The Golden arrows home, I think they’re talking about the useless piece of shit from Super Ghouls n Ghosts that does an L in the air (its a sword/trident that goes straight up, down, forward, and then back to you. It’s fucking horrid)

I’d rather they put in the SCYTHE as a low hitting projectile.

Wow, no wonder i didnt know what you were talking about. I have never, EVER gotten the sword. EVER. I played though that game at least 4 times but i do not recall getting a sword.

BTW for people who have never played GnG heres a video of Super GnGs weapons (which is the weapons that are in MvC3).

It’s been a while since I’ve seen Arthur’s weapons in this game, but the thing that it seems like people are referring to as a boomerang/scythe is actually the the Axe from GNG in Bronze/Gold Armor form, only it comes back in this game.

The huge one that spins around is the Axe is it not? Cause I’ve watched every arthur video and I’ve seen plenty of axes but not a scythe to be found!

Yep, the sword.

They included the Ghouls N’ Ghosts version of up close attacks and the Super Ghouls N’ Ghosts version of the L.

But the sword could prove useful here unlike that game.

For the scythe, check the christmas eve trailer. Seems to function like a boomerang now. :badboy:

Thanks dude. I got 2nd in the 16 man tournament that was run, mostly thanks to Arthur. I think the character will get better and better the more he is used.

Move list based on what I can remember:

qcf+a = Dagger toss (Up to three on the ground). When I did these against Deadpool’s gunfire, you can see in the vid, it only took 2 to nullify his gunfire so the third one hit, allowing an easy hit confirm into goddess bracelet. Pretty awesome. Good chip too.

qcf+b = Lance toss (up to 2 on the ground). Didn’t use it as much as dagger toss, so not much to say about it.

qcf+c = Crossbow shots. Based on my experience, his best zoning tool BY FAR. Using the ground and air ones together is hell for the opponent to get through, the angles they cover are perfect. Recovers VERY fast to follow up into whatever (usually another crossbow shot for me). With gold armour, raise the annoyance factor x10, since they home in very well. I can see some crazy pressure being applied from range with these once we get to grips with the game more.

qcb+a = Torch. This wasn’t as useful as I imagined it to be, too slow, flames are only large enough in Gold armour mode, bottle lands too far from arthur, if only the bottle hits, no flames, very little damage and hitstun. Maybe I’m just not using it right.

qcb+b = Axe. This is the large spinning projectile that goes full screen. WOW, talk about covering space. If you throw it around the middle of your normal jump, nobody can really get past it, expect super jumps galore.

qcb+c = Scythe. It spins forward and then comes back, hitting all the way. Didn’t get to experiment with it much. You can jump up and throw it straight in front of you, and then land and it will return in a downward arc hitting the opponent in the back.

db+a = Shield. Seemed to stagger the opponent for a free combo perhaps? Didn’t get to test it much.
dp+b/c = Sword attack. Hits twice, seemed to be a decent close range anti-air.

Overall…what a fun character! He was everything I wanted him to be. Not broken in anyway, you’ll have to work hard for your wins, but still strong imo. His success will depend entirely on the player, there’s no shortcut to a quick win. But I think the more we explore the character, and especially discover which assists support him best, the better he’ll get.

Have you done fire dragon? does it do alot of damage?

it would seem that (of course) arthur on point would be servedwell by an assist that knocks the oppoent back to fullscreen away. and perhaps a second assist that does the same thing but as an AA.

arthur in that last vid posted seemed to have a weakness to things right on top of him (like cable) so an assist that covers that space would seem paramount.

In the two videos Keits put on the front page explaining some of Arthur’s stuff, he mentioned not knowing how to do the combo in the one trailer involving OTGing with the torch and then comboing into the boomerang/scythe thing. I went back and watched it again (it’s the Holiday 2010 trailer), and the sequence is normal ground combo, cancel into the dp+C double sword swing special, immediately Torch, immediately boomerang/scythe, then combo into launcher. Who knows if that’s still doable in the current build or if it’s a remnant of a past build, though.

wtf just happened to arthur? I mean no ground dash, can’t control jump well in air, and he can only do a special once in the air. So really what’s the point of him having a double jump if he can only do one special in either jump? They know mobility is key in a vs game. You have more character’s who can do the same shit with better mobility. I am still gonna try to use him. If not I always got old trusty ammy…
