On Hawkeye: axes and piercing bolts seem to just go through each other and retain their hitting abilities, which makes for lots of trades. Magic shield can also nullify the piercing bolts, which can be useful when calling a projectile assist to put hawkeye in blockstun. In golden armor, axes just eat the bolts and magic shield actually reflects the bolt. It goes so fast that I doubt anyone will block it the first time.

I’ve done this once with the standard armor, never did it again though, was neat.
The axe is slow sure but it pretty much gurantees the normal jumping area is now covered, this is why those 3 second spans when the axe is out is so nice. also, you are not in recovery the whole time when you throw it so call assists to help with superjumping if you have to and follow up with more proectiles. Axe is only one of the starts to a great arthur offense.
So if someone is actively trying to jump/fly over to where i am, should i use axes or daggers?
I’m thinking daggers. With more, faster hits to push them back and shut-down their attempts. Axes control more space but are slower and a single hit it might not do much to deter them.
I’m thinking normal axes might be good just to throw out there to secure airspace when unsure of what the opponent wants to do. However, what of Golden Axe use???
Daggers/ Axes depend on height IMO. Basically anyone aproaching through the space above Arthur’s regular jump height needs the axe and anyone below that gets daggers. Also the hit off the axe causes quite a bit of hitstun and knockback that its kinda even with or if not better than the daggers.
Golden Axes pretty much work the same way as regular axes, its just more hits.
Something I want to mention as well is that if you want to focus youre attack with lots of damage in one area go with the axe (Vs Trish to knock her out of her airspace), if you want a wide range to cover lots of space go with daggers (vs Nemmy to shutdown rockets).

FYI: In my experience, Gold armor is pretty much always a bad idea. Don’t do it unless you NEEEEEEED to heavenly slash, keep a major whiff safe, or are almost out of time. Good players don’t give a shit about it, and will laugh when it falls off and they kill you. You can keep it kind of safe with goddess bracelet fullscreen, but even then, some characters can punish.
Daggers and Arrows of steel are amazing. In gold armor, focus on the axe, the arrows, and daggers.
So everyone knows, Realpolitix is in SoCal right now, and he’s doing real well. He beat Yipes in the first round, and eliminated CJ ShowStopper.

None of his matches were streamed, sadly, so I can’t say how his Deadpool or Ancthur held up. He got knocked into Loser’s somewhere, and then was eliminated by XRay.
He made it quite far, though.
He told me he was practicing hard though with RR and arthur so I’m sure he’s gotten even better.
Nonetheless, im sure he made a good effort.
Agreed. Gold Armor can be very costly. It’s not worth the risk to me. Fortunately, GB is a great super.

Hey guys I placed 2nd in a 30+ person tourny with my wesker, deadpool, arthur team after being sent to losers in my very first match … some of my matches were streamed, so I’ll link you guys to the archives where (dark) arthur makes an appearance … trust me, after that day, everyone there recognized arthur as a threat
No way, golden Armor is awesome. Golden projectiles like arrows & lances can effectively shut down most projectiles games.
And very effective for those characters that just like to stay hover/fly-mode a lot and rain down crap from above(storms, trishes. morrigans, sents, akumas, novas, dormms, etc). Other characters would be at a disadvantage, but Arthur’s Gold arrows can follow and punish. Good for intercepting pesky spider-man players that just like to zip around too, as well as hopping Ghost rider’s.
Good for mind games too. One thing i like to do is jump over a player, but right as i’m over-head fire gold arrows, which immediately steer downward and hit the player below/behind me(cross-up?). Often they don’t seem it coming.
Also pulling a Captain America and doing double-jump mindgames while firing arrows sometime in between. They’ll steer downward and hit them as they’re attempting to jump up and chase.
As for armor breaking and being comboed? I think fear of that is exaggerated. In my hundreds & hundreds of Live ranked matches rarely does anyone capitalize on that.
Edit: I do need to get out of the habit of landing an air combo+OTG and just ending with daggers. GB should be used more in that situition.
