverine/Dormammu/Doom. I’m thinking of switching Wolverine for someone else. Any suggestions who goes well with them two and why? Cheers!
My team is currently Zero-A, Taskmaster-A, Doom-A. Doom is great assist support with his beam supporting Zero’s command dash. And Taskmaster serves as a great battery for the team.
Not to mention each of the three fighters DHC into eachother nicely.
Hmm… It seems like a pretty solid team to me. Wolvy’s dash behind attack move goes well with Doom’s beam assist and even on his own, Wolvy is a force to be reckoned with. What’s the reason for your switch?
For those who play both, how would you compare the difficulty of Magneto’s combos to Doom’s? Does Magneto have anything useful that’s as easy as Doom’s midscreen loops?
Right now Doom is my only useful character, and I find the fact that he’s better as 2nd or anchor extremely annoying. I have to find somebody good on point who’s equally fun to play. Magneto’s preferred if I can ever get his combos. Dormammu’s also an option, though he can’t DHC glitch. I don’t hate Wesker, but the thought of starting every match with him instead of my beloved Doom…
I would say magneto’s easiest midscreen combo is either his fly loop:
S, j.H,AD,j.L,.J.H XX FLY (j.H AD)x3-4 S Shockwave
or even easier would be:
S., j.H, AD, j.M, j.H, land, (j.H, AD, j.M, j.H) x2 st.H xxDistruptor/Shockwave/gravity squeeze
I wouldnt fixate on choosing a character just for the DHC glitch though, you should pick a character you play better with or feel more comfortable with.
Really great Doom play on WNF tonight from DiosX, Olaf, and Cl0ckwork. Are there any other assists besides Sentinel that boost Doom’s mobility that much? DiosX was able to dash around all day with Doom so long as the drones were out.
Here’s the new team I plan to use, partially inspired by Timothy from Option-Select.com. I haven’t had a chance to go to training mode with it or test it yet, so there may be more things I can do with it than what I’ve listed here.
Doctor Doom-g, Wesker-b, Spencer-a
My primary strategy with this team is to keep Doctor Doom on point and try to get big damage combos out of any situation possible. The characters I chose are very versatile, as they can all do well in any position in the team, and they have good and practical ways to switch between each other. Because of this, I should be able to switch up my strategy on the fly if necessary.
Assists
Doctor Doom-g: I prefer this assist because of its usefulness for forcing blockstun for rushdown. It is also useful as an early anti-air and has some zoning ability.
Wesker-b: This assist hits low, so it’s good for setting up “unblockable” situations. Both Doom and Spencer are able to take advantage of it quite well.
Spencer-a: The main reason for choosing this assist is because of its ability to reel opponents in from long range, especially after hitting with Doctor Doom’s Plasma Beam. It makes Doctor Doom extremely dangerous even from across the screen. Wesker is also able to use this assist in a similar way with his Samurai Edge OTG.
DHC Options
Doctor Doom -> Wesker: Air Photon Array -> Rhino Charge > Samurai Edge Low
Doctor Doom -> Wesker: Sphere Flame -> Phantom Dance
Doctor Doom -> Spencer: Air Photon Array -> Bionic Maneuvers
Doctor Doom -> Spencer: Air Photon Array -> Bionic Maneuvers (miss) > Air Wire Grapple H
Wesker -> Doctor Doom: Mustang Kick > Rhino Charge -> Sphere Flame
Wesker -> Doctor Doom: Rhino Charge (fail) -> Photon Array or Sphere Flame
Wesker -> Spencer: Phantom Dance -> Bionic Maneuvers
Spencer -> Wesker: Bionic Maneuvers -> Rhino Charge > Samurai Edge Low
Spencer -> Doctor Doom: Bionic Maneuvers -> Sphere Flame
Spencer -> Doctor Doom: Bionic Maneuvers -> Sphere Flame (miss) > s.M or s.H
Misc
Spencer -> Doctor Doom: After Jaw Breaker with Spencer, Doctor Doom can tag in and OTG into a combo. Doom is not affected by the extra damage scaling from the grab.
Wesker -> Doctor Doom: After Mustang Kick with Wesker, launch into air combo and then TAC with Doom. I generally find this preferable to the DHC glitch because it doesn’t require meter and can be done anywhere, and Doom’s ability to do Flight combos and start a DHC glitch from the air makes him a good candidate for TAC combos. Again, Doom is not affected by the extra damage scaling from the grab.
Wesker can also tag in after Spencer’s command grab for unscaled OTG relaunch combo.
For any Doctor Doom combo ending in OTG H sphere flame or level 3, you can do OTG H > Spencer assist> heavy beam > super for some extra damage
Wesker/Spencer/Doom is actually one of the teams I use often, except I use beam assist instead of rocks for Wesker crossup shenanigans. Sometimes I switch around to Doom/Spencer/Wesker to abuse unblockables, which makes playing Doom on point pretty fun.
Rocks are probably a good assist for this team though, as Spencer’s assists are not very useful as far as screen control goes, and rocks have the advantage of controlling both horizontal and vertical space whereas beam only goes horizontally
I’m contemplating putting together a MODOK/Skrull/Doom villain team - any suggestoins? I was thinking about going for hidden missiles on doom for pressure relief and to just get people to stop moving in order to do some skrull grab shenanigans - but I honestly don’t know what assists for MODOK or skrull - I’d just assume NOT the wallbounce skrull one because MODOK won’t need that in his combos for anything, and I suppose the barrier could set up for some shenanigans from Skrull’s command grab but I’m honestly not sure what way to go. Thoughts?
Doom on anchor I would assume would be the best bet because I can’t imagine Skrull or MODOK back there would be of much help at all LOL
