You lack discipline oh foreign knight! The Arthur Thread

i was playing yesterday with a group of friends and couldn’t for the life of me figure out WTF to do vs anyone with a beam super. seemed like if i tried to play the regular zoning game i would just eat a chatoic flame / hyper psionic blaster / gun super on reaction if i ever pressed a button.

yea you have to be careful with beam supers with him i was getting wrecked by them in a game online…your going to have to bate them and once they run out of super from trying you can sit back and throw daggers all day as they do nothing but block.

Beam supers seemed to be the bane of my existence when i played last night. Try throwing one dagger to bait them, then block, or jump. Worked okay for me, and made them burn up meter, but chip damage can be a mother fucker. I’m thinking maybe a jump into crossbow might work, or maybe a bottle or axe. I’ll have to play with it.

Damn, things are not looking so good for the Knight…

lol kinda sucks when a character like taskmaster has a strong up-close game AND a fullscreen beam super to punish you hard if you try to keep him out.

sorta like, do i throw this knife to keep him off me? but if i do that i get supered on reaction, possibly DHC’d for 100% health ? but if i don’t throw the knife / sword / etc. he closes the distance and i get fucked in the corner.

will have to play him a bunch more to see where the dust settles i guess.

Is it true that Arthur doesn’t have a ground dash? What kind of character doesn’t have a ground dash?

I think against beam supers, normal jump is gonna be your friend. You can’t do the basic dagger toss lockdown.

Anyone found any good lockdown patterns yet with Sentinel assist?

I havent found any that they can’t jump out of yet.

What’s the best way to counter someone spamming daggers/javelin and sentinel drone assist? I’m new to this game (well, fighting games in general) and it’s giving me a hard time.

beams usually do the trick magneto wrecks arthur with disrupter so bad that i actually have to switch out to hulk/haggar to take him out

Lances beat disruptor. One lance will get nullified, the second goes through.

Not quite. Arthur’s lances prioritizes a lot over other projectiles.

anyone know how to get that up and around dagger out? it happens randomly sometimes when you do qcb heavy. I think it may have to do with where the enemy is.

Arthur is going to be really good in the right hands. But he has a high learning curve. The secret is Daggers in the air and lances on the ground. You also cant be predictable with your shot patterns. Have to mix it up quite a bit.

I also just found out (thanks to Buktooth’s awesome Brady Games guide) st.mp has auto guard. Amazing Anti Air
