For the air combo delaying… you are saying you can input M M rapid, slight delay then H S? Admittedly I’m new to MVC and this type of speed, but at least on the ground I can’t ever get H’s to land unless I rapid fired the magic series on the ground. maybe the hit stun from air M is much longer? or is the magic series timing not so strict in the air?
Can any of you vet’s of MVC explain how to hit confirm in this game? With the speed at which you have to input ground magic series… i would assume you pretty much have to take it through an entire series and then just be able to hit confirm before you end with launcher. meaning a longer ground series that ends with a M before a longer would do less damage, but would be safer on block if you stopped at M (based on general amounts of block advantage/disadvantage) Is there a way to go further into the magic series and then like backdash cancel or something so you don’t get punished? I’m trying to figure out how to safely do strings without knowing they will hit, especially if they don’t start from an air attack/jump in
In the air combos, you can vary your timing on pressing the normal attacks and it’ll still combo. It’s good because sometimes air combos will whiff if they aren’t at the right height. So, if you adjust your timing you’ll more than likely hit full air combos.
I think a lot of people are going to dismiss Wolvie in this game, since he was never much in other VS series games, but damn I love this guy in this game. He’s quick, does a lot of damage, and has a cross-up special attack. Everyone in this forum knows what’s up with our favorite bearded clawed dude!
If you do the normal magic series, into air combo Drill Claw xx Dive Kick and then you either XFC or Berserker Charge as you hit the ground and the opponent is bouncing, you launch them back up then M,M,H, Drill Claw xx Fatal Claw. It does FAT damage. Talking like 70-80% plus.
Delay all the hits of the MMHS air magic series enough so that while it’s slower, but that they all hit. When you do, the S will slam them lower to the ground than usual. Press Partner 2 button as soon as you can see Logan and Hulk will come out with the ground wave and it will combo.
You should be able to do the rest.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
The delayed MMHS air magic series rhtyhm is different than just pressing it as fast as you can. But there’s a definite rhythm to it.
down + H off a normal jump surprises people a lot…you get up in their face, empty jump, they whiff and you bring the pain. plus you can call assist during normal jump as insurance
I think he’s trying to say to mash the H berserker barrage for more hits. The more hits cause a knockdown, so cancel after the extra pop in the air. I haven’t tried it yet.
Yes, when you do the berserker barrage, mash and the last hit will pop up high enough so you can connect the s.H after cancelling into Beserker charge.
You should do MMH in the air and then MMLH in the air the second time…and the second drill claw does connect when you’re normal and you can cancel to fatal claw
I’ve been using either Wolverine or Akuma as a point character. But I find Wolverine to be very potent on the offensive side. Thing is… this is my first MvC game, so I don’t really know anything yet and which assists I should use to help Wolverine get in easier.
covering assist such as Sent drones, Arthur’s knives, Doom Rocks/Missiles, hell even Caps Shield Slash are good ones. The key is the stay on the offensive and use these assists to get in and to keep your pressure safe.
I used Wolvie and Akuma on Tuesday and felt it was a good pair, but I hadn’t found a covering assist. Then, I saw Justin using Storm, and I have to say I really like that team, especially with Storm’s fast assist, holding the opponent in the corner to maintain pressure while covering for Wolvie. Props to Justin.
I actually had Wolverine, Akuma, and Zero (don’t know why it’s just because I like Zero) But I did find Akuma being very good with Gohadoken assist because it beats rush downs and I just think it’s a very good assist overall. I heard Justin used Storm, and I know Storm with X Factor as the last character can chip super for a cheap win. She’s also a very good keep away character and a good rush down character, so maybe it’s a good choice. I guess I’ll replace Zero for Storm and see what I can do in Versus/Training. This is my first MvC game… so I don’t know how to really play or understand how to play lol. Justin’s smart, thanks guys. Going in the lab.
