You don't like 3s?

i like 3s bcuz it’s more ‘COMBAT’ or ‘IN YOUR FACE’ i believe in mvc2 ther’s too many things u have to remember I.E. combos. i just can’t do a combo over and over but in 3s combos r easy I.E.oro BnB->super or chicken wotever u wanna call it. and strategy, reading your opponent for the first 10 seconds is good enough, once your in any position can always do something(unless your in a combo)
C.Spanky said rush or turtle, now i don’t find mvc2 rush or turtle–niether of them, it’s just bottom of my list

i’m fine with SF2T no coplaint(i mean it was made long ago can’t blame old CapCom ideas can u?)n e ways i love the game

cvs2, i like the game it’s pretty fun and how they made the a-groove much different from alpha3 but wished they made parry-timing same as 3S
can’t blame them

iv’e never played ggxx befor although it looks very fun

IIIS
CVS2
SFTT
MVC2

Ugh. No it’s not.

nah, i was just saying that a person who has great execution/tactics and plays reactively will beat someone who has everything planned out brilliantly (but who can’t execute that well).

edit: the main reason I think strategy is losing its potency in SF is cause of the way the new games are. There is just too much randomness, and the wtf factor is increasing with each new release. Go back to the days of ST, and yeah, strategy becomes more important, but even then, execution can STILL rape. O. Sagat anyone?

BECAUSE OF AIR GUARD !!!

and many more please pay me $25 bucks to tell you everything why , inclusive of 10% service charge and 15% tax .

A3?.

i dunno about that man. I’ve seen my fair share of high level a3 vids (japan mostly, US, and some UK/french) and I never see meter building. Sometimes you see Gief whiffing throws or whatever to get his meter up a bit, but never ridiculous levels like Tokido/Justin at EVO or some dumb shit like that.

you dont see meter building because you start with meter…duh

and the good vc’s build back more bar than gj, but once you’ve used your meter, its back to whiffing throws.

Combos are kinda silly IMO… one screw up and it’s over… 100% combo! SF does not have anything that can really kill you in one move, except those death combos that KYSG does.

a3 whiff throw, thats the most recent high level a3 play style i can remember from cf and random japan vids.

lol hook me up i wanna see that shit

Basically the best thing I have read in a LOOOONG time.

SF2 is god damn! chEAP!!

some people just have different tastes in fighting games so you can’t say which games sux~ but i just hate SF2 it’s and very annoying game…i played it online damn was it annoying just people goin tiger~tigER~ or Hadou Hadou and then Shoryu or Tiger uppercut~and u can’t do anything about it~ you can’t parry it! really pisses me off… i think there’s not much skill needed to play SF2~it’s actually just seeing who is the cheapest~ haha~

Parry was invented because one of the guys at the Capcom office played high level SF and subsequently OWNED the rest of Capcom Japan with a lame FB strategy. They brainstormed on game mechanics to shut down the FB strategy, and it came down to two. Since Hara-Kiri wouldnt sell SF games in the US market, they decided on parry instead. Then, years later, the MK series used Hara-Kiri in the US and it drove a stake through the heart of the series.

Hallaeluah parry.

what is a FB strategy?

Is that how the parry was invented?

Fireball strategy… well, i wouldnt really call it a strategy…

Not really… it was more sarcastic than anything, but im sure there’s a bit of truth to it.

Well, you started the post with “honest to god” so I was just double checking

That’s really interesting. Is this true?

What is Hara-Kin?

No, its not 100% true, though I do think it played a role in the invention of parry.

And even though it looks like “Hara-Kin” it says “Hara KIRI” which, is an art of ritual suicide used by the samurai warrior. This method involves taking ones sword, inserting forcefully into the tummy, up to the sternum area, forming a “T” shape, by moving the sword horizontally in the chest area and then dying. Very hardcore, very japanese, very samurai.
