I will definitely mess with Wolverine when I get this game. He looks fun as a rushdown.

If you can get in to do the rush down. From full screen it just looks silly.

Friend got a legit copy from Best Buy going to be playing it tonight anyone want me to check stuff with Wolvie while I am playing?

see if he has his instant overhead A like in xvs.

Berserker slash cross up to weapon x works timing is kinda hard but it’s nice as a combo finisher

Actually I find the timing quite easy. It’s getting the Beserker Barrage Hyper to connect after a cross up BS that it’s hard.

First try with wolverine I thought the same: Garbage, can’t get in, why am I not playing X23 or whatever that bitch’s name is.

Then I watched my friend use sentinel to keep pressure while he did mixups with Trish and figured dive kick + speed + that = maybe win. I went on a 9 streak (9 2/3 wins against 5 people) until I played him again (he’s a seasoned marvel veteran).

Wolverine with Sentinel assist for rush down seems to work pretty well. He can get in and stay in provided you know how to effectively use assists. Doom rocks will work as well.

Super jump -> dive kick can cross up and if you mix up dive kick with his slide in the corner or hcb+p to end up on the other side it can get pretty hard to follow after magic series block string. Like I said, keep sentinel force or doom rocks coming though.

Its really easy to accidentally (yeah right its not an accident) to get beserker charge when wave dashing with him. Beserker charge + x factor makes him stupid quick although I think x factor is better with Sentinel.

You can do magic series A 2A B C xx beserker charge continue combo.

Hey guys, Wolverine’s page from the strategy guide was released and apparently hitting light as soon as you jump is an instant overhead.

Wolverine is a monster.

^^^ if what that guide says is true, it certainly seems that way. ryu not looking like a complete chump either, damn hados pack a frikkin punch.

Also from the guide: Heavy Berserker Slash has 15 frames of invincibility 7 frames where he can be hit. so when he is swiping with his claws. Wolvie has a way to get in, wave dash berserker slash.

Ok, so fast fireballs even with drones makes it hard. I tried getting in with Wolverine against Ryu and it was damn near impossible. Couldn’t wave dash in, couldnt slide, couldn’t dive kick. He can fill the screen with them almost and my friend that plays Ryu/Akuma/Haggar kept me out with akuma fireball assist and ryu fireball almost like megaman/arthur stuff and every time I got in, Haggar’s lariat assist knocked me back out no matter what I did. Even if I ducked under the lariat, if I touched a button I’d get hit and he has lower invincibility (maybe full body). Wolverine is gonna have some problems.

On top of that if Ryu landed ANYTHING or the Assist hit he could get free shinku so it makes it that much more dangerous for him.

Lots of conflicting reports on Wolfie’s power level but it’s all good!

well maybe arthurs gold projectile is what folks should be using? it says so in the scans, and arthurs projectiles go through most pothers so that could be a way in. also were you using berserker slash to got through projectiles? it says in the scans that the move has invincibility for that exact purpose…

a mix of arthur gold armor projectile with berserker slash with super jump divekick seems like it would be hard to outright counter easily.

I played wolverine yesterday. Didn’t know the good combos my combos were A, B, C xx Barrage xx Berserker Barrage X. He’s really easy to pick up and win with imo, at least at beginning levels.

I had a long set against one of the better players in my scene. My team was Wovie, Deadpool, and Dante/Ammy/random. His team was Modok, x23, Sent. I found it ptetty easy to get in even from full screen on zoners. His berserker slashes are too good. They walk right past lasers and even Modoks walls. If Modok started laying down grond analyze cubes they would stop Slashes, so I would super jump and either dive or T claw in. You can do 2 drill claws on block and then d. C to divekick. He does good damage too, especially against low health chars. Sentinel does a crapload of dmg though, and his lasers are really good and fast.

Let me know if you guys have any questions, or want me to try something Wolvie only though, or maybe wolvie vs. certain scenarios. Also read the MVC3 guide pages for wlvie theres good info in there.

so i havent been watching stream or anything so dont know what’s already been done to death but wolverine’s new drill claw is pretty funny. You can do it multiple times in air combos with hits in between (or not) and cancel into air super, etc

…also speaking of nerfs to the dive kick, it sucks that you can’t drill claw away after a blocked dive kick any more, or cancel a whiffed dive kick into drill claw

best initial combo into launcher? the guide says use cr. L, but why wouldn’t you use st. L instead? better reach, gets out faster, etc right?

im guessing because it hits low and its just putting it instead of standing l because most people will be using c.L

Also st. L will whiff on some characters, which isn’t good in a mashing game lol
